Recently I had difficulty finding my usual bunny litter and my family had to drive all the way across town (uphill in the snow both ways…lolz) to get a bag of it. I usually use Good Mews, which I believe is comparable to Yesterday’s News, as it is a recycled paper pellet.

Our supermarket is becoming summarily lazy about getting this important product in. I am about ready to give them the heave-ho.

Today I noticed Feline Pine amongst the cat litters. Is this okay to use for bunnies? Yes/No?

Yes,  Feline Pine is fine! The dangerous phenols have been processed out.   (It’s the pine shavings that are a No No)

Ah! Thank you BB! An alternative to Good Mews! Yay! ^_^

Glad you got your answer already! I use it, but switched to wood stove pellets because I FINALLY scored some at my local hardware store! WOOT! It was $5.00 for a 40 pound bag.

I was a dedicated user of FP but I recently found those wood stove pellets at Menards for $4.99 a 40lb bag and Pepper didn’t even notice the difference!  I’m sold, and will be stocking up before spring!

I think Feline Pine is an inferior product to Yesterday’s News… it has an odor and I don’t think it absorbs as well. But, yes, safe.

You know, BB, with our home heating methods up here, you’d think woodstove pellets would be easy to find…but I haven’t seen them anywhere. 0_o

Must be our price of gas. My guess is they’re selling out en masse due to us still being about $4 a gallon.

I guess they figure you all can head out the designated places to cut your own wood! I know my brother already stocked up so maybe woodstove pellets are just too convenient for the normal rugged Alaskan. :0 )

I swear feline pine IS wood stove pellets -they look exactly the same to me!

If you look really closely, you’ll see that the biggest difference between the wood stove pellets and the Feline Pine is the size of the pellet itself. Feline Pine has a much smaller diameter pellet than the woodstove pellets have.
