        Hey all!

Just wondering if anyone else has had to call their internet provider to come out and replace a major wire due to a naughty bun?

Yesterday, we suddenly lost internet connections and when I went in to the computer room (where the router lives), Rocky and Napoleon had moved the barrier and Rocky was chewing on a cord!!

This barrier has been effective for years and I had just been in the room about an hour before. I have no idea what possessed them to do that. Sigh.

I would have tried to just tape it, but its a fiber optic wire, and he had pulled some of the stuff out of the wire casing.

So, this will be fun to explain to the tech lol. 🙄

LOL I have a plant in front of the fiber cables. Extra deterrent if they get through everything.

This is why I don’t actually believe in free roaming everywhere. My biggest fear is if they get through a weak barrier (just one grid height), stairs, through a room, and then damage my pianos or string instruments. I was told before that if I got specific instrument insurance, it doesn’t cover pests. Wonder if my buns are considered pests…

If someone would have asked me yesterday if buns are pests, I would have said a resounding yes! Lol

Yeah, we had an xpen in front of the corner where the wires run in from the wall to the router.

Rocky and Napoleon live in the computer room and generally aren’t destructive. Thats what surprised me so much. They have now been sequestered to the end of the room where there aren’t any wires lol.

No… but the phone charging station has about 5 spare cords on standby. After buying a replacement twice, I gave up and ordered in bulk.

Yeah, we have lost some phone charger cords, some book covers, a lamp, my laptop charging cord….we keep electrical tape on hand lol. Most of our cords have some section of tape.

I heard tape should not be used if the wires are exposed or only temporarily/emergency until you get the cord fixed. Never had damage where the wires weren’t at least a little chewed too!

I’ve lost so many vacuums… Latest was the wet vac. While it was on (cleaning their mess), no buns around what-so-ever, then went away for a couple sec to pour the dirty water out and came back to…  👿

One bun likes leather and pleather?!?!

That possibly could be true. Fortunately, we have never had a problem with electrical stuff once the wire was taped. I used my laptop charger for a few years with the cord taped.

The only issue really was the lamp. Eventually it started to cut in and out with the cord, probably extensive damage. And with the cats knocking it over (twice on my head!!!) it was becoming a death trap lol. So, it has been pitched and replaced.

My vacuum also has small knicks in the cord (nothing exposed) from buns sneaking behind me whilst vacuuming. Sigh.

I saw a meme a long time ago about power cords being “spicy hay” lol

                        There are no nicks! Lol

If he gets a cord, it is chewed into a million pieces. He very much likes to partake in the spicy hay!
