I’d like to compile some kind words for my good friend who lost her 5 year old black Lop Rufio this morning. Last week he stopped eating and I urged her to get him to the vet immediately; she took him, and the vet said that his teeth were long, so she filed them down, and gave my friend a syringe to mix with water and pellets to force feed Rufio. I went over to help; it’s not an easy task to force feed a bun! He was eating hay, and drinking water….

However, she sent me a message earlier saying he passed away this morning. She’s very distressed and upset, understandably so. Rufio was 5 years old, not old by any measure but…

I think it must have been some GI problem.

Anyway, any kind words you could write…I want to send to her to let her know people are here to support her.

Binky free, Rufio.  Everyone here knows how special a bunny can be.  Hopefully your friend will find it in her heart to share her life with a bunny again soon.

Oh, tell you friend we feel for her. I know what it’s like. She obviously loved her Rufio very much and so I am sure he had a wonderful life. Though it may be hard to see the good now, she will soon be able to think of all the funny and loving memories, and they will bring her joy.

He lived a good life with her and hopefully she can find some comfort in that.

Georgie Girl also left me and my girlfriend in a similiar way. She was under treatment and seemed to be recuperating but then the black rabbit called her away. It is always too soon for our buns to leave us, but they do leave us a changed and more enriched person.
