Hey guys, I clipped Bosco’s nails a couple of days ago, we’re trying to get into a regular cycle, because we haven’t been keeping up with his growth. We had clipped his nails the week before with no problems.

After I clipped his nails, he seemed kind of off, but I just assumed he was mad at me for putting him through that

I tried to give him some pellets, but he doesn’t seem interested in them. Not sure about his hay intake. Going to clean his area and then monitor closely. Planning on giving him some leftover critical care tonight.

Usually when I walk into the room, he jumps up and starts honking, and sometimes even binkies when I sit down and give him treats, but he always circles me. for the past couple days, he hasn’t been doing any of that, sometimes not even getting up from his resting spot when I walk in. What should I do???

as of now, he nibbled on oats, refused pellets and Critical Care. He ate cilantro and carrots, though

It sounds like he’s just mad at you… My bunnies have refused treats when they’re annoyed with me!

Since he’s eaten cilantro and carrots I wouldn’t be too worried. Just leave him alone for a bit and he’ll probably be fine. Have you been able to monitor his hay intake? What about poops?

[Have you been able to monitor his hay intake? What about poops?]

He seems to not be wanting to jump into his litter bin or hay bin for hay *rolls eyes* so I put some hay infront of him, and he nibbled on it. Poop is tiny and round, but not sticking together

How long has it been since the nail clipping, and what is his food intake and droppings like now?

nail clipping was Tuesday. Still only pooping tiny and round, but I found a cecal pellet, smaller than usual, and I haven’t seen those in his litterbox in a while.

If he is still off his normal eating and pooping routine, I think it’s very unlikely it’s related to the nail clipping. Probably best to see a vet.

I gave him some sugar water to help with dehydration and he lapped it up, and he seems much better, hes moving around more and eating more. I left for a doctors appt, and when I came back no new poops were in the litterbox. going to give him simethicone, because it seems like GI Stasis. Also going to give pineapple, because some say it helps. He already has a vet appt for the 25th, bc we are moving to GA from CA and he needs a clean bill of health for the plane flight. Im going to try and see if we can ride it out until then, if he doesn’t get better soon, then we’ll bring him in.
