I hope game threads are allowed? They get bumped a lot and can be obnoxious, but this thread doesn’t seem to move very fast, so I think it will be okay, right?

Anyway! It works like this: I’ll ask a question about your (you= whoever posts next) bunny, you answer, then ask another question! Like this:

Poster 1: What color is she?

Poster 2: White with black spots. What’s her favorite toy?

Poster 3: A good ol cardbord box! How much does she weigh?

and so on! They can be silly questions, it doesn’t matter, the idea is to learn a lot about other people’s rabbits, even silly or innane facts, and to exercize your mind thinking about questions! You are more than welcome to use my examples, and it’s okay to repeat a question already asked, HOWEVER, if you have already answered a question, don’t answer the same question agian! Make sense? (: Let me know if you’re confused.

What is something funny your bun did recently?

Did a complete roll when flopping! It was Rumball and his flops are normally a sort of loaf-flop if that makes sense. So to see him completly roll over was funny and very cute. Especially seeing him white belly-up and then his face when he finished facing the other way. Jersey does it too on occasion but this was the first time I saw him do it.

Who was the last person who was completely enchanted by your rabbit/rabbits?

Oh gosh, the last person enchanted by my rabbits was my grandfather on my mom’s side. He was on his stomach playing with Indy and Bee and trying to coax Bee into being held. It didn’t work but Papa thought she was the cutest thing he has ever seen! Yes…an 80 year old man on my bedroom floor on his stomach playing with them LOL! I wish I took a photo.

How did you come across your rabbit(s) ?

A site my friend gave to me, because I was having trouble finding a rabbit .. I had some fall outs with other breeders.

I know its wrong, but that is how I got my little Chacha.. I love her to pieces.

I saw photos of a litter of black otters and black nethies. I emailed the breeder and she sent me photos of rabbits available. She sent me 2 photos, one of 2 tort bucks. The other of my baby ChaCha. I fell in love with the little one at first sight and I gave her a name before I met her LOL

Do your bun(s) love to kiss you if you put your face up to him/her?

No. Ever since I told her she couldn’t drive she refused to go out.

My apartment is all hardwood flooring, so the only place the Bunny 500s actually work are on the bed, the couch, or – the cutest of all – on my yoga mat.

What does your bunny do when they’re less than impressed with their slave?

the bunny butt is the mail punishment. If I’m working in their room, they make sure and change position to keep that tail aimed right at me.

Pringles will throw everything, and I mean everything out of the top floor of the condo.

Yes. They are both in two different cardboard hidey houses. The one hidey house is lookin’ a bit “rough around the edges”… maybe time for a new one?

What is the single best thing you’ve ever bought for your bunnies (not counting consumables: hay, litter, etc…)?

The maze haven, hands down. Both bunnies love it and spend all of their time in it. I’ve tried giving them other boxes (especially when we travel and can’t take the maze) but they’re not really interested in anything other than the maze. It’s a den and a toy all in one.

What is your favorite rabbit color?

Hmmm well I love Leroy’s fur, the grey parts are varigated fown the shaft… at the ends (the outside ends) the fur is grey, then in the middle, the fur is various shades of tan and brown, and near the skin, the fur is white. I don’t understand it, but I love it!

Also, I love orange bunnies, like the color of member Nibbles’s bunny

What’s the most recent thing your bunny has destroyed?

Otto likes if I throw a fleece blanky over his head. He’ll nose around until he gets his head out, then turn around and burrow back into the blanket. Neither of my buns sit on them though.

Haha, no! I too, am a chewer. I chew on everything, the remote, my sleeves, anything I hold for lengthy periods of time while idling, my boyfriend…. as it stands, no one tells me what I can and cannot chew on, and I like it that way xD

I would be very, very angry, and probably never talk to them again. All of my friends know I’m a bunny owner, and I won’t eat anything that I’ve had as a pet.

My 3 girls have all had a lot of attitude, the boys are sweeter.

If my friends did that to me, I would be so very angry and never ever trust them again. I’ve eaten rabbit when I was younger, I have nothing against it, but I don’t want any more since I’ve had them as pets. That would be the lowest trick I could think of.

