Today I called the seller of the fleece bed I’ve had in Buddie’s cat tunnel. He used it extensively throughout the winter to sleep in throughout the days and was always all snuggled up in it, but ever since I got the cardboard mini-haven in place, he seems to prefer that seclusion for dozing, sleeping, and all round lounging even though there’s no cushions in there on which to rest his head like there is on the fleece bed with its bumper all along the rim. He’s barely been inside his bed tunnel at all except as an extension of his other plastic tunnels to hop through to get from the entrance to the exit.  Today I called the seller of the bed and asked if he thought the fleece is too warm for this time of year.  He said the thing buyers do is put the bed inside a cool fabric pillowcase tp keep it cool & comfortable during fair weather. I put the bed inside a pillowcase and wedged it inside the inside room of his mini-haven Buddie likes to hang out in. He’s been in there licking the pillowcase to death!  Doesn’t seem to be chewing it, just licking it. So far, he hasn’t slept in there on the bed inside the pillowcase.  I guess I will have to give it time to see if he takes to sleeping on it.  The pillowcase has been washed many times and used by me for my sleeping and maybe he smells my smell on the pillowcase and is grooming it?  There are bright red designs on the fabric of the pillowcase but I think it’s been washed enough times to take out any intense dye that it might have had when new.  Has anyone else had a bunny that excessively licks, licks, licks his bedding?  Is this safe and normal?  Thanks!

My bunny does nothing but lick our furniture, mostly the arm part of our couch. And he LOVES to lick my husbands pillow case. Weird, but it makes them happy. ;o)
