Hi guys,
Wondering if can have vibes and positive vibes for Gooseman please? His appetite has disappeared and he’s been hiding. We’ve just got back from the vet. Vet thinks he has injured his spine, judging from reaction when he checked him over. He’s on pain relief now so I hope this will turn his appetite around. Xrays will be done if there’s no improvement.
Hope he has a speedy recovery ((( Gooseman )))
Thank you!
((((((Gooseman))))))
So many vibes!!!!
Good vibes and healing sunshine from me and Chewie. <3<3<3
Best wishes and speedy recovery for Gooseman!
Thanks again !
I’m at work (shh) and anxious to get home and check on him. He did eat a few greens before I left at least.
I’m glad he ate something! More vibes for (((((Gooseman))))))
Glad to hear he ate something before you left. Hope he is better by the time you get home.
Sorry to hear this… (((((Get Well Soon Goose)))) and (((Hugs)))) for Jersey
Oh no! Poor Gooseman! Get better quick, little guy! ~hugs~ to Jersey.

Oh no! Poor Goosey! [[[[]]]]]
Well, I’ve been seeing improvement but still not 100%. Tonight when I got in was the first time I saw him come out energetically for the food offering.
Thanks everyone, the vibes worked!
((( continuing vibes from a latecomer )))))) you can never have too many ;o)
((((More Vibes)))))) Glad to hear things are a bit better.

Did you get the x-ray done ?
Hi Avantika, I just finished his last metacam dose today. He’s been acting normal for days now.
If he deteriorates when off metacam, then I’ll have to take him in for X-ray. This would be to investigate if there’s some underlying problem like arthritis or spondylosis.
I have noticed he has not gone up top of playhouse at all. At least, not that I’ve seen. So I really suspect he did something coming down from there last week. They have a low table to jump onto to get to top of playhouse but I think I need to make it more non slip, and put a ramp in place. I had already planned to make these changes and am wishing I had so this could have been avoided.
Im sorry to hear he hurt himself and i hope he recovers soon.
((((Gooseman)))) vibes from a really latecomer, hoping he’ll continue to improve now the metacam has stopped.
Thanks : )
Gooseman has been pretty good but last night, I watch him twice attempt & fail to make a 1’3″ jump he never used to have an issue with up until this last fortnight.
I’m not really sure what to make of it. Is that really enough to warrant him going under sedation for X-ray?? ![]()
Continued (((((VIBES)))))
Thanks MxM!
Are you sure he’d need to be sedated for the x-ray, jersey? Our vet managed to take Sukka’s x-rays with no sedation, though she is quite the good little patient.
Lots of vibes for you guys!
That’s a really good point redbunbun! I didn’t think of that. I’ll have to ask them. I’ve not had X-ray done at this clinic before.
Thanks for the vibes.
I always feel like a bit of a hypochondriac (if that term applies) when I take rabbits to the vet. Yet, another part of my mind says “what if I didn’t address some subtle thing and they suffered for it?”. Ugh.
Don’t feel like that. I sometimes feel like I’m overreact about my bun too, but since thy are so gentle it’s always batter to be on a safe side then to worry.
More vibes for ((((((Gooseman))))))
Jerseygirl– Like Niamian said, don’t feel like that! Bunnies are delicate animals who have to hide their illness’, so it’s important to notice and take action for the little stuff. It’s just you being a good bunny mom.
I got a lot of weird looks for bringing Moxie in to the vets because she was sneezing, so I know how you feel. Then people who knew practically nothing about rabbits were saying it was nothing and I started to feel ashamed/dumb, which I never should have felt because it turned out to be a legit health issue.
Any update? And continued (((Vibes))) and (((Hugs)))
I can’t imagine anything worse than regrets of something left undone ( within peoples scope of possibilities ) that would prove essential in a diagnosis and treatment.
(((( Gooseman ))))
I’m with Moxie on this one! I always felt like a hypochondriac too – but since Sukka’s been ill, I’ve gained more confidence in the fact that I know her better than anyone else in the world, and thus I can notice subtle changes in her behavior better than other people. More often than not, these changes really have been symptoms of something, no matter how other people have tried to tell me it’s nothing! Subtle changes are the key with rabbits, since they hide their illnesses until the last. I’m sure it’s the same situation with Gooseman!
Besides, it’s better for your rabbit to have a worried owner who will go to the ends of the earth for his health, than an owner who doesn’t place the proper weight on his possible symptoms!
Better safe than sorry, right?
It’s hard to not be a hypochondriac with bunnies.
Hey Jerz, I am so late to this and I apologise. I really hope that Gooseman will be okay. (((((Vibes)))))
I’d go ahead and have him seen again. If it is spondylosis likely he’ll be prescribed metacam for a longer period and reducing his jumping areas would be wise if you haven’t done it already. It was sad when I had to take Mimzy’s shelf away because he couldn’t manage it anymore, but it was for his safety.
My bunnies have been pretty good about non sedated films, but I think it depends on the vet doing them. Recently at Fiver’s last dental, the new vet wanted him under GA to scan his skull, but he was going to be anesthetized anyway… although I know this vet prefers them sleepy.
Mimzy has had spondylosis and hip spurs since he was three. He is eight now and still gets about, but is finally starting to show what a crooked little old man he is. It’s something that can be managed.
Will keep an eye out for an update. xx
