Wiseman, NumNoom and Miss Yowie!
That’s the 3 white rabbits in this photo. Wiseman and Miss Yowie have headtilt and NumNoom is their little bond mate that helps look after them. <3 These rabbits live at Big Ears animal sanctuary in Tasmania. : )

Can’t believe we are halfway through 2017 already!! ![]()
Aww, that is just so impossibly cute!
*sigh* I’m a bit bummed. We are being forced to change internet providers because our current company was bought out by another company and they doubled the price of our bill. Since it costs less with the new provider to just bundle everything together, we’ve made the decision to drop Dish.
I know, it’s weird that we have Dish. But we have a very hard time watching things online. The internet is just too slow.
Sterling, Olaf, Apollo.
What a bunch of cuties those three are, NumNoom is an adorable name too
Hard to believe it’s June isn’t it. Hubby and I are nursing bad colds at the moment, just hope I don’t get another before winter heads out since it’s only just starting.
Awww Jersey thats such a cute yet sad photo.
Wiseman, NumNoom, Yowie…!!!!!!! . they deserve to be this month’s white rabbit !!!
Errrr unless its too early to be pernickety…. half way through the year is end June, so dont panic Jersey, another four weeks to go !!!! ![]()
Wiseman, NumNoom, Yowie!
Reese’s belly, Buttercup (Not my buttercup, the other one that is all white), and sometimes Chewie!
How did everyone beat me to this already!
I woke up at 6:00 to see if I could be the first one on June chat
Jerseygirl – That picture is adorable! I love Numnoom’s face
Also, 7 more days of school! after that, I have all the time in the day to go on Binkybunny. Reese’s gotcha day is July 3rd!

My Buttercup
Hope you plan something special for Reese’s special day! I’m already thinking about my two’s birthday and it’s not till August ![]()
Reese. Its called time difference.
Jersey is going to bed at night on the 1st of the month when you are going to sleep on the last day of the month….
you’ll neeeeever beat those Aussies unless you cheat and do it on the last day of the month…. lololol.
No fair, Aussies also get to celebrate all holidays before we do..
Those buns are absolutely adorable, head tilts or no. I hope they’ll find a great home!
Results from the MRI are back, they couldn’t find anything. That’s both good news and bad news. It’s good news that it isn’t a severe and debilitating back injury, but it’s bad news because it likely means that my rheumatic illness has progressed and found another spot to wreak havoc… I’m being sent back to the rehabilitation centre where they first treated me when my rheumatic illness started to act up. They really helped me there, and I regained many things which I had lost over the course of a year. It once was so bad in my arms and shoulders that I couldn’t lift a teacup without pain, and within the year I was back to start working again. So let’s see how much we can get out of it this time!
Peep! (I finally have a REW for this ) Yumi’s tummy (And also Henry’s tum-sorry VB for stealing that one)
Got told one of the worst things I’ve ever heard today, one of my housemates has siblings that have rabbits at home.
They put one of their female rabbits with their buck (for babies). Only neither rabbit felt so inclined and when they came down in the morning the doe was very close to decapitated (I was shown pictures- not the best start to the week) She wanted to know if this was something that would happen again or if they could put him with their other female rabbit….I was completely aghast!
Dface, that’s just completely horrifying.
I’m floored, Dface. Please tell me they won’t be handling bonding or breeding in the future.
Ellie, feel better soon! We’re always rooting for you.
So… I have to ask. I’ve been around here for ages now but I still have no idea what the game is at the beginning of each thread when you list the names of member’s rabbits. Is there a rhyme or reason? I’m late to the party. Narf! :]
pinknwuffy, I think it is LPT’s mother who taught her to say “white rabbit” 3 times on the first day of a new month. For luck. We have refined this into mentioning the names of whit or partially white buns, and we often mention many more than 3, obviously. Olaf qualifies as a white rabbit, so I’m saying Olaf now =)
I really hope not, but then again they don’t strike me as people who care about their rabbits at all (to them rabbits are “back garden in a hutch 0 maintenance pets” )
Terribly upsetting to think of the little things being kept that way.
I wanted to do a session with Yumi and Peep today but someone smashed a bottle in the room I’ve been using , and threw up all over the floor. Having a pretty rubbish week over all- so decided I wasnt in the mood to clean it up.
Housemates also let the electricity meter run out (I’ve paid the last 2 weeks and they wont pay me back ), so the fridge turned off.
I had really been hoping to be going home for my birthday next week, to see my twin and brother (his birthday is the day before ours -three birthdays in one!) and also just to get away from this house- but I wasn’t expecting to get Peep, and it would be crazy to move him now, so I’m stuck up here for it >
oof that was a rant and a half ! Sorry!
Awww sorry Dafce. But why not move Peep? If he is eating fine, then i would go for it…
Get him used to car rides
It really sounds as if you struck gold with your housemates..
.. and that you need a birthday break !!!!! So… go for it. ![]()
Thank you, Bam! I’ve been curious for so long but could never figure it out. Very cute!
I’m sorry you’ve been having such a tough time, Dface. That must be a very difficult situation to be in. I wish people were more respectful of sharing space and living together peacefully. I hope things turn around for you and, regardless of what happens, that you get celebrate your birthday with your two furry friends. Maybe you could Skype or Facetime with your family?
Peep, Poppy, Olaf
Dface- hope the week gets better tomorrow
Ellie-lol this is so funny, I got my MRI results today too.
Results: I have a bruised bone ![]()
has any one seen the new “Pirates of the Caribbean: dead men tell no tales” ? I just want to know if its worth seeing
Blue Moon-I saw it the other day, it’s not as good as the original trilogy, but is better than the last one they made (by a lot) And like the rest of the films is kinda just a swashbuckling maritime romp
Also there is a post credits scene(most people in the cinema I was in didnt bother to wait, but it was there)
It was still May when I originally responded to Jersey. It’s June now, so…
Wooly’s blaze, Leopold’s belly, Bindi, Sterling, Chewie, Buttercup, Olaf, and (now) Peep. ![]()
Blue Moon, we went to see it last weekend. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t think it was terribly good. Didn’t have the typical pirates movie feel for me. Then again, I’m a bit of an odd one out and actually quite liked On Stranger Tides. Dead Men Tell No Tales was a bit too ridiculous for me to like it greatly, and it brought up more questions than it answered. I was sort of left wondering “so how did that make sense?”.
ok ( I liked On Stranger Tides too (I like mermaids
))
I think I’ve only seen the first two Pirates movies, how many are there now?? ![]()
I’m super excited, Darksiders 3 was just announced! The company that owned the franchise went bankrupt and it seemed like there would never be a sequel. The new one will come out in 2018, six years after the last. And E3 is in less than two weeks! ![]()
Oh no, that’s horrible Dface! I always get so pissed off when animals are mistreated, makes my blood boil… ![]()
@Blue Moon: ouch! A bruise can hurt worse than a broken bone
Do they have a plan to speed up the healing process, or will it be “wait it out..”?
I have never seen ONE of the POTC films……. and I’m proud of that fact !!!! LOL
![]()
But… but… Johnny!
Ellie- its kind of both because I’m doing P.T. (again) but nothing else.
Let’s see what the physical therapist can do for you then. I hope you will get well soon!
thanks same to you Ellie
So recently bandits been presenting for pets and now after a long pet session of 2-3 min he will stand and groom my arm hair for a few minutes.
Hopefully this summer won’t be as busy as this year has been for me, and I’ll be able to start coming on more frequently lol
For a while I was looking into getting Moxie a husbun because I have felt guilty for being so busy, but after a lot of consideration I decided that I didn’t have the time (or could currently handle all of the stress) to deal with bonding and quarantining a new rabbit. So I ended up just buying more NIC cubes and expanded her pen even more. I literally do not have a bedroom anymore!
But she’s been good, and we still get our evening cuddles. Oh! And also, her sneeze attacks have practically vanished! Which I am very happy about.
And for all of the ‘new’ (they’re probably not even new anymore, I just haven’t met them yet lol) members: Hello! I’m MoxieMeadows!
I have a (girl) French angora rabbit named Moxie who will be turning 4 (*gasp*, how does time fly so quickly?!
) in 2 months. I also have many other pets though.
______________________________________________
2 chicks ended up hatching from the eggs we were incubating. Since there’s only the two of them, they are both pretty comfortable with people lol. *BUT* they both appear to be roosters, so we’ll see how that goes lol. All of our adult chickens are doing well though.
I’ve missed you all though! <3
its been for ever since you’ve been on Moxie
Yes it really has! I haven’t really had any time to use the computer in months!
With school, a cleaning job, and practically being a nanny for our neighbors down the road (on top of caring for all of my animals and trying to keep a sliver of a social life), I have been very, very busy!
As soon as school gets out (June 16th!), I will no longer have to care for the child down the road, so that will free up quite a bit of time! I’ll hopefully start checking in daily again! I used to be on BB *all* the time. lol :’D

