Litterbox crazyness

Holly cracks me up. The last two times I cleaned Holly’s litter box I noticed something. It doesn’t matter if she’s already gone potty, she still has to go when I”m changing her box.  The first time I noticed this as soon as I put the box down with fresh hay and litter she jumped in and did her business. The second time she got too excited and left a buddle on the plastic guard.

That’s cute. Pumpkin has a “thing” with her house. I have two houses and if I change the placement of the houses (like put them at different corners), she’ll pee right buy the house. If I put it where it belongs (I mean, the way that she approves it), then she wont pee.

YES! Cadbury will always jump in her box and go to the bathroom when I’m cleaning it! And yes, we’ve had the puddle on the plastic bottom, before I’ve had a chance to put the litter make in. That drives me crazy! Especially when I’m trying to scoop around her. I guess they just want to make sure their scent stays in there?

My buns always immediately put a couple of bb’s into a clean litter pan.

Maryann is now digging away the litter in order to make a puddle. Funny thing is that when Dono hops in, he buries it.

I’m glad I’m not the only one whose bun doesn’t seem to appreciate the hard work I go to making sure the cage/litterbox/etc. is clean and neat. Mimzy goes straight in and potties the minute I drop it into the pen. I keep thinking, ‘Goodness, I must’ve been too late, he’s been holding it all this time?’

 

Now I know better. He’s worse than a door-to-door salesman…has to leave his calling cards so you remember to come back. ^^

i take it out of the room outside because i have to dump all the stuff. thankfully she has never gone to the bathroom outside of it when i’m gone. she’s pretty good at holding it

aww soo cute, hopscotch hates his house being cleaned, he goes mad and starts digging and putting stuff everywhere getting it back to how he likes it.. apparently im not a good interior designer lol

I am beginning to think bunnies like a little mess in their area. I no longer clean out and vinegar/water wash the litter pans/cages every morning and night, but just scoop the soiled litter and replace it with fresh and I get a lot less box tossing and general consternation afterwards. I don’t let it get out of hand, mind. Any stray messes get cleaned and sterilized and old hay is replaced with fresh and all hair picked out if it, but I cleaned out Pippi’s whole cage the other day and she threw a fit over it and thumped at me for about half an hour.
I guess as long as they aren’t complete slobs, they like a little bit of ‘scent’ in their homes…kinda like our little air fresheners we use to make the place smell ‘homey’. ^_^

For me (sorry, a bit of an OT moment here) the house doesn’t have a Christmas feel to it at that time of year unless there’s some sandalwood candles burning…which is weird, I know. Let’s just say I grew up in the age of the Fuller Brush Man with a mom who could spend like it was burning a hole.

I guess the smell of a few nice new bb’s are just the thing to make a bun’s area cozy. lolz….(could you just imagine a nicely dressed buck coming up and knocking on the cage door to ask the doe of the house if he could interest her in a few ‘sundries’?)

hehehehe….too much sugar in my coffee….sorry! >.<

Hee hee They like to keep us on our toes, don’t they?! Freddy thinks the entire house is his warren so I get in trouble if I do any kind of moving furniture around. He thumps and nips at my socks! Good excuse not to clean under the couches though!

Luey is outside his pen when I am cleaning his bedroom … he will generally sit at the pen door opening with his back to me and then when I have finished go inside and sniff everything inside out … oh fuss pot he is!  Gotta put everything back in its spot.
