  Lago has been thumping alot the last hour. She’s been thumping every few minutes or so. I have no idea what is making her nervous or upset. We haven’t changed anything in the layout or mess with anything. There aren’t any weird sounds that she’s never heard before. She seems very nervous and I’m not sure why. She looks like she’s ready to run away.

  Maybe she can smell something you can’t? I have my windows open a lot and they let me know (as well as the dogs) when the raccoons are in the backyard making mischief.

  Their hearing is very acute. It could be something outside that she hears, like a dog a block away, that you don’t even notice. Check out her room to see if there’s anything strange, but don’t let her out or give her a treat. She will learn that thumping produces goodies from you, so will do it more, not less.

  This happens quite a bit with my rabbits – it takes them awhile to calm down and stop thumping too once the danger has passed.

  Ah okay. I made sure there wasn’t anything wrong in her area or the room but I guess it was something outside. Whatever it was, it made her thump until 2 AM.
