Hi I got my rabbit Kyle almost 2 years ago he is great and has an awesome personality? He is an English angora and his hair is fine and gets tangled. It is hard to get matts out so I sometimes end up cutting them out because I don’t want to stress him. Do you guys have any tips? Thanks.

The only way to avoid matts in angoras is to groom them frequently. By frequently, I mean daily. Grooming frequently also reduces the chance that he will ingest the hair and develop an intestinal blockage.

A lot of people shave or cut their angoras hair all over their body so they don’t get tangles and Matts, usually like every 1-2 months and it helps keep them cleaner after the potty too.

Thank you. I am definitely going to groom him at least 5 days a week but it can be hard because of school. And when I get a chance this weekend I will give him a haircut.