A blue otter, gray otter, or orange Netherland dwarf. I am a lover of small bunnies. But, I want to own a flemmie one day And a silver fox! Those are SO GORGEOUS and look so lovable!!!! I want to own many bunnies one day.

omg yes. When I first brought Tank home, we stopped to get a pop, and I took Tank out of the car to set him on the ground in the parkinglot because it was cooler, and I was all, “Awwwh who’s the prettiest bunbun in the whole world? You aaare! You aaaare !” and then when I stood up, there was a man in his van, within kissing distance from me, staring at me because he couldn’t see the carrier on the ground that I was talking to. xD

Every time I browse BB…probably 1-4 times a day, depending on how bored I am…then any time he comes up in conversation, and of course when it’s time to feed him.

No Monkey doesn’t groom anybunny but Moosie, and Moosie grooms EVERYTHING except me, the floor, the cage, his bear, his Monkey, the couch, his blankie, the wall, the window….

Hannah’s favorite naughty thing to do is get into any area she’s not supposed to go. If it’s off limits, she sees it as a challenge! Oh, and noise making at 5am is a favorite (though I’ve only had to sleep with her in my room a handful of times, so I can’t hear it most days).

Otto never does anything naughty because he’s perfect 😛

Does your bunny come up on the couch with you?

If you could change one thing about your bunny housing, what would it be?

I wish my bunny housing didn’t look so messy and cluttered! No matter how clean I keep it, there will always be chewed up cardboard and some hay scattered around. And just having a pen and cage in my house is cluttered as it is. But I recently toned down my bunny proofing which satisfied my need to reduce clutter.

Are your bunnies allowed on the bed?

No. Do they go up there? Yes.

Max could really care less about the bed, but if I leave the bedroom door open, it’s like a mad bolt to my room. Meadow jumps immediately on the bed, and Max surveys the room and sniffs out each and every corner.

Your bunny can eat ONE THING for the rest of its life (with no regard to expense and/or ill effect to health), what is it?

No, they’re not allowed on the bed becasue I have allergies and having them bouncing all over the pillows doesn’t help me feel any better, lol. Also, someone likes to pee up there and it’s most unpleasant to crawl into bed and find that you’re lying in a wet spot and then to have to change the sheets when I’m tired At least I have a mattress cover on my bed, haha. And yet every time I turn my back on them, the buns are on the bed They like being places they’re not supposed to.

Ok and I’m going to cheat a bit because I want to answer the question about the strangest place you found a poop. Try the shower. The bunnies like to get into my clean laundry, and one morning I had pulled a towel out of the clean laundry basket, and I guess, as I was drying off in the shower, it fell out of the towel then! I was so surprised to find that one lone poop in there! Gross.

If you had to choose between never having a bunny again or having all the bunnies you wanted but loosing 10 years off your life (sheesh – I think the worry my buns cause me sometimes is going to prematurely kill me anyway, lol) which would you pick?

My buns are pretty good at this. Frankie is one of those rare bunnies that lets you pick him up and handle him and will lay flat on the ground for head rubs as soon as you approach lol. So he is easy to pick up and place in his crate, he doesn’t squirm at all. Sully really loves being in his crate anyways so after having the day outside, when I open the door he hops right in, or if I just tap his bum and push him in the general direction, he usually gets the idea. I think I’m lucky! lol

Who was your first bunny (even if they are no longer with you) and what was your favourite thing about them?

Mr. Bunny. My favorite thing about him is how affectionate he is…and I also love how determined he is to get raisins, and ofc his ears.

What is the most annoying thing your bunny has chewed?

The only thing Otto chews that he’s not supposed to are magazines. I used to keep issues of magazines under the coffee table, on the shelf, but he always steals them. I don’t care that he puts teeth marks in them, but he’ll rip off big pieces and eat them and the glossy paper isn’t good for him. I miss the days when I could store stuff under there!

Hannah got behind the tv once, for mere seconds, and chewed an audio cord. We were having problems figuring out why one speaker wasn’t working while playing video games and my husband found a cord with a suspicious chew mark. I don’t know how she could’ve done it, but I think she did. Luckily she got one of the cheap cords the replacement was only $5.