@Moxie: great to see you again, and I take my hat off to you when I see your schedule. Oh my, how do you keep it all up? Hope that you’ll get more free time soon ![]()
@Ellie, Thanks it’s great to see you again too!
(And the secret is caffeine

MOXIE!!!!! ![]()
LBJ!!!!!! ![]()
I’m thinking about starting an instagram page dedicated to rabbit care/info and pictures….
moxie- your so lucky that you get out of school on the 16th. my school gets out on the 22nd grrrr. yay on the chicks hatching
Blue Moon- I am actually home schooled! I’m not entirely sure when I’ll finish all of my subjects for the year actually, but Public school is getting out on the 16th this year (which is later than normal because of all the snow days we have had).
![]()
oh that makes sense ![]()
My streak of nightmarish work weeks continues, so I’ve been feeling pretty overwhelmed and out of the loop. Is it really June? Egad!
Wishing all the sickies well, and all the busies a break, and all the floofs noserubs.
The public schools here got out on May 22nd.

*boop* ![]()
My school is out on the 9th. Only one more week!
Reese & LBJ- you both are sooooooooooooooooooo lucky
but how many snow days have you had. our school had 10
I live in the Northeastern part of the USA, so the Public school system here had a lot of snow days. I’m not entirely sure how many though.
Yea LBJ – you are soooo lucky about stopping school early….
(Blue Moon, I think LBJ stopped school a little while back…..)
![]()
What’s a snow day?
We’ve had summer here all day long. I’ve been outdoors all day on a basket weaving class. I made a very lopsided basket out of birch and rowan twigs.
Bam- A snow day is when it snows/the roads are really icy, so school gets cancelled for the day since it would be unsafe to travel with all of those children. But for every snow day, a school day gets added at the end of the year, since we have to meet a required amount of days for the school year to be done with. So the more snow days you have, the longer it takes for school to get out in the spring. This year we had a really bad winter, so there were a lot of snow days, so school is getting out later than usual.
Wow, Moxie, we don’t have snow days here. Maybe one or two some years, when the school bus can’t drive, but no days get added on.
We had around 8 snow days. No days get added on unless we go over 8 snow days, so we were super lucky to have exactly 8!
LOL Vienna, yes, I am lucky. Actually, they changed the schedule in recent years. When I was in school, we didn’t get out until June. I remember graduating on June 6. Of course, school started later back then. When I was a kid, I never went to school on my birthday (which is in August). Now, for several years, the first day of school has been right before or right ON my birthday. Gosh, I don’t know if I would have wanted the first day of school to on my birthday. o_O
I don’t believe they had very many snow days this year, but we had a mild winter.
lol oops, sorry LBJ
Never had a snow day in my life ![]()
Not a big deal Blue Moon. I keep track of the school schedule because I do CLC (one of my many outreach activities through work).
Another London terrorist attack with a speeding van and stabbings last night….

Tonight there is a tribute concert at Manchester following the Ariana Grande explosion 2weeks ago.
BIG names : Coldplay, Justin Bieber are playing and Ariana is headlining.
Oh please, please let it go ahead without any problems. The people who had tickets to the original concert are invited back free. They need this to move on in life and be less scared.
(((Manchester)))
I read… gods, the world is such a mad place…
The incompetence and dishonesty in this country’s service industry never ceases to astonish me.
In 2010 I bought an LG combo washer/dryer. A couple of weeks ago the noise it started making during the spin cycle suggested that a bearings replacement was needed. I called the LG service center here and after a brief home visit (think: less than a minute), I was informed that it would be picked up for repairs – which it was, a couple of days later.
After a whole week (for a simple bearings replacement!) the delivery guys arrive… with someone else’s machine (same model though). It took over half an hour to get them and the machine out of my house because they simply couldn’t be persuaded that I know my machine and this one’s not it. They laughed at me and called me crazy thinking I don’t understand any Arabic so a very disgruntled phone call to their supervisor followed.
After playing phone tag for a few more days, today the same three stooges arrive with… someone else’s machine. And we proceed to play the same game only this time I involved the workshop manager as well. Apparently this machine’s serial number matches as well. Hmm… deja vu. Only the distinctive factory stickers and deep scratch that I rust-protected with clear silicone seem to be missing. Weird, non?
Now I’m back to phone tag and waiting and washing clothes in the tub. And if my machine doesn’t materialize on the third try, I’m calling a lawyer. ![]()
Oh man that’s horrible. Are they trying to play you for a fool, or what? What do the head offices say about that local “service station”?
Emailed LG and they said their authorized service center (the ONLY one here) is essentially autonomous. In other words, they don’t get involved from overseas ![]()
that’s horrible Q8 you should get ready with a potato again to throw at them if they bring the wrong washer again
OMG!!! A dryer?? In Kuwait?
![]()
I’m sorry Vienna but, I don’t get what’s so funny. can u please explain
LOL Blue Moon… That’s a great idea! ?
I think Vienna is referring to the fact that I live in a desert country. She conveniently overlooks that it’s a washer and dryer in ONE machine, and that I live right on the coast, which means humidity (nevermind the dust and pigeon poo).
![]()
That stinks Q8! I hope that it all works out for you in the end!
Okay guys, can I rant for a little bit? So one of my friends invited me to breakfast this morning. She will frequently go with whoever wants to show up. Well anyway, It ended up being me, my friend, somebody who I’ve known for a while (but we aren’t close at all though. We will call this person A), and someone I had never met before (person B). So the two people (not my friend) made a few snotty comments to me, but I let it slide. They then all started talking about movies they were interested in. I said that I thought “The mummy” looked kinda cool. Person A then scoffs and goes “I’m sorry for you.” And person B very seriously said that he barely had any respect for me as a person anymore. They then got very rude and started saying more insults, and how I must have horrible tastes in other things. My friend started agreeing with then about how the movie looked so dumb, and how I was clearly just confused and didn’t know what I liked for movies yet. When just earlier, she said it looked cool and we should go. I felt kinda betrayed lol. I was already hesitant about going. It was awkward and awful, and I won’t be going back to breakfast anytime soon with them to say the least, lol.

