Nettle was ill last week but is now completely back to normal and off all meds but her Panacur. I felt a tiny bump behind her ears 3 days ago, literally the size of a pinprick, which I thought was a scab from one of her many injections from the past few days. I was just playing with her when I happened to feel the area again and it’s grown hugely, it must be about the size of a 2p coin now! It’s not like a big lump, more like it’s spread out across her skin, but I can’t believe how much its grown…It didn’t feel like there was a lump under the skin, more like a big flat scab, but now I know it can’t be that so what is it?! I can’t see much but it looks like there’s sort of browny-green rough skin on top. Is this an abcess or a skin reaction? I don’t want to keep dragging her to the vets but now I have to take her again…She’s going to hate me!

Unfortunately I agree and the vet really needs to look at it.  Keep us updated!

Vet completely at a loss, as confused as I am – no sign of abcess, mites, fleas, nothing new to be allergic to…but the good news is it’s nothing bad! Just looks like a scab, despite the fact Nettle hasn’t been scratching at it and there’s nothing she could have caught it on…The vet just said Nettle obviously feels she has to continue her ‘mysterious bunny’ act. So all is fine, and Nettle is desperately full of energy and wearing me out…I’m off to look at new toy ideas now!

I’m surprised the vet didn’t figure it out, but it’s still a relief. She sounds like it isn’t bothering her and is OK. Maybe it was a bug bite that swelled and is now receding.

Behavior is the best indicator of illness, so full of energy is a very good sign.

oh my! something made vet lost. good news is Nettle is still active. most skin problems are not lethal, but really annoying it’s takes time to recover.
is that scab like being cause by ringworm ? this disease is usually more common among dogs and cats.

She didn’t think it was ringworm, was my first thought, but it really does just look like a scab that you’d get on a cut! Still a mystery where it came from though, which worries me a bit but looks like it will just have to be one of those things you never know. Nettle is so hyper it’s unbelievable…
