So much for the bunnies going to the vet today. Hubby had a crash this morning (well, let’s call it a dodge, he had to avoid an old gent who thought the middle of the road was all his) and the car now has a flat tire and the passenger door is dented in. And it’s about -20 F out there and the whole road is black ice. (Probably a blessing when you think of it-he and I and the bunnies could’ve gone for a nasty spin..)

No worries on the hubby…he is not physically hurt, unless you count almost freezing to death trying to dig it out because nobody stopped to help and the one lady he flagged down said, “Oh alright, I’ll help pull, but make it quick, I’m in a hurry.”

What is WRONG with people lately??? No one in Alaska lets anyone sit by the side of the road in weather like this. It’s criminal!

Sooo….stick me with a damn fork…I am so done.

Seriously though. Enough’s enough! Jeez!

And I haven’t rescheduled yet because the car is going to take some work and we have a huge snowstorm coming our way (oh yah, life is officially unfair) that’s going to dump about 10 inches on us in the next few days. So I think we’re sitting tight for a bit.

In the GOOD news category, Mimzy seems to be doing okay and I think I’m going to get brave enough to clip the buns’ nails on my own. I just can’t let that wait till next week. I’ll put on my coke bottle glasses and shine a halogen on them so I can see them properly and my daughter can help hold them…hoepfully.
Maybe send those martinis up for the bunnies, I need something to make them docile while I do this…lolz.

Aww man thats horrable Its just like that here, artic weather and bad roads with no nice peaple who would help. Glad hes ok!!! Cutting there nails isnt so bad, just  dress for it and burrito them!! Baha!

Oh MM! I’m sorry to hear about this, but thank goodness he is okay. Hopefully the car can be fixed somewhat easily… and cheaply.

I trimmed bunny nails by myself last week (fpr the first time) and I did pretty well! I don’t know who was more scared, me or the buns, but desperate times call for desperate measures so I had to suck it up and do it myself. And I was very proud of myself after my heart stopped pounding. I will send out “easy trimmin” vibes to you…

Hehehe, thanks Beka. Yup, I’m going to need them, Fiver is a VERY skittish bun, but once you get him in your arms, you can usually get him to put up with a bit of indignity…but Mimzy is another ball of wax altogether.

Pip is just glad for any attention at this point. She’ll probably roll over and stick her toes in my face. xD

I did get Mimzy a new appointment with another vet whose receptionist claims is very rabbit savvy. In fact they have TWO exotics vets. ^_^ I am so excited and totally recharged to find out what is wrong with my best bunbun!

MM, can I join the club?

We were supposed to go on a little road trip this week. Took my car to fill up up and top up the tire pressure on Saturday – hit some ice in the filling station lot and and went sliding towards the gas pump. Managed not to blow up but did mess up the tire & rod (or something) enough to make the car not driveable even if they put a new tire on. Off it went to the insurance compound to be looked at. Borrowed my mother’s car – it died yesterday and I had to put a new battery in (put it in myself!!). Last night the big fish tank sprang a leak. I’ve about had it!!

Good lord…I have run into the store front out here before, but if I slid into a gas pump I think I’d be saying some Hail Mary’s as fast as I could on the way to oblivion! >_< Yikes! Thank God you weren't hurt!