Stoopid rats! Seriously, Moxie, I wish I could tell you that people improve with age, but they really don’t. Just last week one of my close friends dropped a bomb on me that ended our friendship. All I can ell you is that you seem like a lovely well-rounded person, and that fortunately you can almost always choose not to spend time with what I like to call “toxics”, and that even if it sucks, I’m still going to see The Mummy because you’re right – it does look really cool! ![]()
Ditto.
And you’ve always come across as a very mature person, Moxie. I can’t say the same for those 3. Do make sure you go see the movie!!
My friend started agreeing with then about how the movie looked so dumb, and how I was clearly just confused and didn’t know what I liked for movies yet.
I find that ridiculous. ![]()
How can someone not know what they like?
You like what you like! It actually comes across as her “being confused” if she initially agreed it would be a good film, then changed her mind based on their opinions. It’s sort of sad she’s not secure enough to stand by what she likes and what she doesn’t.
@Q8, fingers crossed you get your machine back and it is working properly. What a rigmarole. Years ago on BB a member mentioned fixya.com and it’s become a go-to site for me when Im looking into what going on with anything that’s broken. What length was the warranty on the machine?
One year overall, ten years on the motor. I could have replaced the bearings myself, but it is impossible for a consumer to obtain the replacement parts in this fuddy duddy place.
Bummer.
I suppose diy voids the warranty also.
On a side note, I just saw this and totally thought of Chewie!!
Ermagah! Where do I get one?! ![]()
Bag is by U-Pet.
Yes Blue Moon, i was referring to the new invention of hanging clothes up in a bathroom (not outside in pigeonpoop land) and letting nature takes its course for drying ability, especially in a country where it is guaranteed HOT !
I was thinking of the ecological consequences rather than space taken up
unless i have triplets tomorow (!!
) or go and live in scotland, i refuse to have a dryer (although i do admit to drying stuff when I went to a laundrette for 2 years – stuff toooo heavy to walk back to my flat with and….. clothes are soooo cuddly warm when they come out…. LOL )
Moxie : Jersey is right, don’t change who you are just because of remarks made by two faced people who only do things and say things to please others.
Stay with us on BB, we appreciate you JUST as you are xxxxx
Moxie, I’m with Jersey. You know what you like and you said so and your friend caved in to the mean girls (even if they weren’t all girls they were still being mean girls).
a) My apartment is poorly ventilated since all my windows face north and most of the time keeping them open lets in mass amounts sand or creatures or pollution. b) It is really humid year round so stuff starts to stink before it fully dries. Yet another reason I’m at my wit’s end. ?
Ah but, but dear friend….. you can see the light at the end of the tunnel now !!!!
If you had another 4 years left i would understand…. but next year !!!! That’s like…. DEMAIN, MANANA !!!!!
As Jersey said, we are already HALF way through 2017!!!!!
Its time to turn the sadness on its darn head and turn it into optimiZzzum !
Plans… book ideas…. the bunny friendly yumyums you are going to plant in your back yard…. so many things to grab from life !!
Q8 – what? A washer and dryer in the same machine?! I hope you get it fixed, that sounds like an amazing futuristic device. I must have one.
Moxie – I don’t know you but I already know you are a better person than those breakfast friends! I always like to remind myself that people who need to put others down to feel good about themselves are just insecure. It is great that you can be stronger than that. Don’t waste time on negative people, there are so many good ones in the world ![]()

Ohhh! Maybe they were quoting Mean Girls!
I haven’t seen it so I couldn’t say..
As Jersey said, we are already HALF way through 2017!!!!!
![]()
@ Vienna: Well, you did say us Aussies are always ahead so…. ![]()
Now THAT’s a hell of a time difference !!!!!! Imagine the jet lag !!!!
![]()
It took my three hours, but I finally managed to clean my bathroom to the cleanest it has ever been. Cleaning student toilets is probably the worst thing I’ve ever been exposed to-and I worked in a pathology lab where we would sometimes get diseased eyes or 24 hour poop collections through!
Moxie- People like that are very dull and shallow. Basing their opinion on someone via film taste is a ridiculous. Im a total movie weirdo-I’d watch anything including some of the worst B films that have ever existed, because I find them entertaining- Plus the mummy does look good! (I dont care what anyone says, Tom Cruise makes entertaining films!)
But dont let people make you feel bad about your taste in things, or sour things that you are excited for and enjoy (although I doubt you are the type that would)
You learn as you grow up that people who do that lack confidence in themselves and HATE anyone who is brave enough to be who they are. I think your friend has an awful lot of growing up to do if she couldnt stand up for you in a group of her own friends.
@Moxie: sorry that those people treated you that way. Let them slide if you can, and keep surrounding yourself with supportive and kind people
@Dface: impressive, which brand of flamethrower did you use?
Reminds me of our university campus. There was one flat which was filled with a bunch of lame-@$$ stoners, and they were actually proud of their reputation of being the filthiest flat in town. Like in: take-away everyday because we can’t find the plates, they’re bound to be somewhere in that stinky hairy pile on the counter. Their downstairs toilet was so dirty that it was only usable by men. You’d have to stand on the doorstep and just aim for the bowl, because if you’d venture in further you’d risk getting your shoes stuck ![]()
The student housing agency told them that if they continued to fail their inspections, they would hire a cleaning team on their costs. they attempted to rent several cleaning companies, but these walked out on them: nope nope nope nope!
Luckily for the housing agency this flat was already on the list for renovation. They split up the group and divided them into other student houses. Then they thoroughly renovated everywhere, knocking out walls between rooms to create larger but fewer rooms. The flat was reduced from 20 to 10 residents, and because the group was divided it never got so bad again.

