Review on the brush so worth it if you go slow it works better Emily got her first real grooming today including nails she is so mad at me! Plus I moved her cage around she is one naughty bun at the moment! Chewing things and digging but she will get over it soon I hope! The ox bow hay she also seems to like although I’m not sure more than what she already has, & the mini willow ball a big hit I think we may have to buy bulk!

LBJ, It definitely depends on where you live, I’ve waited for over a full week for mine before. I always get antsy too. And Oreo is always more excited about the cardboard box than the contents

I’ve never had issues with Amazon. I am expecting the new rabbit nutrition book tomorrow and I’m so excited
I LOVE BB shipping!
You should have seen me with a 25lb box of hay.. I was not there, so I had to pick it up at the apartment office.. it was not fun, but I am glad it made my little girl happy

Ugh, I can’t stand Amazon! I’ve even paid for 2nd day shipping and it took A WEEK before the item was even shipped out!!! I try to avoid Amazon at all costs and most of the time, I’m on eBay.
But I’ve been very surprised with BB shipping and how good it is. I don’t really shop anywhere else for my rabbits except for getting their pellets at the store every few months. -
I have amazon prime and it’s free 2 day shipping but I usually get things the next day!
I have noticed that the shipping IS better if you pay for the amazon prime membership. I had it for a year and shipping was relatively fast. But I refused to pay for it after a year and now whenever I order things occasionally, it seems to take forever. Just my experience though.

Well I could not order everyday from bb but I like this site & would like to support it. I could have spent less on another site but then I do not trust the quality of what my bun is eating or playing with I trust that bb is caring for their items so that they get repeat business. The shipping is normal for fedex but it would be nice if USPS was offered for less even if it took longer. But I will still try to order from bb when I have a little extra.

LBJ10 – yeah!! How exciting. I wish I would have known who you were when you ordered (as we keep the store accounts separate from membership accounts). I would have written a little hello note on your order. some members will write in the order comments who they are in the forum, and I’ll draw some goofy little rabbit face or write something silly or fill your surprise gift (that’s in every order) just a little bit fuller.
I didn’t realize that about Amazon shipping, so I went to research further: The prime membership cost $80. Well, Wow, we could lower our shipping prices too if we charged everyone $80 bucks up front, and then added $3.99 to expedite. And they said it will only take two days IF item is immediately ready to ship. And they don’t gaurantee it on all of their items. I don’t know why I thought Amazon offered free shipping (haven’t order from them in years), and now I know it’s more like how insurance works. If we were a big company, and had hubs it certainly would be doable that way.Amazon also gets amazing shipping discounts due to their high volume. (and of course if they have several hubs that are closer to your zone then it is less expensive for them). It is so difficult to compete with large companies like that. I have noticed that some companies offer a flat rate, but then they raise the price on some needed products (stuff you order on a regular bases — like pellets). We charge customers exactly what the shipping rate costs us. Shipping rates can fluctuate with gas prices which is a bummer but at least with us, you don’t have to pay anything upfront and you pay no more than what it actually costs us. That way we can focus on keeping the product prices fair.Keep in mind too, that every carrier has a bottom rate fee — the very least you will pay. Meaning no matter how little you buy, that bottom rate fee won’t decrease (it’s based on your zone). So if you buy just one little light thing, the shipping seems really high, but if you add to your cart, the rate will only increase slightly — unless you order heavy heavy items — like five bags of pellets, and 8 bales.That was interesting to discover what Amazon shipping was all about. I always thought they offered free shipping with no catch and I didn’t even bother worrying about competing. (never really will be able to because of the monsterous volume they have and they can make up their shipping losses through pocketing cash —via the people who don’t spend $80 dollars in shipping.Thanks for supporting small businesses like us! It’s what keeps this site going. -

Your concerns about Fedex are common and we really need to put some more info in our store somewhere about this because people may be surprised to know that we get a Fedex Ground business discount and our shipping rates are usually equal to if not less than USPS. (shipping has been more expensive for most carriers as of late due to gas price hikes)
We used to use USPS, but they were so horrible with customer service and tracking and they gave a permanent price hike up over a year ago. I know people have had bad experiences with both, but when we were using both, it was insane how terrible USPS was in comparison. So when we started receiving our Fedex Ground business discounts and they matched or beat USPS the majority of the time, we dropped USPS except for Alaska, Hawaii and Canada. Those are the only areas that USPS does not beat our Fedex Ground Rates.
The only time that USPS Parcel Post is cheaper (and it’s not by much), is if you order one or two little items. But the majority of people do order larger amounts just because they want to get more bang for their shipping buck and we found that USPS was actually more expensive with the majority of those kinds of orders.
And of course rates will be cheaper if where you are ordering from businesses (or their warehouse hubs) that are closer to you.
Being that we are in California, it can be more expensive to ship across country. But we care very much about our customers and the quality of the products we sell…plus, we can add in some ocean air for free.

I usually purchase my supplies from the local rescue/shelter…they don’t have rock bottom prices, but the prices aren’t bad either and I think it’s nice to support their work. However, once the bunnies have a lot more room to roam in a few months I’m thinking about putting in an order for a fun cardboard play structure

I don’t mind paying for amazon prime, I get things in two days, sometimes one, and I feel like I get more than my money’s worth. Between all of the books for class and research and all of the stuff I buy there because it’s easier to order it than to get to a store without a car, I order a lot of stuff. Ultimately on somer bigger stuff, that saves me money because I’d have to pay for a cab to get home. The UPS and Fedex people pretty much know me by name, lol. And now they stream tv and movies if you have a membership, so it’s like free two day shipping plus a netflix membership in one. But unless you order a lot or really like BBC television programs (which they seem to have a deal with, I think 2/3 or what they stream tv wise is from the BBC), or like their selection of streamable stuff better than netflix, the $80 a year isn’t worth it.
I just got a binky bunny package the other day too! I have yet to try out my new brush, but Spencer has eaten half of his willow cube already. He actually got his head stuck in it yesterday. Doofus. I wish I’d gotten a picture, but I was too worried (needlessly of course) that he might hurt himself. They are also fond of the box, I made a little house of it and the packing paper. Kate likes it a lot.
