I can see the rex now really well in her. Nice pen. What type of mesh did you use?
That dewlap is nothing at all, hardly there. It may get bigger over time.

I wonder if it can be chewed through.  With mine, I may have to go with some wire cloth to be safe. It is like mosquito screening but made from wire.

You know your rabbit has a big dewlap when grooming it takes her a long time.

                        do you have a door?

It probably can be chewed through, she has yet to attempt that though, she usually always has pellets or veggies or toys and always hay to play with and tempt her instead of the sides lol. I wanted chicken wire or something like that, but BF got that instead lol, and it was only 10 bucks for 30 feet of it.

and mocha200, no there is no door. I can step over it to get in and clean it, and to pick her up and put her on the other side for free time. She doesn’t get free roam because I have 2 dogs that are VERY boisterous (nice to her, just want VERY much to play with her).

haha no problem! The only thing you cant see is that the base is 8 2by4’s (4 are 4 feet long and 4 are 8 foot) and each pair made and L shape for the base and the sheet of plywood sits in there. Also im pretty sure he put another 2by4 in the middle for support so it doesnt bend in the middle.

That looks great! Definitely gives her so much more room than that teeny cage!

I would strongly recommend that you consider replacing the plastic mesh sides with something more durable as soon as possible. My mind automatically goes to the dangers, b/c we’ve seen and heard really bad things on this site and other places. She could do a quick job of that mesh in no time at all (once she figures out she can)… And if you’re concerned about safety with the dogs, that would be bad for her to get out. If she gets out while you are away and the room is not 100% bunny-proofed, this could pose risks as well. Or… she may chew it and ingest the plastic pieces. They’ll sometimes chew in places that you might not notice right away. It would also be possible for her to start to chew it, make a small hole, try to get out, get trapped and injure herself… (or worse.)

So, I’m not trying to be a “Debbie Downer”… I really do like the design and idea, but it’s important to make a few modifications to ensure that it’s absolutely safe.

Wow – nice spacious pen place for her! NICE. I do agree with Beka though about considering replacing the plastic with the wire. That plastic also seems flexible…like a boisterous dog could lean it down a bit and jump over…or even vice versa. It may be just the way it looks in the photo.

But otherwise, the structure itself is a wonderful spacious bunny place!