Gah! You HAD to mention the dust! Flashbacks! I think I was spitting out and finding dust on myself and my gear for WEEKS after getting back. Bleah. Like the worst day at the beach ever.
Sounds like they’re giving you the business because you’re not a local and think you don’t savvy the local lingo.
As for my life, things are going ok, for a change. Mostly. My little girl is out of school, and spending the majority of her summer with her mother. Which sucks, because she’s my buddy and I miss her terribly. But she needs time with her mother.
I’ve managed to get my shop going on a small scale, and I’m finally making knives again! (Which I haven’t been able to do since 2005.) Hopefully, I’ll finish a few soon and sell them, (I’ve got 12 in progress.) allowing me to put a roof on my workshop. (Florida in the summer. Meh.)
Also, I just turned 55 on the 3rd. Not recommended. I struggle with depression on a regular basis (We used to joke I was one of the only people to join the Army WITH PTSD instead of waiting for the Army to inflict it on me, lol), and it’s worse every birthday, since my ex wife’s birthday is the day before mine. I admit it, I’m lonely. Thank the powers for my rescue animals, bird, cats, and bunnies. I’d be lost without them. Cleaning up after them keeps me too busy to think about being depressed! Yes, I’m sure that’s their plan.
Thanks for all of the encouraging words about this.
I just expected better from them, you know? I mean, the acquaintance is a married woman in her 20’s, and the other 2 are both in their early/mid twenties (I am usually always the youngest out of my friend groups, because I have always been more mature than people my age, and never wanted to play barbies with the other 8 year olds, I’d legitimately rather read a thesaurus or something ha ha
). I just expected that they wouldn’t really act like mean girls from high school, or so petty
But anyways, I’m probably going to just go see the movie alone, and if my friend asks why we didn’t go see it together, I’m going to tell her that I was under the impression that she didn’t want to see it anymore.
But anyways, on a happier note, I’m thinking about starting a youtube channel for fun (most likely about animals, let’s be honest haha!
). Thoughts? ![]()
Oh guys, guess what?! I got a venus flytrap plant yesterday! I’ve always wanted one, so I was pretty excited!
![]()
Also I feel that we should do a BB convention sometime in the future, so we can all meet if we want and fangirl about rabbits
![]()
Moxie, I’m sure you’d make a lovely YouTube-channel! With the pups and Snickers and Moxie and the veranda skunk and the owls and chickens and fish and cats =)
Can’t believe those people were actually adults! They must’ve stopped growing intellectually around the age of 13.
Thanks Bam! I feel like I could have a lot of fun with it, and make it educational
Yup, they were all adults! The oldest of the 3 is 26 lol
A Venus fly plant! Will you have to catch bugs and feed them to it or does it manage on its own even if it’s in a house?
A BB convention would be great!
Hmm, I think it should be fine on it’s own as long as we have flies (I honestly have no idea though, I will need to research it more)? But we don’t really have flies at the moment, so I might need to catch it bugs LOL ![]()
Arrested development. lol
Moxie, I love the convention idea ![]()
Ellie- Three litres of bleach and I threw out the clothes I cleaned in. Like I am not a clean freak , but it was vile. Like I use the downstairs bathroom which I keep clean, but I couldnt walk past the other one and I had to clean it for my own sanity
They also started this awful disgusting habit,of leaving their rubbish in the hall outside their room. Not just bottles and paper rubbish, like proper food waste-takeaway food boxes that still had food inside. The thing is, those pieces of rubbish appeared on the landing about 2 weeks ago. But the oldest dated piece was a month old. It started to smell and I had no choice but to clean it, especially seeing as it had maggots in it.
It filled three black bin bags.
I have a huge fear of fly strike for my rabbits (for anyone who has never seen it in person it is one of the worst things I have ever seen-I’ve seen it in sheep, hedgehogs, rabbits and in some other unusual cases) and it became a genuine phobia of mine.
Dface, we have to get you out of that house!!!
Bladesmith, belated Happy Birthday wishes. (???) Or is it too sensitive a topic?
Sorry to hear you are struggling some without your girl there. How does she do being away from you that length of time?
Moxie, have you come up with a name for a channel?
Jersey, Not quite yet, it’s going to depend about what my channel focuses on. It’s probably going to involve my middle name somehow, because that’s what I would be going by since I am not sure about everyone on the internet having access to my real name. There are too many creeps nowadays LOL

No, it’s fine. Thank you! She does….ok. She has her little brother and stepsisters to play with and annoy, and she’s only about 45 minutes away. But we spend the whole school year together, Mon-Fri., and it’s just weird not having her about. Good thing is, when she gets fed up she can come home for a while. But I miss tucking her in at night, and her cat, Pyewacket, knows the schedule she’s supposed to be on, and keeps walking the house at night looking for her so she can go to bed with her. I am, it seems, a poor substitute for mommy.

If that isn’t a Law Firm, it should be.
![]()
*whoosh*
That is the sound of the law firm reference going right over my head.
Lol
Sorry guys, I’ll need that one explained to me. ![]()
Dface, that sounds awful about your house! I once lived with similarly terrible roommates… They would smoke cigarettes in the house and have parties with their friends on any night of the week (2am on a Tuesday? sure!). And they also left foul garbage everywhere. One morning I woke up to clouds of ash floating around the apartment, I followed them to the kitchen where I discovered the remains of a half-burned birthday cake. They had literally (and on purpose I later found out) set it on fire, just to see what would happen! I slept through this and apparently so did my fire alarm.
What a nightmare! Long story short, people are idiots and hopefully this is temporary housing and you will soon live in a more sanitary environment as I do now
Happy belated birthday Bladesmith! And I love the idea of a bunny law firm
is that the joke?
Yes, a bunny law firm was the joke.![]()
It looks like we’ll be getting a new furry family member on Sunday!
Not a bunny, sorry. I’m so excited I have trouble sleeping at night.
Happy belated birthday Bladesmith!
Dface: That’s disgusting! I hope you are able to get out of there soon. ![]()
Moxie: I’m sorry they acted so nasty, and it’s even worse that your friend didn’t have your back. I think the movie looks good too, you should definitely go see it. ![]()
Bwahahahaha! That’s a good one Bladesmith!
Jersey – The joke is that their names sound like a law firm, which is often the last names of the lawyers who have partnered together.
Ah, I see!
Thanks LBJ. Definitely with a name like Wiseman.
I think I would be very tempted to hire a lawyer called NumNoom!
No jury could resist that team of lawyers!
I’ve my Human Biology exam in two hours
its a second year module in an Open University biology degree and won’t be easy
Why Oh Why do we need so many complex interactions constantly going on inside us
and why can so many go wrong in so many ways
My eldest son has offered to take me out for a meal after though, so there is a tasty light at the end of the tunnel ![]()
Haaaaaaaazel !!!!!!!!!!! DON’T DO THAT !!!!!!!That’s just…. meeeean.
You HAVE to go further……. pleeeeease !!!!!
Share !!!!!
May the Force be with you during your exam, my friend! Don’t forget to tell us what you ate after (better yet, pictures please… I’m starving and stuck in my packed-up classroom for another hour and a half) ![]()
May the Force be with you, G.J! There certainly are many complicated processes going on in and around us. It seems to be rather a broad field, Human Biology. (Looked it up on Wiki. Not much left out, is there? Even sociocultural influences!) Really, really, really cool though!

