so we were stupid and bought an accual bunny litter box… we didn’t buy the bigger square one (#$@!ing 30$ for a piece of plastic &#160 but rather the second biggest, the one that has som extra round space instead of being just a triangle… but the poor thing, his butt will stick out from time to time and he’ll miss the spot… am I to expect he’s going to start understanding he needs to squeeze in a bit more or should I get him a cat litter? accually… I already got one, should I give it to him instead of his bunny one? Should I cut it up so the walls won’t be to high? He’s still a baby bun after all.,,, but he’s a good jumper, it’s about as tall as the kitty litters we can see in the litter training tutorial here.

I’d recommend getting a bigger one that fits both the bunny and the space. You want him to be comfortable in it so he has no reason to be reluctant to use it. Ultimately, it will keep him litter trained. Many bunnies grow quite a bit before reaching full maturity, and a litter pan will need replacing from time to time.

My bunny was rather large (8 lbs. at max weight) and I had no problem with the largest bunny litter pan that was the corner triangle with the lower front. But so many others here have great set ups with different types of pans that I think you can find a better suggestion. Also, be sure to put in a bit of hay in the corner to make it a positive experience.

I tryed the cat litter and the little guy accually like jumping on it xD it takes a bit more space in his cage though… but on the other hand, I think it’s going to make litter training smooth enough for him to get more outside time for exercise and stuff

cat boxes work fine. where i live, you can buy a medium size cat box for about 5 bucks, the triangle bunny boxes are 12 bucks, so there is a big difference.

Sounds like you figured it out! How’s he doing now?

well, my boyfriend made me notice yesterday that it’s been a while since he pooped arround everywhere, so we’re starting to give him a bit more outside time, and funny enough, he seems to enjoy his new little box, I gess it’s less hassle for him then to try to squeeze his butt in the smaller one, especially since he still has some growing to do o_o
