My mom discovered these disposable, paper pulp typer litterboxes at Petsmart. They didn’t work for her bunny because she tore through them in a matter of hours, but I have been using them with Nova for about 2 months now. She does chew on them a little bit, but not excessivly. They are really great for dorm life because I can’t just go into the backyard anymore and scrub out a regular plastic pan. This way, after about a month, I just toss the whole pan and get a new one!

There are some downsides to them though.

They are a little short/low. Nova has only peed over once, but for bigger bunnies this would be a problem. However, they could still make a good liner for a regular plastic box, especially since we can’t use the typical plastic liners that cats use. There also might big a bigger size, I just haven’t seen them in stores yet.

After 3 months (less if you have a destructive bunny) you have paid more for them than you would have for just one regular litterbox. Mind you, they come in 3 packs, so that is 1 box a month for about $10 total (so $3.33 a month).

However, I did turn one upside down and Nova loved to just sit on it, so that is a fun idea too!

That’s a neat idea, especially as you mention you cannot wash out a litterbox in the traditional way! I agree that they might not work for the majority of buns out there. You are fortunate that Nova doesn’t destroy them.

I am really lucky that Nova is not destructive at all. She is more into chinning than chewing. I mean, she has had her moments, but the majority of the time she is exceptionally good, for a rabbit that is. lol.
