  So far Hatter could care less about any toys I give him, except for the ever expensive toilet paper roll! He will throw and chew that thing for over an hour. I give a store bought toy and he snubs it….go figure

  Try stuffing the rolls with hay. It makes a bit of a mess but boy do my buns have a great time when I do this. You can also put a papaya or some other treat inside the hay/roll and watch him go crazy trying to get it out!

  once i put holes in the toilet paper roll and stuck little strips of new paper through them then stuffed it with hay and they loved it

  I found my bun prefers paper towel rolls to tp rolls, for some reason. I think because they’re bigger, so he can hold them still easier while he chews. So that’s something else to give him if he loves tp rolls!

  Inspired by this thread, I filled a TP roll with hay and rolled it around with my Gazpacho who loved it. She tossed it around a little on her own after I left also. Cool idea, thanks!

  Mine still love TP rolls as well. Have you ever tried taking a small brown lunch sack, filling it w/ hay and a treat, punch holes in it and close the top and give it to your bun? These are cheap, you can make at home and put anything your babies love in it. THey will sit and root in the bag, tear the bag up getting to the hay and treat.
  
  Ive put craisins, raisins, herbs, jingle toys, etc in my babies bags and they play with them for several days.

  It might be something he’s familiar with too. I imagine this is the sort of thing they’d provide at the rescue as toys. Makes it easy to keep him entertained doesn’t it?! By the way, have you posted pics of Hatter anywhere yet?

  I also take a tp roll, put a few pieces of dried papaya in it, then fold over the ends. My bun loves throwing it around and chewing it to get out the food! I started with just folding up one end, so it was relatively easy for him to get the treats out, but once he understood the game I made it more challenging.

  I added the hay and some small pieces of carrot into the toilet paper roll and he did love it! I want to make the treat bag for him too! It is nice to know that Hatter likes the simple things in life (instead of a $5 toy…hahaha). I have recently gotten some nice pics of Hatter but I need to upload them. Sadly, he has red glowing eyes in all of them….Thanks for all the great ideas!!!
