So I took Merry and Banner to the vet for Merry’s monthly tooth check and Banner’s first visit. Banner’s doing great, but we’re not sure what’s going on with Merry.
Side note: Banner was SO cute. He was squirmier than normal and really didn’t want to be picked up, and kept running away from the vet to come put his front paws on my shoulders to stand up (helped the doc check his hocks lol) and randomly gave me kisses!
Back to the less fun stuff. Merry’s poops have been getting less frequent and possibly smaller – and I’ve noticed that although she’s all about the treats and still eating hay, she’s not really finishing her veggies or pellets. Perfect time to have a scheduled vet appt.
Her left molar is a little long (according to dr not enough that she HAS to file it, but longer than she likes to see – and only the left side) and she was gassy. So to err on the side of caution, she gave me some metoclopramide (Reglan) [.07cc 2/day] and some metacam for her discomfort [.02cc 1/day].
This is my first foray into maybe statis land so I’m a wee bit shaky thinking about it! We’re going to keep her on the drugs through the weekend and on Monday if her eating has improved then woo hoo. If it hasn’t improved it’s time to bring her back in to file her teeth.
Poor baby!
And holy COW what a pita to give her the medicine!