Ditto ! Don’t leave us hanging!!
Im guessing something small and furry. Hamster, g/piggie, gerbril, ratty, mouse, chinchilla??
Or is Bubbles getting a friend?!
Yes please, Hazel! We need more details!!
Luna has been all about her cardboard boxes the last three days. They’ve been sitting there almost ignored for months, now all of a sudden they’re the new favourite toy again, no idea why ![]()
Haha, bunnies can be just like toddlers in this: sometimes a specific toy is all the rage, then it’s discarded for months, and suddenly it’s back into good graces again and being used all day. We swap out Breintje’s toys every few weeks to keep him interested.
Pfff, sometimes birthday wishlists practically write themselves. I was penning down mine yesterday night, and I heard loud tire screeches from the busy road outside my house. “Proper First Aid kit..” Luckily there wasn’t a crash, the driver managed to avoid it just in time. I live next to a major road leaving the city on the north side, the major artery for all the surrounding villages in the hinterlands. This street is intersected by the main road through the northern neighbourhoods, and our flat is on the crossing of these. At midnight the traffic lights turn off and the artery gets the right of way. I’ve seen and heard so many crashes, it’s crazy how many times I’ve been up there stabilising someone’s neck etc. My neighbour told me a couple of months ago: “You’re a bit like an owl: up until all hours and nearly always in your den. Until something happens, then you quickly swoop out.”
Exam is over, all the force vibes worked, as all the questions were ones I could do, and I finished in plenty of time. currently torrential rain out so not sure if we’ll go for meal, and I’m STARVING after that hard work!
Good for you GJ!!
Sounds like you have to take a literal rain check tho. : (
Ellie, what’s the idea behind turning off the traffic lights at midnight??
Haaazel, a doggy??

Or is Bubbles getting a friend?!
Nooo jersey, god no… ![]()
![]()
It’s a… German Shorthaired Pointer puppy!
We’re calling him Otis. He’s 11 weeks old now and still smaller than Mosby. I hope I can get a picture of them sitting next to each other while he’s still this small. ![]()
Gina: Congrats on getting through your exam! I hope you got your celebratory dinner! ![]()
Hazel, pictures please ![]()
So my washer/dryer is back. I guess third time was a charm. Too bad that whoever put it back together again couldn’t get it to fit properly – gaps along the seams, filter door no longer attached, etc. I’m going to take the casing apart and try to refit it myself… it better at least work properly or there will be hell to pay in addition to a refund. ![]()
@Gina.Jenny: awesome! I hope you get to enjoy a great dinner
@jersey: sure beats me… *mumbles something about it hopefully having nothing to do with the national shortage of organ donors* Our city is a great example of how NOT to govern traffic planning and water management. The point is that it was a very small town until the textile industry boomed at the end of the 19th centrury and nobody could ever imagine that the population would increase 5 times over in just 30 years.
So you have the typical European medieval town layout of a church and a market square surrounded by shops, surrounded by drainage canals. It was a trading hub for the surrounding villages, so there was a road leading from the centre towards each village. These roads became major arteries later on. The town expanded in circles with a canal around each circle. The massive population influx lead to the filling of the canals, which were replaced with roads going in concentric cicles around the city centre. All traffic going through town has to travel over those circles, which are intersected every 300 m or so by a massive artery. Traffic is hell here, especially during rush hour. Expect to meet at least 15 traffic lights along your route. So nowadays we have both a traffic problem and a drainage problem, because filling a canal is about the most stupid thing you can do while living in NL. When it rains tunnels become flooded and whole sections of major roads have to be cut off. Civil engineering students could really learn a lot by studying us
We’re often very envious about those properly planned American or Australian cities.
@Hazel: squee! I’m totally waiting for pics here!
@Q8: youch… I hope everything will work well. Otherwise I’d have to hint that approx. 25% of our nation’s fields are planted with spuds. Not to set you up to any evil ideas, mind you, but a spud cannon is easily made
Hazel !!!! I KNEW it was a puppy !!!!!!!!!!! Nothing else you wouldn’t not be able to sleep for !!!!
How exciiiiiiting !!!!!
I hope he knows what a bunny is….. and bunny smells ! LOL.

I so hope he’ll point at Oscar, I got the perfect caption for that picture! ![]()
Here he is:
ok strange news (watch out Vienna) “cat serial killer in France stalks town with poison” poor cats 200 were killed. ![]()
PUPPEH!
He’s a cutie pie. ![]()
Ahhhh!! Congrats Hazel and Hubby! He is just gorgeous. ::heart eyes:: Welcome Otis!
What a cutie!!!
Hi Otis!
When I was a kid I went through a phase of wanting a German Wirehaired Pointer, just thought they looked cool I guess ![]()
Podge is off to the vets in a few hours for his Myxi/RHD jab, I’m sure he’d welcome some calming vibes!
Gina is under a different vet and has her jab on Friday – what a way for her to celebrate her second bunniversary with us ![]()
Good jab vibes Podge
I’m sure all will be well
I think my pair aren’t due till September, but I really should double check.
I have to keep track with six to remember! Jenny, Snickers and Mini are all due in August, Pippi in Dec. Thank goodness Latte doesn’t need ’em!
Its a Study Free Day – Yaaaay
my youngest had his last exam yesterday too, so all three of us have a welcome break
Now we swap revision for waiting for results ![]()
Very high winds in Northern France for the past 24hrs
Bad news for Roland Garros tennis spectators amd players..
Reaaaally good news for Willow branch windfall (literally!!!
)
Be strong, Podge! Bam sends lots of jab-vibes. He says “It’s not so bad and you get a treat after”.
Podge is mid-moult, I hope the vet won’t think he’s too scruffy
and Bam is right – defo treat time after
Approximately 12 hours after introducing dig boxes to both rabbits, I have realised I have made a horrible mistake.
I used soil.
It is everywhere.
Hopefully its enough of a distraction from the fact Yumi is getting her injections later today -_- And a check up-her ears seem to be annoying her :/
Sampras was so good at getting injections and treated at the vet, Yumi acts like she’s being tortured.
Podge, my love, put on a stiff upper lip and think about how tasty that treat will be! Sending heaps of love from the sunny sandpit. ![]()
Dface. Rofl. This is why, after a similar experience, in my dig box (a huge plastic flower tub) there is only 3 or 4 inches of soil for sides which are over a foot high!!!! LOL
they can dig whilst flinging earth VERTCIALLY upwards between their back legs !! Amazing.

