bunnyproofing is vital. there are cord covers you can get, or you can block off the entire cord area (for example by your tv or computer) by constructing a cage with NIC cubes. i’d also try and block off the back of the couch. buns can cause major damage to soft furniture, and it’s not good for them to eat that stuff. your best bet would be to crawl around the room and anywhere you don’t want the bunny going, block it off. you may also want to keep the bedrooms off-limits. if you have a living room, dining room, kitchen and hallway, that should be a good amount of space for running. as soon as you bunnyproof, the rabbit will find a way to outsmart your system, so be prepared for trial and error. but bunnyproofing is all about safety for bunny and peace of mind for you. if you do a good job, you should feel secure enough to leave the room to use the bathroom or do something in another room without constant worry.