They don’t chew furniture and we’re very careful to keep everything else off the floor and away from curious teeth.

What is your bunny’s binky style? Straight up in the air? Twists and turns?

Mr. Bunny used to do huge, impressive binkies where he flung himself high in the high while twisting and turning his shoulders and head…
But then he had a terrible accident where he did that directly into a wall – so hard I was afraid he broke something.
After doing literally no binkies for about 8 months, he just recently cautiously started doing binkies again…but now, he makes sure that he’s not near a wall, and then he just takes a huge hop where he wiggles his shoulders and tail.

How many inches/cm long are your bunn(ies)’s ears?

From the crown of the head, Hannah’s are 4.5″ each and Otto’s are 4″ each. I got some weird looks when I came at them with a tape measure! lol

Has your bunny ever stolen any human food? What was it? Did they like it?

Ah.. well, ChaCha doesn’t bother with human foods. I mean, when I first got her and had her for 2 weeks – my bf and I got teriyaki and she was in her cage at the time. She look very curious and her nose went twitching like crazy lol.

I had a can of Pepsi on the living room floor and I wasn’t looking at it at the time and she went to lick the top of the can T____T I freaked out! It was my fault.

Otherwise, she just licks the evaporation from my drinks

How often do you groom your bun(s)? What is their reaction to being groomed?

As little as possible! Haha. I only brush Otto when he’s shedding and he hates it. I end up locking him in the cage and putting my arm in from the top and chasing him around with the brush. I try to pull of tufts when he’s out and about, but he’s not appreciative of that either.

Hannah actually enjoys it, but she hasn’t really started a shed in the time I’ve had her, so I’ve only brushed her a few times.

What’s the best way to trim your bun’s nails? Burrito? Trance? Or are they so good that they just sit there while you give them a manicure?

Usually, I have to both trance and burrito Mr. Bunny, since he hates having his feet touched and trances very lightly. I usually have to do it in two or three sittings too, since I can never keep him tranced more than a minute or two.

Have you ever licked your rabbit? If so, what was their reaction?

Lol, I have never licked my bunnies! I have given them kisses on the head and nuzzle their noses though which they seem to appreciate!

What made you first decide to get a bunny? And how did you choose him/her?

I got a bunny since we couldn’t have a dog – we’re still in an apartment, and at the time I was traveling every week for work. We’re not cat people (and I’m allergic) so I started researching other pets and settled on rabbits. I really wanted a holland lop, so I found a local breeder and got one from her. I thought I got first choice of broken colored boy buns, but apparently someone else got to pick before me. Otto was actually my last choice, based on the pictures 😮 How silly of me! Obviously he’s the cutest rabbit in the world 😛

Do you collect bunny decorations/statues/pictures now that you have a bunny?

I collect by default, that is everyone is always giving me bunny stuff!

What is your favorite bunny color?

Oh, hard choice. I like fawns and steels a lot. I can tell you white is my least favorite pretty easily.

How did you pick your specific bun/s? Was it the way they acted? Their appearance? Whether they’d bond to your others or not?

I was first attracted to Sully by his looks (bad I know!) but I loved the broken cream colouring. Anyways, I went to meet him and fell in love with him. He was a love bug and was calm and easy to handle. I was originally looking for a girl when I found Frankie. The lady only had Frankie left and kept telling me how wonderful he was so I decided to take him! I am glad I did too!

Also, my favourite colour right now is the sable points and smoke pearls… i just think they are gorgeous!

 

How do your friends/relatives react to you having bunnies? Do they understand keeping bunnies as pets or do they think you’re crazy? Most people I know don’t really know anything about bunnies and don’t understand what great house pets they can be.

Reply to fluffy bunny… that was my next question.. i was curious about that… i do! i groom hershey and twix wont let my bring my face close enough to.. im not allowed to just give hershey nose rubs anymore… so i suggest not starting…

I actually like the fact that bunnies are small! Makes it easier to have more!! haha jk, but really, I am around big dogs and big horses all day, it’s nice to have my little bunnies to chill out on the floor with. It’s also nice for apartment dwellers who can’t have dogs. And imagine the michief they would get into if they were dog size! Haha, imagine a german shepherd size rabbit doing binkies across your living room! Destruction!