See, this is why I don’t have a dig box, even though I want to give them one. My home is VERY small (2/1, less than 800 sq feet), and with the multiple litter boxes and all my furniture (I had to cram a 3/2 1800 into a 2/1 in a hurry), there’s just no more ROOM, lol.
If I ever get rid of this power chair and maybe a love seat, then I’ll give them a dig box. I already have to replace the carpet (Thanks Dawn), so I little dig sand won’t make it worse.
At the moment my home makes me want to cry. My machine was finally returned to me, only not quite reassembled properly – gaps at the seams and things not screwed back on, and bits out of place… The icing on the cake was that the a$$hole tech didn’t drain the drum after presumably testing the machine. So when I tilted it to wheel it to its alcove in the kitchen, a massive amount of filthy water poured out onto my living room carpet. I don’t know if it works yet because for the first time in my life I thought I’d have a stroke from sheer rage. I’m hypotensive but my BP must’ve gone through the roof because I blacked out and then came to with a nosebleed. After resting a bit, I discovered that the machine no longer fit through the kitchen door it came out through. I had to remove the friggin door frame, and even so the edges/sides of the machine got gashed. Gods keep me for just one more year…
Geez Q8! I hope you are okay! From your photos, you have a lot of tile, so that could have been very bad passing out on such hard flooring.
I hate to say it but is it possible they’ve still given you a different machine but with your casing put on it? Did they know about the distinguishing features you were looking for to recognise your machine? ie. the repaired scratch and stickers. Were these only on the casing?
No, it’s mine. Chewie’s fur is all over the inside ![]()
It’s just that nothing was put back together so that it fits ‘flush’, you know? Like badly built LEGO stuff ![]()
Grrrrr so mad for you.
Podge’s vet says ‘he is in beautiful condition’
hopefully that’ll cheer you a bit?
Always!
I love that floof. ![]()
Ahhh Hazel!! So cute!!! You get a puppy and I get braces (a little later than most people do, but that’s okay), how unfair
![]()
Congrats, Moxie!
Did you ever watch Braceface? It was one of my Saturday morning cartoons guilty pleasures ![]()
Nope, I’ve never heard of it actually! xD I got my braces today, so to lift my spirits, I decided to go to the store and buy stuff for Moxie LOL
I got her a new litterbox, a large bird toy, a treat dispenser toy and some cleaning supplies and treats ha ha
![]()
Moxie, you’ll look exactly like Darla in Finding Nemo!
(No you won’t, of course.) My niece had braces for like ages, 2 years almost. But it was so worth it because her teeth are perfect now.
Bam– Me and my goldfish, lol, I will be exactly like Darla haha
I’m supposed to have mine for 22 months, so I’m in the same boat as your niece was haha
![]()
Today is either going to be fine, or it’s going to be a really, really bad day. Will let you know when I find out ![]()
Oh Az….. that’s almost as mean as Hazel, in a different way…..
So, so, so hope it’s gonna be fine for you – of course it WILL be
((( Hugs )))
Lucky you were right, it was fine
So relieved. Hubby was home sick from work last week and his boss had seemed unreasonably upset about it even though he did everything right with calling in ahead of time and getting doctor’s notes etc, then his manager didn’t schedule him this week and said he couldn’t be trusted, followed by a message last night that said “Please come and see me at 12 tomorrow to discuss your future employment with the store” which was highly suggestive of “you’re being fired” without saying it. Fortunately hubby says she was actually quite reasonable and just discussed a few things and now he’s working the next few days
All that stress and worry for nothing I guess, haha.
Thinking about buying a new carrier for the buns tomorrow as well. I currently have a small cat carrier, but I fancy I could do with a slightly larger one with a top that opens, as well as the door. It’s very hard to herd two buns into the open door of a carrier at the same time. So having one with a door on top will make it easier to plop the second one in without the first escaping in the process
It should also make it easier for vet visits, when you open the carrier, and the bunny you want is hiding at the back, haha.
It did seem an ominous message!!! So glad it went ok. ![]()
Phew… gotta love a happy ending ![]()
Yes, indeed!
I’m not sure if this link will work, I couldn’t find the video on youtube. Hard to know what to search for when it’s in German. But an adorable commercial with a house rabbit: https://www.facebook.com/groups/aussierabbits/permalink/1642873082408090/
Edit: Found it on youtube, just not in HD. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSm3yFVZRJM
Cute ad! Eerily accurate, too. ![]()
Really cute and accurate ad!
I hope your hubby’s boss stays reasonable, Az.
I had a big scare this morning, I went up and put on coffee and called Effi (dog) to take her out – and she couldn’t stand up on her legs. She tried, but fell, her hind legs weren’t cooperating. She just squealed and couldn’t stand at all. I called my mother because my SO is away at a conference so she’d have to come and drive us and I called the vet and had to wait in a telephone queue and Effi started to throw up. She couldn’t get up on her feet for 1,5 hours (the time it took my mum to get here).
Anyway, we’ve been to the vet now, they did a full blood panel and x-rays and an ultrasound of the uterus and found – nothing. So I got to take her home with an antiinflammatory and we have a new appt in 2 weeks. It could’ve been a spinal TIA attack. No signs of anything infectious.
((Effi))
aww poor baby hope she gets better.
Aww no, poor Effi
Maybe she’s been bitten by something or eaten something toxic? Hopefully it’s just a bit of swelling in the area and once it goes down she’ll be alright. I really hope she’s ok. ((((((Effi)))))
Thank you, Gina! It was really so weird because she hasn’t had a sick day since May 2010 (Had a bit of a stomach bug that time). I hope it’s nothing bad. No fever, normal bp, no signs of pyometra etc etc.
Glad to hear the vet too thinks Podge is in beautiful condition! It’s not just us BBers then =)
Boo… poor Effi
I hope it was just a passing health gremlin. (((Effi)))
Oh no, poor Effi. You must have been so scared!
I hope there won’t be any of these scary episodes anymore.
Oh no Effi!
((((Good Health Vibes))))
So a fox caught one of our chickens yesterday (he was outside of the run, and the dumb chicken decided this would be the perfect time to fly out of the run. the fox caught her in mid air), but we were able to chase the fox, and the fox eventually dropped the chicken. The chicken was surprisingly unharmed, and she was very happy to be returned to the other chickens.

