She grunts sometimes, she honks sometimes, but now she…sighs?  I’ve only heard this noise 2 or 3 times, but it’s unlike any noise I’ve ever heard her make before.  It’s kind of like a “light honk”, but it’s very different from a honk.  I wish I knew what made her do it so I could catch a video, but all I know is the last time she did it, she was playing around on my bed.  She leaned forward, “sighed”, and went about her business.  I’m not too concerned as it doesn’t happen often, and she doesn’t seem to be in any sort of distress when she does it, but I’m just curious if anyone else’s bun does this.  She also thumps when she runs under my bed, which is just strange.

Yes, my rabbit Pepe sighs as well – I take it as contentment. I also have another rabbit Mango who is extremely vocal and thumps alot. I think some rabbits just that way – more able to express themselves.

I love when they do that. Lucy is still young, is she? My rabbits make a sound that I think is like the one you’re describing. They do it when they anticipate something possibly negative for them, like being picked up etc, or at bonding times. It’s kind of like a higher-pitch honk.

edit: could be a different sound then, like Sarita’s rabbit, there is a contentment one too, but I find that one to be a more gravelly high-pitch honk.

            (we really need sound recordings!)

Like Mango, Coco makes all sorts of vocalizations. She has one where she does what I think of as a Sigh, as she relaxes into full bun loaf mode.

It could be a curious noise too – I have heard those when she is exploring and finds something she isn’t 100% sure about, but not distressed.

The idea that Buns are silent makes me laugh, cause I have quite the show going on here!

Ruby does that.   I hold her and pet for for a little bit after Cotton goes to bed.    She will   sigh
