My bunny is 4 months and I’ve had her as a house bunny for 2. She quickly learned to use her litter box, but seems to be unlearning now. She still poops quite a bit in her cage but has now started to pee in her cage as well. She was peeing routinely in the box but has stopped. She is getting fixed in two weeks and I’m hoping that helps but I’m nervous since she hasn’t fully learned to poop in the box yet. I don’t understand why she has gone backwards with peeing in the litter box. I have hay in the box and pieces of urine soaked paper towel in there. Any help?

I’m not super experienced, so take this with a grain of salt. I think what you are describing is normal as a rabbit hits puberty, male or female. Based on my reading, there’s nothing you can really do except wait until after they have been fixed and their hormones have gone down. I’m having the same “problem” with my six month old girl, and keep telling myself not to get annoying now that she’s suddenly pooping on everything…

i think OverthinkingBun is right. i’ve heard plenty on here about unspayed/unneutered rabbits and their litter training problems, and every time it seems to get better after they finally get fixed. i can’t speak from experience since i got Sienna way after she was spayed, but it seems to be discussed everywhere on here!
