I posted recently thinking my male rabbit had mites b/c he was missing a lot of hair on the back of his neck, however I just realized its the female pulling his hair out.
I have a male and female together. They are brother and sister and the male is neutered. The male is SUPER chill and laid back. They run together all day in my yard and when I put them back in their cage at night, the female gets very aggressive and is constantly humping the male. She chases him all around the cage and latches on to the back of his neck, trying to hump him. She even grabs on to him so hard that he literally pulls her around the cage. Is this normal behavior and okay? It only lasts for maybe 3-5 minutes and then she gives up. But I feel bad for the male rabbit- he is missing a lot of hair on the back of his neck and even his side. Would it help if we spayed her too? They are only a year old and I cant imagine the male rabbit having to deal with this for the next 10 years of his life. Will it ever stop or are the females constantly in heat???
