Well I heard back today and we were approved- so we went to see the kittens. She told me that before she went there that the male silver tabby was pending adoption- so I told her I was still interested in Melody the silver tabby female and one of the other kittens too- and that I would decide when I got there.
Of course they were totally cute and playful! The kittens are 8 weeks old now- but need to be 2lbs before spay or neuter- and they can go to their new homes after that. But we signed the contract and wrote a check today- so it is a done deal! But 6 weeks ago the rescue group got a call from a shelter (probably animal control) that the Mom and 5 kittens were to be scheduled for euthanasia. The rescue group put them into foster care- the Mom and kittens all had upper resp infections- and last week the kittens at approx 7 weeks were separated from Mom. The litter was listed on Wed, I sent my application in late Wed night and by Friday- the silver tabby male was pending, I have 2 kittens pending, the gray male I did not choose had a few other people that had also emailed, and that only leaves a black female kitten to find a home for. Not shabby for listing the kittens 2 days ago on PetFinder!!!
Here is Melody- I may keep that name- she is a silver mackeral tabby. Mackeral is the name of her tabby pattern (fish-bone like). She does have an infection in her left eye that she is being treated for- the vet expects it to clear up 100%. And she certainly acted like a healthy, happy kitten- so no worries there. She was attacking my husbands feet in the photo. The dark grey kitten is the male that I did not choose- but he had a few people that expressed interest if I did not adopt him.

This is Mitchell- name will be changed. He was the first one that ran to me when I came in- and he was rubbing on my fingers and he purrs if you even come close to touching him. I wish I could say that we chose him but the photo clearly shows that he picked my husband out- I can totally picture him saying “Yes, this slave pleases me and he is now mine”. He was just became the obvious choice and I am happy the way things worked out- if Matthew (the silver tabby male) had not been pending and I had to choose between him and Mitchell- it would have been a tough choice. This was just a clear match and I don’t regret that Matthew already was chosen.

And here is a pic of my husband holding the 2 we are adopting. The dark grey male climbed up on my husbands shoulders.

And here is a pic of Matthew- the silver tabby male that I did NOT adopt. He is cute- but I think Mitchell was meant to be my kitten not Matthew. Matthew had a darker face than Melody under the eyes.

Melody and Mitchell can come home after they are spayed and neutered- which is the requirement of 8 weeks (which they are) and 2 lbs- and they are not quite 2 lbs yet. So in another week or two my kittens can come home!!!!!
