  My neighbors texted me an hour ago asking if I would bring some hay to their house because they want a bunny but they dont know if their son is allergic. I put Lily in her dog stroller and brought her to their house with some of her food. The owners were able to meet her and ask questions about rabbits. She did really well and let them pet her, she was calm and just ate her hay. They actually asked if I could put her on the floor, I set her down and she ran around and sniffed everything. She let their son pet her and she was binkying and sniffing everything. I like being able to do stuff like this because it gives me the opportunity to educate people so they dont buy a rabbit thinking it requires the same care as a hamster. I made sure they were aware of the space and care requirements for rabbits. They showed me the space the rabbit would live in, they have a large extra room that they want to turn into a bunny room. I warned them about harnesses and how expensive vet bills are. I encouraged them to get a rabbit from a rescue as well

  It was so much fun talking about them, most people get annoyed when I talk about rabbits a lot so it was nice. This family was easy because they had no prior rabbit experience. Most people had rabbits who were horribly cared for when they were kids so they are determined that they know what theyre talking about and im wrong. Since they have never had rabbits they actually listened to what I had to say and they had no incorrect information

  Awh yay! Give us an update if they do get a bun, it’s always best to warn them a lot in the beginning than when they have a sick animal and they can’t be helped.

  It was so cute watching Lily play with their son! She would follow him around and nibble on their shoes. She ran under furniture and sniffed everything, she was really cooperative and let me pick her up to show my neighbor the correct way to handle rabbits. Lily is the easier rabbit for this stuff because she doesnt mind being picked up and I can touch her paws to show them what her nails look like. I made sure they were aware of vet bills and how easy they get sick. They are even considering getting two bunnies so they have a friend. I was encouraging them to get their bunny from a rescue because what you see is what you get with rescue rabbits. Unlike a rabbit from a breeder, you know their personality and health issues before you get them. All rescues in my area have the rabbits fixed and seen by a vet before they are adopted.
