Maybe this is a winter in Montreal problem…

So La Chatte has decided in the last week that she would prefer NOT to go out into the cold to pee.

She finds a way to squeeze into Coco’s area and pee. I catch her as she is scratching over the urine.

I clean it out immediately – and the cat gets the boot to the outdoors for a time out.

Today – when it happened – Coco just watched the cat do it – Then bit my bum as I cleaned it out.

(I wonder if the two of them are in cahoots…)

So the obvious is to get Coco her own litter box ( which she has…but the foolish husband has not allowed it to be set up inside yet) – But I still wonder if it is a territory thing -Will vinegar be enough of a smell killer for the cat urine?

Seriously. It is a never ending voyage of discovery here..

I had the occasional issue of my kitty using Felony’s litter (she had her own indoors). I’m pretty sure she would do it just to get back at Felony for chasing her. I would clean it out, and it didn’t seem to bother Felony at all so you should be okay.

What a good cat that she used a litter box…it could have been worse, she could have used a house plant or your xmas tree

I think it’s very funny when an animal goes through lots of drama to follow their code i.e. squeezing a big cat butt into a bunny’s  domain and litterbox.  I’ve had problems w/ the reverse, Jessica using the cat’s litterboxes.  I wouldn’t care too much, but the cat’s have scoopable litter.  Anytime I’ve tried pellets or carefresh they go on a pee revolt….so the evil scoopable is all I can do.

Is your cat fixed?  If she/he is than I don’t think that the smell s/b too powerful for the rabbit.  I would be more concerned about the cat’s feces.  Definately set up kitty’s box, sounds like she wants it & is waaay jealous of the bunny’s box.

When I clean out the bunny litterboxes, 2 of my cats attempt to climb in to sit or lay down.  I guess b/c they are just boxes, which my cats love, and bunny litter is overall much cleaner than the cats.  I also think ewww when they try to nap in the bunny litterbox when I’m cleaning them out.

LOL I bet they are in cohoots! I have to cover the litterboxes at our shelter or her cat’s poop in the bunny litter boxes (the room ones not their cage litter boxes) Gross but shouldn’t be a big deal-I bet she just didn’t want to go outside
