*sigh* i need to randomly rant.

Lullabelle has been absolutely AWFUL lately. I know this is mostly due to her teenage hormones (she gets spayed wednesday!!!). She’s been literally tearing up my house — shes shredded the carpet in her room, pulled it from the floor, and strug it out. Shes peed EVERYWHERE — chewed through every cord (mind you that I have all the loose cords in a caged off section that she figured stragteically how to get into by climbling on top of the couch, to the end table, and down into the offlimit area). You might have read my post about her chewing through my brand new phone charger — well, shes chewed through my other one. She’s gone from being a sweet cuddley little bunny to a mean bunny. Shes biting me, scratching me, growling (its so cute), and she doesnt even want to do anything with me anymore. I havnt seen her binky in a week It makes me sad — and now i’ve got to lock her in her bedroom because she cant be trusted on the furniture anymore, since she has to mark it everytime. She literaly poops mountains on it – and pees on it constantly. I understand what’s going on, I just needed to rant to someone who would understand.

I simply cannot wait until shes spayed and this dies down. I know it wont be perfect even after she is spayed, but i do expect it to be better around the house. I’m mostly looking forward to less chewing and more litterbox usage.

Well thankyou for listening! Everyone have a great day!

Wow…she has it really bad. I have been lucky with my guy. He confines the pee and poops to the cats corner. So far the sofa and chairs have escaped his claim. After she heals (and has forgiven you for the spay) all should be well. Calming vibes to Diva Lullabelle.

she’s only a few months old — i’ve had her around 2 months and i’d say she was around 2-3 months old when i got her. I’m really not sure, but she just hit maturity these past few weeks so shes 4-6 months i’d say.

Oh my :~) As far as chewing – well, I have an older female rabbit who can never be trusted outside her puppy play pen – she shreds carpets to no end but she’s perfect with the litter box and the sweetest thing in earth. She’s never outgrown her love of redecorating the carpet unfortunately, it’s just her thing to do to keep herself entertained – nevermind the other toys, this is what makes her happy.

I’ve had other rabbits that have eased up on the chewing and digging as they have gotten older however.

It can be extremely frustrating when they behave this way – sending you calming vibes.

My sympathies to you. My mom has a four year old that went through being just awful for a while. She even bit everyone who got too close forr months, but thankfully she outgrow it and she is the sweetest thing you could want. My mother opted not to have her spayed and Luna just out grew the bad behaviour over time. Now she is my mom’s consistant companion. I can’t remember what my mom did without her. Hang in there…this too shall pass.

                    is it wednesday yet?

i was going thru the same thing… but not quite so bad with Meadow.  Meadow has never peed or pooed on the furniture, even before her surgery.  she did chew a little hole in the couch (last week… long after her surgery…???) but i put a strategically-placed pillow so the hubby hasn’t seen it yet… lol.

but things will get better.  i remember i was so nervous to make her appt, but as she acted up more and more  i found myself counting down the days… and her behavior did a total 180 immediately after the meds wore off.  hopefully, Lullabelle will have an easy time of it too.

Aaaw, poor Lullabelle’s mom…that can’t be any fun. My boy bun is only 2 months old now. Whew, I’d better get him neutered before the terrible teens set it. Sounds horrible. Hang in there! 2 more days. And LOL at Beka, hiding the bunny damage from the hubby! Just blame it on the cat.

oo i really hope the spay will help mend her naughty bunny ways. thin cords like phone chargers are absolutely irresistible to bunnies, and apparently she went to great lengths to get them. can you find a new home for your charger cord that’s way away from the bunny zone?

oh poor you & lulla!  i really hope the spay helps her behaviour… even if it takes a bit for her hormones to level out afterwards.  my bun was also a bit of a terrorist… it slowly died down as she aged but it sure was a test of my patience!  i can relate!  hang in there

Sounds like a human teenager! LOL! It is definently just her hormones.
