        Hey guys,

I got an English Angora at a pet fair a month ago. So far so good but I’m having trouble litter raining him. I always make sure the box is open, clean and rinsed out (it still has the basic smell he needs to recognize what it is.) the problem is when Is getting his exercise for the day he tends to perch in certain parts of the house like the back of the couch or in the spare bedroom’s bed and usees the restroom. urinating is very uncommon but can happen. On those spots I always use either bleach or white vinegar to clean the spots and hopefully elimate most of the smell so that he doesn’t associate the spot with that anymore.

I am having trouble getting him to not use the spots even though they’ve been cleaned in some cases very very well so I don’t understand how I’m going to be able to let him free room if I can’t trust him not to go to his box.

I would really appreciate any help that any of you could give me in the way of pointers or just advice from a long time rabbit owner.

        Thanks!

Is he neutered? And how old is he?

So firstly, unneutered buns have a tendency to mark their territory by peeing on things. And all bunnies seem to have an urge to pee on soft things ?This is particularly noticeable with soft things that have a strong human scent, like a bed or a sofa. You could try giving him a blanket for a few days, then moving it to the bed so that it already has his scent on it.

It can be tricky to litter train an unneutered bunny though unfortunately. You can try putting some more litter trays in different rooms. Often if they need to move room for a litter tray, they’ll just decide it’s too much effort.
