I had been wanting a litterbox with screen from the BB store ever since I saw it. I got it recently and I am officially a fan! With it, I can even use peat moss as litter material, something that I saw mentioned on the HRS site as possible material. Normally, my buns would dig out something as enticing as it but with the screen — no way!

how do they know it is a litter box if they can’t feel the litter?

I know a few people useing them. I’ve nevre but I use cage bottoms as litter pans so they are huge LOL, that’d be one big screen.
Whats the benifits of peat moss?
How are your bunnies liking it?

That looks so great! Does it change how much litter you go through at all?

Mocha, they know because I put hay or grass on top which they eat up, they also know by the smell.

yes, it savs litter so it saves $. no sore hocks because it is flexible, it has give. It isn’t like a regular grate that would be stiff. It sits on top of the soft litter material and bends as the bun steps on it. I have two rexy bunnies and no sore hocks. Will observe their feetsies and let you know

I’ll be watching your progress. If only to read about Rex feetsies.

Also the grate has very small openings so it is easy on their feet.

I have one too. I also really like them. The big plus for me is that they are super easy to clean, (well compared to the grid I was using before).

To ditto what moonlight Wolf said, the screen is tighter netted so that the heels are resting on a particular wire, with that said though— with Rex feet, I think it’s always good to put a bit of soft hay down even if you just have hard pelleted litter.
