Sorry I can’t help, but do you mind if I add a bit to your question for me?

I’m leaving for a week (9 days actually) and my buns AREN’T bonded yet. Will a week without sessions set them back? They are getting fairly close. I’m waiting until afterwards to do cementing.

I hope everything goes well for you, Mocha, good luck!

It’s only Tuesday today. You have the rest of this week to observe them. If they don’t fight until you leave — leave them together, mocha200.

Ley, it won’t matter to take a break from bonding.

–You guys should start a worry club together.

If you’re going away for the weekend, I would try to keep them penned up together until that point. The most I would do is attach an xpen to the condo, but don’t expand on their space any more than that. It’s very, very important that this week goes well, so you won’t worry while you’re away.

Well, I have severe anxiety…. so I have an excuse!
Er, is that something to share on a rabbit forum?

I think rabbits have a calming effect (outside of bonding)… so it’s OK to post here about it. ~

Many people have anxiety. Even animals experience anxiety. So it is a good thing if you worry about your rabbits’ well-being when you have to go away. At least, this time around, you won’t have to instruct your bunny-sitter to keep them apart. This time they can stay together and this will keep their stress level low.

Who’s looking after the buns for you? I would say definitely leave them together if they do well, and your bunny sitter knows bunnies well enough to seperate if she recognizes signs of chasing/fighting. But it sounds like things have been going really well, and like Petzy said-you’ve got some time to watch

ummm… no my pet sitter is the kind of person who would say “leave them out side in a cage with pellets in a bowel and they will live.”

i wish i could find a better pet sitter but i don’t know how to find one who does rabbits!

how do you guys find good pet sitters?
