› FORUM › THE LOUNGE › Looking for ideas – adoption postcards
The lady who lives across the street from us likes little yappy dogs, and she adopts them from various local shelters. When she adopted her most recent one, they gave her a packet of adoption information and included 5 post cards for her to send to her friends and family, announcing the addition of a new pet to her family. The adoption information from the shelter is included on the card, so this is a form of viral marketing for the shelter. I think this is a great idea. You can get postcards printed up pretty inexpensively using internet printers, and I think this would be a fun thing to do to promote rabbits and The Haven. The problem is, I stink at design. I have rolled around in my head various things to put on the picture side, but I am massively drawing blanks. A post card is an awfully small surface, should I include pictures of cute bunnies? Our Logo? A don’t buy, adopt message? We have a lot of creative people on BB, anyone have any ideas of what we could use?
should I include pictures of cute bunnies?Yes. Use ADEE’s pix.
Our Logo? Definitely
A don’t buy, adopt message? Yes; announce you’ve adopted, then say that.
We have a lot of creative people on BB, anyone have any ideas of what we could use? Use MimzMum’s design/layouts.
(Aren’t I good at volunteering the others?
)
LOL Pam you are too good! Osprey, I think that keeping it simple, but not too cluttered woule be the best route and that is a brilliant idea with the post cards!
(holds up hands) Ooohhh noooo! Not me, Pam! I don’t have the stuff to make really nice graphics for something that important! No talent for it either! Thanks for the nomination, but….
Binkles is the one to address regarding this. She’s the art major. ^_^ (passed the buck well there)
i have taken some graphic design courses…not a whole lot…but i will put something together real quick just to give you a starting idea…your welcome to use any of it or none of it
…i will post it here when im done just so you can have an idea!
If you ended up using shelter bunnies, maybe you could have a little doodad write-up on the back (where the address goes) to let someone know their story. You know how some scenery postcards have a little description of the location they are displaying.
front

back

of course this is very quick…i can do a better photoshop job…i could also do a less cutsie, more mature look too if you would rather…but this is just a thought ![]()
Binky i like that idea! you could put that on the back or showcase the bunny under the house on the front and put their story on the front too.
oh an P.S. i just guessed if this was the right rabbit haven lol! i hope it is, if not lemme know!
lol never mind, i just checked your website and it is the right one lol!
Ooh PeppersMum has volunteered … what a gal!
lol i like doing this kind of stuff
its what i do in my spare time, i edit photos and make brochures for my school.
Very sweet and to the point … looks great ![]()
peppersmama – love it! Very nice!! So cute!
thankyou guys! im blushing lol!
Oh I thought of an idea too. Remember when we played that game in the lounge where the word BUN had to be in another word like aBUNdance.
Maybe there are some words like that that would fit within the goal of these cards and match them with photos that would fit best. I can’t remember all of the words, I’d have to go check….
okay i am such a dork so i made another front, with binkybunnys idea for the showcase…i love doing this lol!

Just another quick photoshop job for ideas…i can do better if you want ![]()
Oh this one is very good too …. I love the bunny pic (cartoon one that is).
I like your first hit … personal preference …
Keep going though … here’s me giving my orders around lol ![]()
lol well im going to bed for the night…its 3 am here! lol so maybe some more tomorrow if osprey wants more ideas. i have to take pepper on the big move tomorrow, but im sure i will be back on tomorrow night! thanks all!
Very late there … its only 3pm here in Perth.

How about the BUN word I used in the other post…
…Bring home a new BUNdle of joy!
can someone post the logo for the society? i can seem to find a good copy of it anywhere?
This is BB in admin mode!
Peppersmama – wow you’re fast! Looks great. Really like that second one too! It gets me involved! Well, actually I like both for different reasons. The campaign could be focused in so many ways. Osprey has some great talent on his hands. Good job!
KKD – I’ll email Osprey and see if he can post a good logo here that you can use.
Mimzmum - Exactly! That line with an adorable photo…..AWE!!!
Helloworld!!

thats where i got my logo…it like 500 pixels…biggest i could find
PeppersMama – that is great!
I love this idea as well. Definitely use a shelter rabbit – does RabbitHaven have a “mascot” rabbit? If so that would be a good rabbit to use.
Here is the best logo I have: This one is 150 x 110.

We do not have a mascot bunny , we have adopted out thousands over the years. Here are a couple of my favorite photos of adoptables from over the years:

Well they are all cute – I don’t think I could choose.
What about Benny?
The website looks fantastic too.
::SWOON::
Words cannot express how CUTE THEY ARE!!! I better be careful or else I’ll become the crazy lady with all the rabbits. (And I thought I aspired to be the crazy lady with all the dogs.)
the text looks much bolder in my copy, dont know why its abit hard to read now ive uploaded it? i will have a look so just ignore that for the mo! hehe
PeppersMama,
Those are terrific! I am partial to the first one.
I now feel guilty and may take a stab at it (now that everyone’s posted all the pieces.)
BTW, who said you only should have one design? If not just postcards, then a pack of note cards.
lolz Pam, you mean like the playing cards they altered for the “most wanted” in Iraq? xD
‘Cept these will be (hopefully) the most wanted Bunneh Gang!
I botched this a bit in places but it’s an idea for the front, from your suggestions:
That’s GREAT Pam, I love it!!!!
Ooohhh so many to choose from … they are all wonderful … good idea … produce a deck of em! Could do a batch for Xmas too
… maybe sell them all profits to the society.
I really like photos that display rabbits as indoor pets, e.g. sitting on a couch watching TV, or hanging out on a bed, or things like that because I think it really changes people’s perception of a “hutch bunny” to a “companion animal.”
I think all the examples so far are fantastic! I also think maybe a photo of Adee’s with no writing, just a really nice photo would be great, it would then make it really easy for people to hang up the card on their fridge or at work etc. (Maybe one of those photos from the “pigging out” post in the lounge!
