I dont know if your family reads the newspaper, but you can shred them up for litter . Also you can call local rabbit rescues for vet recommendations.  As far as mom, maybe you can offer to do something around the house that she hates doing to show her how much it means to you that bun stays indoors?

what about the fleas? if she’s getting fleas outside she really needs to be treated and brought inside permanently. truckin’ her in and out is only going to bring the fleas inside, and not solve the problem.

as far as staying inside, she is going to need a safe place in the house to stay at night and when you’re not home.  if your mom knew she was confined during these times, she would probably be more recepetive to allowing her to stay in.

It’s hard to convince moms that spending money at a vet is a good thing. Rabbits are generally seen as “throw away” pets. I’ll be honest, before I got into rescue I had no idea that people vetted rabbits, guinea pigs, rats…any of those animals that are $20 or less at a pet store. It never would have occurred to me to spay one. When I first started looking at rabbits a couple years ago, even with being involved in rescue, and I saw that they were speutered? My reaction was “Are they serious?”

This is why education is so important. If *I* didn’t know rabbits need vet care then I can’t very well expect the average pet owner to know.

Do you babysit or do anything to make your own money? If you don’t have any saved up right now maybe you can make a deal with your mom that you will pay her as you get the money if she will front the cost of the vet bill.

Yes Revolution is fine. You probably want to use the dosage for cats – it’s based on weight.

I have never had a problem with Revolution and have used it frequently.

Yes, just put the dosage on the base of her neck just like a cat.