Next question: If you had to move across the country, would you take your bunnies with you?

Has your bunny ever escaped from his/her cage and given you a big surprise?

Yes! Frankie is a little Houdini! He frequently jumps out of his pen and one day I walked into the room and he had peed and pooped all over the floor! He hopped up to me innocently as if to say “Wasn’t me mom!” lol He’s also jumped into Sully’s pen (they aren’t bonded) and thankfully no fighting happened.

Are your bunnies harness/leash trained? If so, how did you do it? If not, how come?

It’s easy enough for me to get photos, since my Mom loves taking bunny pics and has an amazing camera…and I dislike printed tshirts (ignore the fact that I’m wearing one now ), so I’d have to say the painting.

What do you plan to do when the unfortunate time comes of your bunny passing away, such as memorials, etc?

My first bunny, Little Sugar, was cremated and I have her ashes in a little carved wooden box on one of my shelves next to a photo of her and the candle I burned for her while I was grieving. I plan to do the same for my other bunnies. I know some people think keeping the ashes is creepy, but it’s comforting to me, I know she’s not there anymore. Unless I point it out to a visitor, no one notices.

Is your bunny a picky eater?

I plan to make pillows from fur I brushed from them, and put them on my mantle so I have a piece of them forever. I’ll also have them cremated so I don’t have to worry about burying them and then moving someday.

If you were a bunny, what kind of bunny mate would you pick? For instance, if you were my Monkey, would you pick the shy dutch man, or the scared or death orange guy?

No, he truly isn’t. There’s been no food that he’s ever tried that he wouldn’t eat.

I plan to get my bun cremated and then get a little hollow rabbit figurine that looks like him to put the ashes in…I’ve always thought that that would be a cute way to remember a bunny.

I think that Samantha is picking up being picky habits from me. I haven’t met a man yet that I married and I think my Sammy is a similar diva.

No bunny dreams 🙁 At least not any that I can remember.

I did have a dream about my gerbils years ago that I can share instead. I was on a medicine (prednisone) that gives me super weird and vivid dreams. One night I dreamt that the gerbils lived in the bathtub – a bathtub full of water. The adults lived on the bottom and just walked around. They also had babies, little pink ones with no fur yet, that floated on top, doing the backstroke. LOL I still remember that dream, probably 15 years later.

Max is Max b/c I liked the name and wanted something one syllable that started with an M.

Meadow is named after Meadow Soprano from the HBO series “The Sopranos”.  The show had ended shortly before we adopted her, and there was just something about those big brown eyes.

Nah… Lol. Pee doesn’t have any bacteria, and I clean it up right away with paper towels and a water/vinegar mixture and vinegar is a natural disinfectant. And I figure the poop is just processed hay and veggies, so I don’t bother when I’m just picking up a few here and there off the floor I do; however, make a point of washing my hands before touching my face, eating, or cooking or after cleaning the cage or doing litter boxes.

Have you ever heard/smelled your bunny fart?

Hm. Sorry, this probably isn’t an interesting answer, monkeybun. But, my rabbits don’t eat enough veggies! They don’t find anything that interesting! But, I would have to say that I hate washing Basil to give them. Pew! (I hope I’m remembering right…. I think it’s basil…. lol)

Also, for a dream rabbit, I just want to answer … I have him! I love blue eyed white anything. I also love black eyed white anything. I would never deny an animal a home solely based on looks, but as of now, I’m not to fond of red eyes. But they are growing on me quickly. Benny has steel gray/bluish eyes. He is mostly white, with light grey points. So, I guess I ALMOST have my dream rabbit. But I wove bof my bunbuns equal! But, they aren’t cuddlers, or even that social (I’m still trying to break them in ) which is what my dream bunny would be!

