lagomorphs not rodents

when I was getting ready to sign lease to new place I asked if can have a rabbit. mary said no rodents I told her rabbits are not rodents they are lagomorphs and I had my paperwork handy about house rabbits litter box training and lagomorphs. she went and consulted with the boss. The boss said no problem jsut keep it in the cage. well I agreed but he does get out when I am home and thats a lot of time out. thanks to these websites we can go prepared when moving and renting.

I was told people had rodents b4 and they weren’t kept very clean so they dont’ allow rodents anymore awe see we have to be good custodians so the next person that comes can also have their pet. the other apartment I cleaned the floor of all the stray bunny hay and poop and the porch got swept for good measure too. with the next pet owning renter in mind. I didn’t want it on my head that the next person could not have their pet cuz i left the apt. with hay and poop all over. too bad there are bad pet owners out there tho.

Rabbits you can explain that they aren’t rodents with, but… <___< A chinchilla technically *is* a rodent… *le sigh* Glad to hear you could get them to understand that a bunny is a lagomorph, though. Victory for bunnies!

Well heck even dogs and cats can be messy! I agree that the cleanliness is a matter for the pet owner too, not the pet.

Oh that annoys me… (although Brian DID chew the doors and walls of our previously rented place..luckily the landlady was my old boss and best mate’s mum..lol) but i couldnt be doing with all that NOT ALLOWED ANIMALS business. A friend of mine BOUGHT a flat nr Oxford and she has to have written permission for any animals, including hamsters and the like. WHAT THE…?!

Do your landlords etc actually check that you don’t keep pets? I could maybe understand a bit more if say you were keeping a Tiger! Surely if you pay a deposit, and put the place back as you found it, i.e sort any damage…. they have noting to complain about? My sister has lived in Sweden for years now, and just bought her own place, but was terrified moving out of her rented place a few months back as Kevin (her house bun) had ripped all the wallpaper off the bottom of the walls. Who i must make known has terrorised my sis into forfeiting a recent game of scrabble on facebook by biting her bum in protest at her sat not paying him attention (susannah belsey in case anyone wants to come on over and say hello, lol) Literally made her sick with nerves, but turns out she had nothing to worry about anyway. 🙂 I’ll go now, i’m on the vino and waffling AGAIN!
