I noticed Mile has a small scab or a scratch on two of his ears. It’s an exterior scratch so it’s not in his ear. (what i am writing in this sentence was before i noticed the wound)I went to the kitchen to get some paper towels cause i accidentally spilled water from the bowl. I don’t know how but i was finished with wipping and i saw blood on the paper. I didn’t know what was it or how it got there and i was trying to figure out how did this get on the paper towel. I let him out to clean his cage and took the wood toy and saw some blood on it too. He went on the bean bag and i started investigating his fur to check. I saw his ears were the problem. He has 2 small scabs on his one ear and the other i think it’s just some blood on there, really tiny scab. Now, i don’t know if he just accidentally scratched his ear on something, somewhere, or he just scratched it with his nails and that made the wound? I didn’t check his ears for ear mites but i think they look healthy. Drive to the vet? Could it get infected? The picture uploading will not be done because my laptop is not here with me at the moment and won’t be for the next 7 days.Any thoughts on this?

Oh and also i don’t know if its related to this but Mile has some white hairs sticking out of his other black fur on his back. I pluck them out and see something white stuck down the hairs. I read this could possibly be mites. I also noticed Bella scratching her ears but i don’t see the fur sticking out like Mile’s. At first i thought it’s just some bedding stuck to his fur, but could it be dandruff mites are making? Can someone give me some insight on th mites In bunnies? I would be soo grateful!

Unsure on cute, sound minor, but try and find the source so it doesn’t happen in the future.

For the hairs, don’t pull out hairs unless they are loose and come out. If you’re pulling it out, the white stuff could be the accompanying skin. Some black rabbits are salt and pepper, like Wick, who is black with some white marks, but his all-black back sometimes gets white fur strands.

Rolo had managed to finely graze both his ears simply by scratching too hard as his nails were really sharp; according to the vet he only has really thin skin which doesn’t help. It was just before his neuter so we had the vet cut his nails and it hasn’t been an issue since. As it was superficial we just used a cotton bud and warm water to clean the wound and checked several times a day to make sure it never became infected. Scabbed over and healed no problem.