Okay! If someone said “Oh, rabbits are the sweetest, most innocent little creatures alive” how would you respond? Something proving them wrong… like an example would be “I swear I heard my rabbit growl at me once!”. Just to make answering harder, try not to use anything related to bonding, but if you can’t think of anything else, it’s fine. Oh, and it doesn’t have to be something to do with them being mean! Just…. opposite of “innocent and sweet”.

Leyley, I chose my bunny on looks too lol. But she has a sweet personality and has calmed down since getting spayed. Of course, she foot flicks me when she grabs a piece of lettuce off her plate and runs off to hide and eat it. She’s smart, she knows I will try to pet her lol.

If someone told me that bunnies are innocent, I would say:

Bunnies can be, but for the most part, they all have their own unique personality, and aren’t shy about having it known. Bunnies have attitude and will beg for their snacks and foot flick when they are grumpy.

How many bunnies would you like to own? Or do you have that much now?

Ideally, I would love to have another bunny or two, but I don’t want separate pairs. So unless I was *guaranteed* a trio or quartet, I would’t even attempt it. My house is too small for different territories.

LOL! NO! wouldn’t attempt! Liily’s pretty laid back for a bun, but there’s no way he’d let me dress him. Unless it was something he could like hop into & dress himself! His back would be turned to me forever! LOL!
Scariest thing would be falling off the back of the chair to the ground, I went running to see if Lily was ok! He was ok, but I think I was about to have a heart attack!

I’ll answer both.. Scariest thing was when Moosie went into stasis.. was scared to death for my poor little man. I spent that night in his pen with him, plus the following night to make sure he was getting better.

The things I love most about my bunnies… well, Moosie is a people bunny. He looooves attention, ad getting petted, and playign with whoever, as long as he can thoroughly sniff them first :p Monkey is just far too adorable, she’s always bouncing around, gettign excited over everything. She’s a little ball of energy, and just tons of fun to watch.

Next question: If you were forced to put your bunnies outside into a small hutch, or give them up, what would you pick to do and why?

The scariest moments were when they stopped eating. We had only had Otto for a week when we had to go out of town for a weekend to my sister-in-law’s college graduation. The pet sitter said he wasn’t eating much at all and we were a bit freaked out. She gave him some critical care and by the time we got home he was eating like a champ. I never did figure out if he actually had an issue or not.

A week or two after we got Hannah I took her to the vet for a check up and found she needed her molars trimmed. A few days after the vet visit we had plane tickets to Texas (to see my sister-in-law, again). Hannah wasn’t eating when we left, and I was giving her critical care, but I figured she would pick up in a day and be fine. She didn’t eat for 3 whole days, and the poor pet sitter had to force feed her multiple times a day. We were just at the point of having the pet sitter take her to the vet when she ate again.

Clearly I should not plan to visit my sister-in-law a few weeks after getting a new bunny! Or after vet visits for Hannah. I found out later, from her previous owner, that she didn’t eat for 3 days after her spay either.

And what I love most about my buns is how calm and zen they are. I just feel so relaxed watching them hop around, eat, and lounge. And then they’ll do silly binkies and make me laugh 🙂

It’s getting hard to come up with questions, so I’ll reuse one: if you could have as many bunnies as you wanted, how many would you have? Let’s assume you could buy as large of a house as you want and can quit your job to be a full time stay-at-home bunny parent 😉

Hutch question: I’d absolutely never house my rabbits outside. There are far too many dangers, and the reduction in length and quality of life would never be worth it. I feel it would be selfish of me to subject my bunnies to that, just b/c I wanted to keep them, so I would rehome them.

Nail clipping: Max is more nervous than me. I am more nervous than Meadow (she’s feisty.) For this reason, Max always gets trimmed first, while I’m still calm. Meadow is always second.

First names that come to mind… you get two new bunnies tomorrow. What is the male’s name, what is the female’s name? (no thinking… just answer.)

Also, the hutch question wasn’t too specific, I guess I just scooted around the point of the question in my head. I was imagining a safe hutch on my porch. Nothing comes on my porch because of my dogs, and it is covered. It also has a ceiling fan and an oscillating fan. It’s definitely not an ideal environment for a rabbit compared to their current housing, but it’s much better than most I’ve seen around here these days (as in, if I were to give them away, the chances of having a good environment).
If it came to the welfare of their lives, I would give them away. Not unless I was in a situation that guaranteed an improvement of the alternative.

