I’ve noticed my Otis is very attached to me and only lets me pet him and pick him up. and my Mary is very attached to my fiance she’s not a very touchy bunny but if he does try and pet her she puts up with it. Same with being picked up. I’ve had both male and female rabbits but I was the only one taking care of them and playing with them. I know rabbits “choose” their slaves but do they also have gender prefrences? Just a question of curiosty.

          I don’t think they do.

I have heard female dogs get attached to men and male dogs get attached to women, but who knows with rabbits.

My boy prefers my hubby, and the girls prefer me, so I don’t think it really matters. They just pick who they pick.

And My mom in law’s dog is a girl, who adores women. She distrusts most men, except my hubby. But he spent alot of time with her. So I don’t think dogs really do either.

My female rabbit adores both myself and my boyfriend. She has shown really no preference.

I’ve heard of individual rabbits having personal preferences for women, but I have never heard of it being a general thing amongst either gender of bunny.

I’ve heard that if certain animals were abused by either gender, they’ll prefer the opposite.

Tankford is a boy and prefers me to my fiance.

I think that’s possible about the abuse part.
Otherwise, I believe they have a strong preference for individuals – human, bunny, other animal – but it’s not gender based.
It is frequently food based, however. (Man with treats, woman with toenail clippers – you do the math.)

My rabbits all like me better than my fiance because he never gives them treats. Although Stormy often gives him more kisses than I get.

Also, I feel like it is tough to make rabbits change their minds once they have decided.

I’ve had my boyfriend be the exclusive treats/food bringer for a long time now, a few months, and Tank still prefers me.
