I’ve noticed some hair strands in Monty’s poo so I think I need to improve my brushing technique. Do you lift up the fur and brush the hair underneath and do it in layers or just brush the top?  Monty doesn’t like being brushed but I still manage to do it every day to some extent. I really struggle to brush him under his chin though. Is the Furminator completely pain-free for the rabbit? It seems a bit drastic, but I’m considering it cos I don’t want him eating so much fur when he grooms himself. Are there any extra precautions I need to take when I find lots of hair in his poo other than brushing him more? When it gets a bit warmer I’ll give him a nice haircut but right now it’s -1.

        Currently using these:

Edit: whoops. Should have put this in the other category. Sorry!

I have a slicker just like yours for my teddy lionhead bun. I brush him in layers, from the inside and out. He’s not a total fan of being brushed, but he accepts it.

I have a furminator for my GSD dog, and it works well for her undercoat. It would not work for my bun, it’d get entangled in his fur and be painful for him.

Long-haired buns as a rule get more manageable fur when their adult fur comes in.
