Hi guys,
As you may have seen from my other thread re: Buttercup, it hasn’t been a great day for her (she’s okay now tho) but for Peanut and mine and his relationship, it has been wonderful! He had already started flopping right by me over the past couple weeks, particularly after I feed him his breakfast but he went one step further today – he flopped but actually laid on his back for a few seconds, tummy completely exposed and legs in the air like a dog. I’m sure to non rabbit people this isn’t a big deal but we know how vulnerable bunnies are when they are on their backs so the fact that he has done this makes me so happy. Yesterday he did it when laying by the living room panel partition and today he did it right in between my knees after I fed him. He has also flopped ‘normally’ right by me a few times today when I’ve been sat in his section of the downstairs.
AND he even fully hopped onto my lap. Okay so it was probably food motivated as I had the hay bag right by me lol but usually he just puts his front paws on me but he hopped on and off my lap several times. I feel like this is such a big step in our bond and a huge milestone for Peanut. You all know what a shy bunny he is but today he has been so confident. I wanted to share it with you guys

. Tummy exposure is a big deal – I’ve only seen Luna do it once, and I think it was on accident lol.