My rabbits don’t ever interact with anyone else. I guess I would say Beans likes my mom, as she occasionally cleans their litter boxes or feeds them so he knows her. But, considering my mom is the only person Benny has bitten, I would have to say his favorite person is my best friend, Emily, who held him…… once.
Um, Beans is a sweetheart. So is Benny, he just is territorial of his litter box to anyone but me. I wouldn’t say either of them dislike anybody.

I don’t know many bunny lovers. Plus, I’m super protective of my buns, so just a visitor isn’t going to get much more than a peek. I have to be extremely close to said person and trust them immensely.

What’s the scariest experience you’ve had with your bun?

The time he jumped off of my shoulder when he was picking out toys at Petsmart. Fortunately, he landed on a dog bed in a passing lady’s cart, so he had a cushiony landing and was uninjured.

I giggled at the “dress up your bun” question. I was a poster child for why NOT to give your kid a bun in regards to that. Poor Little got dressed up in pink doll dresses (and he was a boy! – but he fit in them oh so perfectly- apparently rexes are doll clothes sized) and paraded around the neighborhood in my bike basket. But I never did anything that physically hurt him. And he really didn’t seem to mind.

Do you ever make funny faces at your bun?

With the exception of moving blankets or changing up cardboard boxes, no. That’s the great thing about xpens… they’re just perfect as is. Altho I really want a platform for the bunny room.

My dad took care of her, and it went quite well. She thumped at him several times, lol. He gave her too many snacks though T__T I wasn’t too happy about that, but happy that she was taken care of well.

I started a thread the other day about getting my friends into bunnies! My friend is super allergic to tons of things, and did fine around our buns, so it might be a great pet option for them. They’re going to get Matt allergy tested, let their schedules settle down (they’re starting medical residencies soon), but then they might get buns. They asked a lot of questions and they were able to see what our daily bunny care and set up are like. I hope they adopt a pair! They really want a pet that can be petted and cuddled a bit, but Matt is just too allergic to dogs and cats. We all assumed he would be really allergic to the buns, but he didn’t have a reaction at all (and he’s the kind of person whose throat closes up if he’s even around things he’s allergic to).

Plus, Otto is so frickin cute that they just loved him. Now they want holland lops too! They were also drawn in by Otto’s binky display in the evening. Haha

Favorite bunny personality. Some people like the feisty divas. Others like laid back. What is your favorite?

Oh…I could do without Buns little diva ‘tude, although it’s what makes her so cute. I would have to say my favorite is laid back. It’s nice trusting a laid back rabbit that you know isn’t going to box or bite your friends when they interact with him/her – or you for that matter and I just love swooping up Indy and snuggling him and he doesn’t care at all. He loves all the coo’s and attention. He’s a cool laid back little man. Laid back for sure!

My bunny has her kennel, and I clipped the X-Pen to it, and the X-Pen is in sort of a circle… Its hard to explain.

When I’m home, I let her out. She gets the living room to herself. She seems to love it Climbing on the couch.

She always goes under a certain spot and will WAIT FOREVER til she gets petted!!! What a diva

Do your bunnies sleep with their eyes open, or closed, most of the time?

When she usually sleeps with her eyes open but sometimes they look very drowzy like they are ready to close but rarely do. When she was younger she would sleep on me while I was petting her and her eyes werecompletely shut and her head would fall to one side…scary but cute at the same time!

