  It took some time to overcome the newly bonded buns poop war, but my two rabbitsare both using their litter tray now (yay-good buns!) buuuuuut when they are done and they hop out the poop often comes out with them…defeating the purpose of the litter box . Anyone have any suggestions on how to help this?

  No but I’ll be watching this thread because I’d love a solution! The amount of poops that they fling under our sofa…:-/

  I have a larger tray (like the size of a bin lid) under the litter box to help with this problem. They still fling out poop, but it tends to get caught in the 2nd line of defense
  
  Then when I clean the box, I just tip the tray into the trash can with any poops and stray hay.
  
  Works for like 90% of the poos they fling out of the box. Some of them are high flyers though, haven’t been able to get to 100% yet

  Maybe a drop-thru style litterbox? Might be good for your 2 with their longer fur also. Ive not really seen suitable ready-made litterboxes that would allow poo to drop through a grate but still be comfortable enought for rabbit feet. So Ive made them myself using flatish style plastic grates. One I currently have is using the shelves of a plastic shoe rack. (see pic) But poo still gets flung. It might reduce the amount but the downside is cleaning the grate.
  
  Another approach would be having an “anteroom” space they go into getting in and out litterbox. Idea being any flung poos stay in the anteroom….hopefully.
  
  Simple version: (this was posted by a member years ago. You can just see the entry in the cardboard box on the left.
  
  Maybe a version of this but a larger space in front of litterbox with a mat to help trap stay poo’s? The pic is showing some still made their way out. Or maybe they were left before bun went in…
  
  Or, option three ( may not be practical..) – Get a rabbit friendly dog. They love cleaning up the stray bun turds.

  Another solution: a box too small to fly out of. Two of Chewie’s three boxes are big enough for him to toilet comfortably in, but small enough to require him to elegantly exit them. Hence no flying poos.
