I removed the blanket i put in her cage and scooped the poops. She peed on the cage floor and started licking it.
Is this due to some after-spay behavior? Is this a bad thing for her body? She didn’t do anything like this before.
About her healing time: The vet prescribed me Rivanol. He said that i just take a cotton ball, soak it with some Rivanol and dab onto the wound. Also they’re taking out her stitches next Saturday.

I’m not so sure but, I reasearched a little and I read that your bunny might not be ingesting enough salt, so her licking her urine (it’s salty) gives her body the salt she needs. Many owners put a miny salt lick in their rabbits cage. Or maybe your rabbit is not, or can not reach its water, so is forced to drink its own pee to ingest water. Hope this helped!

Rabbits don’t actually need salt licks, I love bunnies.

I’m not sure about licking urine though. I wonder if she’s in pain after her spay? Were you given pain killers? I’m not sure what Rivanol is, we were given oral painkillers rather than something that is dabbed directly onto the wound.

Sirius&Luna: Rivanol Is a yellow fluid (the color resembles olive oil to me) and based on how much i know is that it’s used for disinfecting a wound. She wasn’t given any pain killers.
When i bought a salt lick for Mile, it had some treats in it and he ate most of the time just treats. He didn’t even lick the salty part. I won’t try that with Bella.

I love bunnies!: She has fresh water at her reach and she drinks it often. Can’t seem to figure out the culprit, the internet doesn’t have any clear information..

How long ago was she spayed? A spay is quite an invasive operation, so generally bunnies are prescribed painkillers for 5-7 days afterwards. Is she eating and pooping normally?

Does she normally use a litter tray?

Since you’ve just had her spayed, I personally would call the vet think it’s worth double checking. I would also ask for painkillers, if it’s only a couple of days after the spay.

I’d too call the vet and ask for a pain killer. Metacam (meloxicam) is well tolerated by rabbits.

As for licking pee, this happens sometimes. I havent managed to find that it mean something bad. Science might yet reveal some reason for this behavior, but it doesn’t seem to be an indication that sth is wrong.
