Male scared of Female

Hello, my husband and I have a male rabbit (Atilla the Bun), who have had since he was a baby, about a year now.
We recently adopted a female rabbit (Honey Bun) from our local shelter. They have both been spayed and neutered for quite a long
Time. We started trying to bond them a couple of weeks ago. At one point, she pulled an escape artist maneuver and got into his area
And they had a pretty bad fight. They both have a clean bill of health from the vet now, and we are trying to push the bonding. Currently
When we put them in together, she is relaxed most of the time, even lounging a bit, but whenever she approaches him it tends to quickly
escalate to chasing and fighting. When she is just chilling or eating, he faces into a corner all hunched up grinding his teeth in fear. I’m
Very concerned and not sure what to do. I want them to both be safe and happy, and while she shows obvious interest and openness to bonding,
He just seems terrified of her. We’ve been stopping the fight in a variety of ways, but nothing seems to work. Please help us help them?

The fight is still likely fresh in his mind. Youll want to keep them as far apart as possible for atleast 2 months before trying to bond them. During that two month time, he should forget about the fight and possibly forget about her. If he doesnt, then youll want to try to wait longer, an added 2 to 3 months. And so on. If after the third wait, he is still terrified of her, you wont be able to bond them as he is too terrified
