        Do long haired rabbits need a different diet from short haired rabbits? And also does anyone have any general tips for owning long haired rabbits?Its for the new BABY bunnies diet.She is coming home tuesday she is a jersey wooly.

          Being a baby, diet shouldn’t differ too much from short hair rabbits. Good quality alfalfa pellets in unlimited amounts. Hay, fibrous hay would be ideal for long hair breed. It’s probably best she stays in what she is currently being fed and then you can slowly transistion her onto what you prefer to feed.

              I know that Sammy, who is short haired, adores her Oat Hay, and it has led to a very silky coat. If your bunny likes Oat, try that. But the best standby is Timothy, just lots of it.

                  My long haired eats the same as the other three. Key is just ensure lots of hay-like RP says-timothy is the tried and true Oat is great too

                    My understanding is that long-haired breeds, like angoras and jersey wooley’s can have a bit more protein in their diet than short-haired bunnies. Some hays, like Teff, and pellets may have more protein. What kind of “long-haired” bunny do you have?
