At what point did you give in to your bunny’s stubbornness and move the litter tray to where your bunny likes to go?
My minilop is 8 weeks. The breeder doesn’t use litter boxes, as far as I can recall.
Early on he seemed to poop everywhere apart from the litter box. In his indoor run, I am trying to redirect him but i’m too slow, and he’s too fast. Sometimes he doesn’t even lift his tail; sometimes it seems to just come out when he’s periscoping. Or jumping out of the litter box! I managed to get him to follow the poop a few times as I put it in the litter tray (though I worry that might that might just be teaching him that I’ll just pick up after him :p )
The first overnight he spent with us, he popped everywhere in his hutch, though he only pee’d in one side.
I cleaned it thoroughly to try and dissasociate that side with toiletting.
During the day he seemed to zone in on the enclosed area, so my wife moved the litter tray to where this corner; he seems to be pooping in there more often now.
Is it possible to move the litter tray around, or is it better to leave it there? Should I be concerned if he spends a lot of time in there, just sitting and grooming?
I also changed from paper to a cereal box as he seems to like the cardboard on indoor run. Are some rabbits fussy about the layers?
