Lump on Charlee’s Abdomen!!

So Charlee has been having some trouble with GI Stasis, I took her to the vet a couple weeks ago for it and she improved but then her gas came back in her tummy not too long ago…everything else was normal so I tired some creative things with her hay…putting it in toys, different places to try and make her eat more and I also started giving her tummy massages to try and get everything moving. That actually seemed to help but I noticed her poop started to decrease slightly yesterday. Her eating, drinking and behavior were all normal though so I thought I’d try giving her some critical care(that was left over) to see if the extra fiber would push out some more poops…I thought that helped but tonight, I palpated her abdomen and I felt a lump, about the size of a large bunny poop I’d say and it moves around when I touch it. Charlee does not show any signs of pain when I touch it either. When I noticed this, the vet office of course was closed and because everything else seems normal shes hopping/running around, eating and everything I’m going to wake up first thing and call/take her to the vet.

I just have know idea what this could be! Does anyone have any suggests or ideas what could be the cause? Could it be a poop?

I also want to add, she has know problem laying/putting pressure on her abdomen, i.e no sign of discomfort or pain.

A blockage did cross my mind, but the fact I can move this lump seems odd to me if it is a blockage, but I don’t know anything about blockages…it was very early GI stasis before when I took her to the vet.

You can sometimes feel food in their digestive track…

This lump feels like it’s right under the skin? I felt a small lump like that on a rabbit I was looking after recently. I thought maybe it was a fatty tumour and I *think* these things are benign. I suppose a grass seed could embed itself under the skin too.

I was looking at your other threads just now. Did her running nose and sneezing ever resolve? While you are at the vet I’d ask them to look in her mouth to check her teeth.
Sometimes tooth problems can cause running nose and eyes, and sneezing. And pain from dental problems can lead to stasis. It’s important to try find out why she is getting gas and having stasis episodes.

Is the lump hard or soft? Does it move with the skin? I hope Charlee continues to do alright!

When my vet palpates my buns’ tummies, she will comment if she feels poos in the GI tract or not. That could be what your feeling. If the same lump is there in a few days, maybe you will want to get it checked out. I wouldn’t worry too much about it for right now.

I just got back from the vet, she did a full exam again(she did one a month ago too) and her teeth are still perfect. Her respiratory thing went away for about 3 months or so maybe a little more but I think the stress from this GI Stasis has caused her to start showing minor symptoms again(in the last week), i.e the slight sneeze or a tiny clear discharge have been present on a rare occasion this week. The vet gave Charlee a mobility drug to get the poops going, she did not want to give any antibiotics for the nose at this stage because the symptoms are very minor and mainly stress induced-unless they get worse of course.

The lump, I was so worried about is actually fat poking through a tiny hole from the incision site where her spaying was done. The vet popped it back up and it never popped out through the whole exam. She didn’t think it was worth putting her under just for a tiny hole that isn’t causing problems right now, I will be keeping an eye on it tho. and I really don’t want her put under again, the last time was risky enough with the tiny presence of her respiratory disease in her lungs,

I am concerned that this poop issue has re-occured, her gas is a lot better though hardly present. I’m hoping this finally nips it in the butt.

Charlee is now hiding under the bed de-stressing, too peeved off after having to go to the vet anddd get medicine. I’m sure her head is big too, after getting all those awesome complainants from the vet staff

Great news-how interesting that’s what the lump turned out to be! Thanks for updating us, am super glad to hear it’s nothing to worry about and otherwise she’s on the mend.
