I have made one of these before with no problem.  I am thinking about making one for the second foster bunny I am taking in soon since he will be staying in my bedroom in the upstairs of my house.  I already have a bunch of grids that I bought from Target when I made Hugo’s pen.  Using these for Hugo wasn’t a big deal even though they had the bigger squares.  His head didn’t even fit through them!  lol

This new foster boy will be much smaller.  He a Hotot or Hotot mix.  I can’t remember.  Is there anything I can use on the larger grids to make it so he can’t get through them?  Maybe something around the outside?  I have it setup like a pen right now and all the small square grids are on the bottom and the large ones on the top.  I was just thinking he may have more fun in a condo than a pen/run.

        Any thoughts?

i would say put the big ones on the ground/ shelves so they are covered, then if there are more big ones I would say put those ones as the top of the cage.

That’s what I was thinking. Hopefully I’ll have enough small grids without using the big ones where he could get to.

Hey, at our local hardware store they have rolls of several different types of cage making material/ fencing/ mesh. It’s all very cheap! take some measurements and then use zip ties to connect it!

Bed Bath & Beyond sell grids too and its way better and sturdier than the Target ones.it come with just one size so you dont have to worry about the large spaced grids.

I used some “hardware cloth” that I got from tractor supply to cover the larger grids, but I have been able to remove them except from the backside. I ordered some from walmart http://www.walmart.com/ip/Whitmor-White-Wire-Storage-Cubes-Four-Cubes-Interlocked/5005200 and they are even smaller than the ones that I got from walmart, but I’m using those as barriers since his house is already built.