What’s the hardest place you’ve had to retrieve your bunny from? (this is assuming they don’t want to come out and you have to get them out)

Well, this isn’t MY bunny, but it’s a funny story so I’ll still share.
Before I had either of my buns, I was pet sitting for 3 buns (one of those three is now mine, Beans). They were in teeny weeny hutches and had a little pen beneath and the lady said I could let them out to play in the pen. I let one out and it managed to jump up behind the hutch (in between the brick wall and the hutch) I guess trying to get next to it’s buddy that was still in the hutch. So I’m bending down reaching under this hutch (which is wire bottom so a poop mountain is under is, where I am) for the rabbit, and what happens? The rabbit on the inside pees on the rabbit that is on the outside, then the peed-on rabbit shakes and rabbit pee gets ALL over my my face. In my hair, in my mouth… UGH! GROSS! And I still had to grab the pee soaked rabbit to keep it from escaping… WHEW!
Well, at least I was prepared for what was to come

Nixie doesn’t mind car rides at all. Pretty much as soon as I set the carrier on the front seat, she flops and takes a nap in the sun (The top of my carrier is clear). When she was younger she used to ride in my lap, but now she’s too interested in trying to explore the rest of the car, which obviously isn’t very safe.

I’m going to pass on the question, but I wanted to answer Mocha…. No, they seem to enjoy it, hopping around in the cart and sniffing everything, even periscoping when I wasn’t moving the cart.

Also, harnesses.. .if used properly and if the bunnies are accustomed to them, then i think they’re ok.  I use them occasionally on Leroy and Jeannie but never to guide them, more just to make sure that they can’t escape from me.

I actually just bought a harness to try with my bunnies tonight (mostly Frankie because I know he is the more adventurous of the two.) It’s a cat harness called ‘Come Along Kitty’ and it has that bungee leash too. I wish I could take my bunnies to the stores like that! do you have to carry them in a carrier from the car to the store or do you put them straight in the cart? Your bunnies are very well adjusted!

I just wanted to say that the local rabbit rescue’s owner brings in her own buns to petsmart to take a picture with santa paws! Same for Halloween with their little costumes!

Minty, I used to just carry Leroy in and plop him in the cart. But now with two, I have to put them in their carrier, just to make sure that nothing happens (ie, someone squirms and I drop them in the parking lot!) Then I put them in the cart. And yes, I do sometimes get weird looks. But most of the time people are curious so I use that as a opportunity to tell them about proper bunny care. Leyley, I took them to Petsmart for their Christmas picture too!

Haha, actually… I love shopping for my rabbits at Home depot! It seems like ANYTHING there can be turned into something for rabbits!

When I have a treat, I’ll shake the treat jar and she will come racing to me!! She also knows how to stand on her hind legs and walk a little bit, LOL.

Oh, I want to answer this one too, with a big Yes! Jersey will come find me 10 mins before the scheduled feeding time and do the sit & stare. Or go poop around the kitchen to show her impatience. Trouble is, if I start to adjust the scheduled time to 10 mins earlier…she starts to come find me 10 minutes earlier then the new time. All part of her plan I think to bring the feeding times closer together.

What’s your favorite story you tell about your bunny?

Taking Pringles to the vet for the first time. I didn’t have a carrier so she was in a box with duct tape and lots of airholes. The vet was a block from work so I was asked to leave her for an hour or so.

When I went to get her none of the office people wanted to go get the box. There was snarling, growling, barking, thumping, the box was rocking from the kicking and they did NOT believe it was a 4 month old bunny in there. When they finally brought her out, everyone in the waiting room was asking what kind of vicious dog I had in there.  You could just see these wild eyes looking out of the holes. That’s when she was dubbed Warrior Princess.

Do you have more photos of your kids or your bunnies on your wall at work?

Well, I don’t have kids, my bunny IS my kid/pet.

At my locker at work, I have a photo of my boyfriend and I, and one of my bunny just sitting in her usual proper diva like pose. I had a feeling when I took the photo that she was actually posing for me, lol.

That’s an easy question!

Most of the other forums I tried had members who seemed to take malicious delight in making someone asking a basic question look dumb, as if EVERYBODY knows this *you idiot*. That or they would try to outdo other members as to who was most knowlegable at the expense of the person asking the question. And when you had a problem, it was a blame game instead of advice, help and support and education about what happened.

And then I found BB thanks to some kind soul who saw my question on Craigslist pet forum and directed me here.

Which do you think is cuter …..big furry feet or the cute bunny bum?

I’m gonna have to go with big furry bunny feet! There’s just nothing cuter to me.