What a great outcome, Moxie! That fox would make an excellent retriever dog.

What a great outcome, Moxie! That fox would make an excellent retriever dog.
Or rug. Sorry, having lost over 50 chickens to predators and feral dogs, I have no kindness left for predators after my critters.
Bladesmith, I have no sympathy for predators either. But it was very lucky this suicidal chicken made it. Retriever dogs are trained to never bite down on the (dead) ducks they retrieve, thats why I came to think of a retriever dog.
What a lucky chicken! I have no sympathy for the foxes either, a fox made off with my guinea pig when I was a kid: guinea pig was not as lucky
I’m going in for laser eye surgery in a few hours. Pretty nervous, but if all goes well I will be a laser-enhanced human with 20/20 vision! Medicine is so cool nowadays.
((((Thorbunny’s eyes))))
Good luck ThorBunny! (((((Vibes)))))
The chicken is just really lucky that we saw what happened and were able to rescue her. If we weren’t, she would have been long gone!
Having lost multiple animals to different types of predators (chickens are such easy prey… )
I have to disagree with the previous statements, I don’t think it’s fair to dislike a creature for doing what it was designed to do, in order to survive.
Something people frequently forget is that our homes, roads and presence destroy their habitats. They have to adjust to a life that involves us, and the animals we keep, as more often than not, our domestic animals are the reason the wild species for them are missing, even when we consider ourselves to live in “rural” areas.
I have to say I agree with Dface… predators are designed to prey on other animals. That being said – if I catch a harmless black snake meandering over to my bird aviary to eat more birds – yes it has happened before and I’m rebuilding the aviary to better keep snakes out – I’ll kill that snake, and have. I’v killed 2 or 3 snakes that were 5-6 feet long, and either heading for – or already in the aviary. Sorry to all the predators that were designed to eat birds – I don’t dislike them, they are doing what they were created to do. But I won’t have my pets fall prey.
Dface & Vanessa— I agree with you both (there’s really no animal that i don’t like to be honest lol). However, it is still my job to protect the animals in my care from predators, which could potentially lead to tough decisions. Luckily we’ve never had to kill a predator (And I NEVER want to), and we are perfectly fine with them going on their way (like the fox, and the martin/mink that we had). ![]()
Thorbunny. You go !!! Its a wheeze. The build up is sooo scary but the actual thing is like…. “hey, already over??” LOL
I had it done in 2014. Not 20/20 vision, but I’m not young (!) so they make one eye slightly shortsighted. When the natural process of near sightedness takes hold, the short sighted eye becomes perfect…..
. Soooo clever.
Enjoy sleeping in your bug eye glasses…. hahahahaha (its to stop the eyes rubbing against pillow or you rubbing in your sleep)
Are you having Lasik or Lasek?
I want to share my UTTER excitement with you about tickets that I thought I couldn’t get (as already sold out) but have got today for a concert at the beginning of July……
2 clues : Titanic and Rene…… !!!!!!!!
![]()
No way, Vienna!!! That is so exciting. She is my everything.
I hope it’s amazing for you.
I saw her a few years ago and it was nothing less than spectacular.
That’s really cool Vienna! I bet you’ll have tons of fun!
I really wanted to go to a concert at the end of July, but I’d have to travel out of state, and the only tickets left were $320 a piece, so that definitely isn’t going to happen lol
Poor Effi, I hope it isn’t anything serious.
On the topic of predators, I have to agree with Dface and Vanessa. We are encroaching on THEIR habitat. We have thrown the ecosystem out of balance. Predators have a harder and harder time surviving. If they see easy prey, of course they are going to attempt to get a meal. It’s just what they do. Humans killing predators has actually caused a lot more harm to local ecosystems than anyone could have every imagined. An iconic example (and evidence) of this is Yellowstone. Wolves are a keystone species. Without them, the entire ecosystem falls apart. So no, I would never hate a predator for doing what comes natural to them. That’s why my cat was an indoor-only cat and why my buns don’t go outside. We have foxes in the neighborhood and I very much want them to stay. Even though they sound like they are dying at night each spring.
And snakes, I absolutely love snakes. I cared for many snakes in the past. Hehe, guess which one was my favorite?
Oh, fun fact! When mortality rates are high, mid-level predators such as foxes and coyotes respond by having larger litters. So killing them can actually cause their numbers to increase.
That’s really cool, LBJ! I took this great MOOC on Animal behavior from the uni of Melbourne, and there were lots of examples on how nature regulates the ratio of male to female offspring during times of affluence or hardship. It was really quite amazing.
I don’t hate predators either. They have to eat. But I don’t sympathize with them eating my pets, as Moxie says, the animals we keep are our responsibility to try and protect.
I hope Effi will be ok. Poor little girl. Just woke me up at 3 am to go out, she of course doesn’t do that normally.
Thor: enjoy your new X-ray laser vision superpowers
Moxie: I get your point, but I get The Fantastic Mr Fox as well – in the end nature will take her course: sometimes the hoomans/chickens win, and sometimes the hoomans/foxes win.
Vienna: I’m happy that you’re happy but I must be the only person around who can’t stand the woman’s warbling voice/shrieking (or the movie Titanic)
But since you’re obviously stoked, YAY! ![]()
Got the new carrier for the buns today. It’s actually barely bigger than the last one, but there is a little more room. Plus the top opening door is big enough for me get Apollo in and out of it (I tested it, he wasn’t happy). But, now we are more prepared for whenever our next vet visit will be
Luna was a real little miss this morning. I knelt down to top up their hay, I guess she was excited because as I was putting the hay in the rack she snuck up on the other side of me and bit my leg, now I have a bruise. I can’t believe she did that!
Bam, how is Effi today?
((((((((((Sweet Effii ))))))))))))
Up for unexpected night weewee…..??? Something is obviously going on at the back end there……
unless its just a reaction to the antiinflamms etc….
Luna!!! That’s not considered good manners! Biting the leg that’s feeding you!
Effi seems her normal self. She’s doing the antiinflammatories for a week, and then she’ll be without for a week before we go back to the vet so we can determine if there’s a difference.
Vienna, I don’t like it that you’re going to a huge concert. I know they say we should keep on doing what we normally do etc etc, but still.
I can see!!
Well I’m on my way anyways, my eyes are still pretty sore but I can tell it worked!!!! Best decision ever.
On the subject of predators, I definitely did not mean to indicate that I am anti fox in general or anti predators, more like Bam said that I have a loyalty to my pets, and was glad the fox did not get the chicken
On a side note, I love snakes too, and spiders (I used to be a spider researcher in University). But my hubby put his foot down about keeping them as pets in the house. Bunny is more more up his alley, lol.
Glad to hear Effi seems to be feeling better! And have fun at the concert Vienna ![]()
Concert is early July.
No bam, we can’t stop doing everything and you can be sure that there will be HUGE security – that’s the only advantage of it already having happened…
