I’m aware of most of the common issues of reaching sexual maturity in female rabbits, and lulla is going through the typical teenage dillios. But i was wondering if it is common that urine get all over her bum, and even her back.

For the past two days I’ve had to wash her bum and even give her a bath she had so much urine all over her. I was thinking that maybe it was from spraying, or even just sitting in her urine but I’m not sure if this is normal and will stop after I have her spayed. It’s not just stained yellow, its very wet wtih urine. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

hmm, did you actually see her pee on her legs?

Is it possible that she was laying in her litterbox or perhaps peed somewhere in her house and was laying in it? I am thinking that’s the most likely culprit. Have you tried adding hay to her litterbox, since that may act like a buffer between her and the pee.

I didn’t actually see her do it … she’s just hopped out of her room a couple times with a soaky butt (thats our new name for her magesty). It is possible it is from the litter box – it just came on all of a sudden. I will try the hay thing and see if that helps any. Thanks for the advice

It is not normal for her to have urine all over her backside and legs. (unless she’s spraying like crazy) It sounds like she is getting soaked in urine, so that does concern me a bit that it might be some sort of urinary tract infection. Does she sit in her litterbox for longer periods? Does she urinate right outside of the box too?

I have noticed that she’s been sitting in the litter box more, but i havnt seen her pee outside of it besides her bed (which i replaced with towels so I could wash it, and I havnt seen any pee on them yet so thats good). She has peed on the couch, but I think that is just marking and shes been peeing in the bathroom (she has a litter box in there, but I think that is just marking too). I’m not sure if she is spraying — I havnt seen her spray. Maybe I have the wrong idea of spraying, is it like how a cat sprays? I’ve only seen her pee in those two places.

I tried the suggestion with putting hay on top of the litter in the box and it seems to have helped, i did notice a little wet butt yesterday but not nearly as bad as it has been this week.

Another thing that concerns me, since you mentioned a tract infection (i didint even think about this until just now), she has been very mean (growing, running away, biting, doesn’t want anything to do with me) and I thought that this was just her reaching maturity (she’s going to get spayed the 19th.) Perhaps that this behavior is more related to her soggy butt issue than it is her hormone issue.

Do you think i should make an appointment and try to get her in this week to make sure everything is okay or see if the butt issue improves more (which like i said, it has improved since putting hay in the litter box).

I think I would at least give them a call and be prepared to take the little doll in.
