Yesterday Edson started doing this mad digging at the corner of his cage!  It lasts for about 5 -10 minutes and then he’s off.  What the heck does this mean? He’s never done this before!

I think it’s just something he’s discovered he likes doing.

Is it in the same corner or does he alternate?

He does it in one of 2 corners…

have you tried putting a diggy box in his 2 corners? HE may like that.

Do his nails need a trim?

No he had his nails trimmed Saturday at the vets.  He digs at the corner of his plastic cage! It’s so weird!

Good grief, Mimz and Pip have been doing that a lot lately too! 0_o
I think they’re trying to tunnel through to escape. 0_<
In fact Pip has actually ‘eaten through’ one minuscule piece of her plastic pen bottom…you can see daylight through it!
This sounds like one of those old Birdman of Alcatraz type movies! >_<

baby bun has always been a digger.  oddly enough – but lucky for me – she seems to dig things that are un-diggable like the hardwood floor or the plastic sign board floor in her enclosure instead of carpet.  not long ago i was watching tv & there was this faint ringing which i thought was a background noise int eh show i was watching.  turns out it was baby bun ‘digging’ away at the metal base of my swivel chair!  this is now one of her fav passtimes.  i think it’s ‘dirt tunneling replacement therapy’

maybe it’s exercise… like a boxer punching one of those big hanging bags. just working the arm muscles…

Charlie was obsessed with digging in his litter box, so I shredded up a heap of newspaper, put it into a shallow tray and he went wild. He digs all of it out of the tray and waits for me to replace everything and it all begins again. I figure that as long as it keeps him amused and prevents him from ripping th covers off my books, it’s all good
