I believe that last I posted….Leo had lost 1 lb since getting his teeth fixed.  He was on Oxbow Critical Care feedings in addition to his regular pellets, hay, and veggies.  Well I’m pleased to report that he’s up to 4 lbs (he was down to 3.9).  The hubby and I bought a cheap food scale, from Target, so we could monitor his weight.  It took us a while to figure out the ounces….I never had such a hard time figuring out a scale weight.

He has become a "craisinator" just like Jessica.  My nephew stayed w/ me for a few weeks, and I’m afraid that both buns got extra craisins during his visit.  He has also been much better w/ eating his veggies and exploring new veggies.  He was loving swiss chard for some time, but now he won’t touch it.  So he’s been eating lots of parsley, cilantro, and dandelion greens fresh from the farmer’s market.

Since he and Jess bonded so well they now share a cage.  We plan on building an addition once my dissertation is more settled.  They are so happy together and I’m so happy that they have each other.  He still hasn’t gotten neutered.  I’m a bit anesthesia gun shy since the weight loss post teeth removal and filing.  Also, its been tight financially w/ the cats (Max’s biopsies and Phoebe’s canine removals).   I’m hoping to fix him later in the fall or early winter.  Don’t worry Jessi is spayed!!!!

In the meantime I’m hoping to place a bunny toy/things order soon…any recommendations?  I’ve been reading up on the toy tests and recommends.  Leo is a thrower and Jess…well she doesn’t like anything but chewing on my research articles and speaker wires.

I am so happy to hear they are getting along so well, and I completely understand your concern about anesthesia when he’s underweight. Better that he is healthier. And for now, it seems like it’s not causing any relationship problems? Does he try to hump her much, or has he gotten that out of his system?

Congratulations! Regarding the toys, I usually write how my bunnies play with them in the descriptions and sometimes I show pictures of this. (like the grass ball, and the willow star) There are also all kinds of homemade stuff to make too, like toilet paper rolls (without the paper) and stuffing them with hay and healthy treats. I do need to update the homemade toy test for more options too. Wreaths are also a big favorite among customers too.

Leo seems to only hump Jessi sporadically…maybe once every 1-2 weeks.  Yesterday when they were running in the hall, Jess would run up to him, head butt and then bow into her humping position.  It was hilariously.  She kept doing it.  I can’t help but wonder if she enjoys the hump.  Leo goes back to the vet 9/18, so I’m hoping to get an idea about when he can get the snip snip.

              Haha, “craisinator.” I love it.
