Just some funny observations of Lolli

 As i’ve been laying on the floor with Lolli,  I’ve been noticing some noises.  

When she eats her hay, it’s really loud.  I guess it’s a combination of her teeth chewing the hay and clacking together.  Cause that’s what it sounds like – clacking.  It’s the strangest noise.  You know how old typewriters sounded?  With the ding at the end of the line?  I wouldn’t be surprised to here a DING! as the last of the hay disappears in her mouth.  LOL 

Also, she sounds like a horse galloping around when she hops around the apartment.  She kind of looks like she’s galloping too.  She doesn’t seem to mosey around.  She had to race everywhere.  LOL  For example, she’ll be under her chair, sleeping.  She’ll wake up, sit there.  Then it’s like “Ohmygosh!  Gotta pee!” and she races to her litter box.  Or she’ll be in the litter box and decides to race over to her chair.  (The box and chair are on opposite sides of the living room.)  Or she races to her food dish.

I have always noticed that she’s a loud hopper.  I have always been able to hear her hopping around.  Just laying on the floor seems to bring certain things to more attention.  Like wondering if I’m going to get ran over by a galloping bunny!  LOL 

Has anyone else noticed little odd things about your bunnies?

Bindi’s a loud hopper too. Something I find funny that he does is when he sleeps all flopped out he makes his mouth move like he’s chewing. Must be dreaming about food!

Something I discovered about Stormy a while back is that when he is getting cuddled and not tooth-purring, I put my face to his and I do tooth-purr noises and then he does them right after. Always if I do it, he will too. What’s even funnier is that if I do a really long one, he will too, if I do short, he does. I figure it’s nice because I’m telling him that I’m enjoying snuggling too; in a language he understands.

I with tooth purr to Lolli when I snuggle her too. She doesn’t really respond but I figure maybe I’m getting across that I like the snuggling too.

When Smokey is going to jump up/down from somewhere, she observes it at least 10 or more times before making the jump. Half of those times, standing up on her hind legs to survey the area. She acts as if she has gotten hurt so many times in her life, but she’s lived a safe, indoor, spoiled life! But she always bobs her head up and down, over and over, before jumping haha

You know, I swear Lolli couldn’t figure out how to get off a box once. She kept putting her front feet on the edge and looking around and then getting into the jumping position. But she wouldn’t jump. I finally got up to help, intending to pick her up long enough to put her on the floor. Only she beat me to it by simply falling off the box cause she didn’t want me touching her. lol

I think in both cases they simply can’t figure out to jump. I think rabbits have bad depth perception. But Lolli’s never been a jumper anyways. lol

Kate is a very noisy and enthusiastic hay eater. Yesterday when I refilled their basket with fresh hay she got so excited that she stood up on the basket and tipped right over backwards. Spencer isn’t a noisy eater but he makes the most ridiculous slurpy splashy noises when he drinks, he sounds more like a good sized dog than a bunny!
Kate also has discovered a very fun game in the apartment. She likes to pull my boyfriend’s DVDs off the shelf, it was really funny and quite clever, so we put a heavy box in front of it. Well, it wasn’t completely flush with the movies so this became even MORE fun and she raced through the little tunnel, stopping occassionally inside to bite at the movies. So he put a sheet over the case with the boxes in front. This is now both bunnies’ favorite place to hang out in the apartment. They race through and bite the sheet. His movies are safe and the bunnies are happy! 😀

We’ve only had ed for a month or so and the crazy bunny sure has been coming out!  Lst night he was doing his crazy run around the room when his back legs got a little ahead of him and slid under the rocking chair.  He acted all hurt/ upseat — like how could you slow down my super speedy running.  Then made peace with the rocker by giving it a good licking.  I thought; Ok good, they’ve made friends again.  Hmmm… maybe Edison needs a friend.
