  I just picked Sunny up to put him in his cage, and his penis was sticking out. This is the first time I’ve seen it, and I’m wondering if this is normal for it to be out? He wasn’t “doing anything” at the time…? Last week, he humped my hand for a brief instance-the first time I’ve ever known him to do anything like that. He is scheduled for a neuter on the 23rd. I just hope nothing is wrong.

  Not to worry. Now that he is sexually mature and ready for his neuter (so glad to hear you’ve got the appointment made) he will be getting more frequent erections. It can be visible to you, and happen when he is alone, so it’s nothing more serious. Spockie used to get them frequently and I called it his little toothpick. You may see it less frequently once he is neutered, at least after the first month, but it’s really just confirmation that you have a boy, not a girl. He will want to hump you more between now and the procedure, and even after that for a week or two, but that’s all normal.

  Your rabbit looks so much like mine! They could be brothers He even is changing color in a similar way, from lighter orange to a more light brownish agouti looking color. (from the videos I saw on your youtube link in your profile)
  
  Yours might be bigger though. How old is he in your most recent video? Sammy is 8 months and just under 5 pounds and he hasn’t been growing in the last month or so so the vet thinks he’s as big as he’s going to get.

  The most recent video, is Sunny playing outside, and he is 5 months old and just a bit over 4 pounds. He is starting to shed again, with a design on his behind. It looks cool lol. I really need to update my profile pic with a newer pic…lol

  yeah my profile picture is kind of old too! right around 6 months, Sammy started to get significantly darker, so maybe yours will go through a similar process or maybe not, who knows!