But of course the best combo is big furry feet stretched out next to a cute bunny butt! =D

And now for the question…. I hope no one has already asked it….
Even after reading about bunnies before you adopted, what was one thing that still surprised you about owning a bun? As in, despite being prepared for it, were you still surprised by how much a little ball of fur is capable of pooping? By how much they shed? Or maybe how goofy they can be?

I did TONS of research about bunnies before actually getting one. I posted on forums, read books, searched the net, etc, etc, etc. After reading about rabbits as pets I was prepared for a rabbit that may not be too outwardly affectionate or ‘dog like.’ Boy was I surprised by both Sully and Frankie! They are both Mr. Personality Plus and beg for attention. It was definitely something I was not expecting from rabbits! And yes, I was also surprised by the amount of bunny poop one little furry animal could make

Next question: what was your scariest experience with your rabbit? (ie. having to rush to the emergency vet for an injury, etc.)

What is the weirdest part of your bunny’s perrsonality?

Sometimes when I pet Fern she is grinding her teeth, putting her head down and all, but then when I stop, after a couple seconds she gets up and walks off flicking her feet at me. I’m like “Hey I thought you enjoyed that!” Silly bun.

Before you got a rabbit and educated yourself about them what did you think of them? Did you think they were smelly outdoor pets? Or Lazy indoor pets that did nothing but sleep? Or did you think they were nice little puffballs that you could carry around the house?

I didn’t think about them as pets much, it just seemed so wrong to see them in those outside hutches because that’s the only place I ever saw them. I couldn’t understand how animals with those long strong legs could possibly adapt to living in something like that.

The biggest surprise I had about rabbits was when my little 2 lb. Hershey charged at me growling and I jumped up on the bed….lol. We had just brought her home and she laid instant claim to my bedroom. Startled me to say the least.

Which do you find more interesting, laid back personalities or the hard to get along with divas?

Well, I consider my boys on the “diva” side. So stubborn and hard to please! I love them and would love anybun, stubborn like them or not. But, I would have to go with the laid back personality. I held a giant-lazy-bun-bum when I adopted Benny, which basically put the seal on my love of rabbits. I hope to have a large breed house bunny later down the line. One that will just lounge around and watch tv with me

Also, to the previous question. I REALLY thought they were the most boring creatures ever. I’d never actually interacted with them before, though. I remember going through one of my “phases” and I was BEGGING for a ferret. Full-on begging! My mom said “Why don’t you ever want something easy? Like a rabbit?” (EASY?! HA!). I actually said no . I still don’t understand why I said no to this day, being such an animal lover I was and still am! I probably said it because I was so intently focused on getting a dang ferret!

To repeat mine and others’ earlier question:
What is the scariest experience with bunny? (illness, fall, escape, impending danger, ect…)

Not long after we got her, I heard Pringles doing this ungodly screaming in the back room and she came zooming through the house running for her life screaming the whole way. She made three laps around before I was able to toss a towel over her and scoop her up. After unwrapping her I found a sticky fly strip hanging onto her big furry butt by only a hair or two. She was so nice and sweet to me for nearly a week for saving her from the horrible rabbit eating monster.

Not counting the freezer, who has more room in the fridge: people food or bunny food?

Constantly! Hammer is always following someone, me, my mom, a cat, a dog. He follows someone till he finds someone else to follow or pester lol. He just followed me downstairs to make popcorn and then back upstairs.

The time that Fern jumped into a bucket of water I was going to use to fill up my fish tank… LOL. She was just too curious and had to see what was inside. Once in the bucket she did not struggle or panic or anything, she just floated there motionless. It was really funny. When I got her out she flicked her feet at me and went to go dry herself off.

What is the scariest thing that has ever happened to your bun?

when mocha ripped out his stitches after his neuter, and there was blood every were. when he went back to the vet they didn’t put him to sleep and my dad had to hold him when they were stitching him back up! and during it he jumped off the table!

Mae is munching on her pellets lazily. Hammer is loafing and giving me the stink eye from his house, pouting about the petsmart trip he took earlier. Lucy is shaming me with the bunny butt, also pouting about said trip. Felix is illegally chewing on his shelf, soooo annoying.