With cars being used as weapons now, you may as well just stay at home, because everyone has access to one and could happen anywhere, anytime….
So enjoy life, continue living and say “I love you” (to those you do!! :lagh: ) and hug a little tighter and a little longer than you normally would…
![]()
My youngest is celebrating his 18th by going to an all weekend festival, ‘Download’ with a group of uni friends. He never was a kid you could wrap in cotton wool, and nothing would have talked him out of going. I also agree, VB is right, and we can’t let things stop. I’m sure security will be in place, but I will be just slightly anxious this weekend ![]()
See, now I feel like a big ol bully. Look, I love animals. So much I spent 8 years as an SPCA investigator (Which is NOT a job you want if you have a soft heart for animals and no sympathy for humans who abuse them…). And I ADORE foxes. So clever, so beautiful. Only was ever at odds with one once. We had more issues with coyotes (Coyotes are dicks.) and feral dogs (feral dog owners are dicks). I’ve had coyotes run up to me and screech to a stop right at my feet in pursuit of a chicken. Which made shooting it that much easier.
See, after the hurricanes of 2004, our well protected chicken coops got smushed by Hurricane Charlie. I mean corkscrewed right into the ground as if by the hand of God himself. We didn’t lose a single chicken to the storm, including a clutch of 9 day old chicks. Our own home sustained severe damage. Despite our best emergency housing efforts, feral dogs came along and slaughtered our birds, for sport. None of them were eaten, the dogs just killed them for fun. Including my pet cochin, Junebug, who would run across the yard and jump on my shoulder and ride around with my while I tended to the animals, chuckling to me the whole time. She was my buddy. So yeah, I have a grudge against wanton killers.
Yes, I know human encroach on predators territories, and they encroach on ours, and it’s a never ending battle. I would never wantonly destroy any living animal (My killing days are well over after my military service.), but sometimes it’s necessary. I don’t enjoy it.
And as it stands now, I have port and starboard snakes living around my house. There’s a 5′ yellow rat snake under my front steps, and a 3′ black racer under my back steps. but I don’t have any outdoor animals anymore. Too much work and expense for me. The rabbits, and cats, parrot and lizard cost enough as it is. But if I could……
awe poor junebug chicken i LOVE LOVE LOVE them I have one her name is obscura she is a red color. (so pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I totally get you Bladesmith! Instincts to feed are one thing, but animals killing for sport is completely unacceptable. I have a soft spot for anything fluffy, and I’ll cuddle cats to bits, but only as long as they’re kept indoors! If any cat tries to invade my home/garden while Breintje is in there, it’ll get a bucket of water. Here in NL we have a massive problem with domestic cats: we’re a small country with a lot of people and even more pets. Especially cats are popular. However, many people let their cats out day and night and they’ll even wander into other peoples’ houses. My father had a huge financial set-back due to a cat wandering into his home: it completely tore up the left seat of his new expensive leather couch (value: about half a month’s salary)! But he didn’t know whom the cat belonged to, so insurance refunds were out of the question.
The main problem with outdoors cats here is the threat to wildlife. I don’t care if cat owners want to acknowledge it or not, but cats kill for fun. It’s in their nature. They don’t only hunt to feed, but also hunt to play and harm wildlife and other peoples’ pets in the process. Many nature organisations are demanding that laws are changed, because there are so many cats living in such a small country. They’re quickly tearing through endangered species of birds and critters. Cats are also a potential danger to outdoor pets who’re kept in the backyard in cages like songbirds, rabbits and guinea pigs. I definitely hope that peoples’ views on this will change and that the owners will take their responsibility: your pet, your responsibility. Nice that you’ve got yourself a pet, but don’t let it wander and wreak havoc on the neighbourhood. It’s outrageous that people let their pets wander, especially predators. You don’t let dogs wander either, and they are way more domesticated and tame than cats.
I always talk to cat owners about their pet’s instincts and most of them will look at you with huge frightened eyes in instant denial-mode: “Oh no, my sweet little fluffykins would never do that!”. Sorry dear, but it’s still a hunter and cats are far less domesticated than other predators like dogs. Cats will kill for fun, and most owners have absolutely no idea what mischief their cat gets up to outdoors. If they viciously attack a toy mouse or a feather on a string, they’ll also go after someone else’s pets or the local wildlife.
A friend of ours started to think about what I said after she got many complaints from neighbours, and she finally decided to keep her cats indoors. They secured their garden with wire mesh, so if the cats want to enjoy themselves outdoors they can do so without endangering other animals. The cats don’t seem to mind, they are as happy as ever. And the neighbours are a lot happier as well, not having to fear for their own pets anymore. I hope this will become a more common attitude, pet owners will sleep a lot easier if they don’t have to fear for their own pets in their own houses.
What’s a June bug chicken? I tried googling it. Mostly found expressions like “like a chicken on a June bug”.
Bam got to be outside today. He seemed rather pleased. The weather was perfect for a bun, not too hot but no rain.
Bam, I think the chicken’s name was Junebug, and she was a Cochin chicken. I only know, because I already looked it up myself
I’m also an avid cat lover, I still consider myself a crazy cat lady, even though I don’t have a cat
Even so, I also dislike cats being allowed to roam outdoors. The harm to wildlife is a big deal for me, not to mention wandering through people’s yards, potentially killing other people’s pets and also wandering into their homes. That’s not even touching the tip of the iceberg with the risks to outdoor cats and their shortened life expectancy. At our house, we have at least 5 different cats that wander through our yard at times.
lol, Bam the chicken’s name is June bug the type is a cochin
My parents have that problem too. There are a few huge fat “regulars” who roam the back yard (which is big, with old growth trees, and all manner of food cultivated by my dad). On more than one occasion they’ve been caught hunting – which sucks because the yard gets a lot of migratory birds and hedgies and bunnies and raccoon babies, etc. My parents mentioned this to the owners, who swore up and down that their gentle kitties only eat kibble and simply go outside to take the air. So my dad tried to argue that their poo/pee is burning holes in the lawn (which it is) and that he wants them kept away from our yard (six foot fences don’t stop them), but the neighbours argued that it’s the lack of southwestern sunshine that’s causing the yellow spots. Now my dad own a pellet gun and big fat cat butts are moving target practice. ![]()
I think my car of 17 years has given up the ghost.
R.I.P. It’s served me well. I knew the day was coming.. *sigh*
What about this Q8?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTDvbvFR2vw
That sucks about your car jersey. 17 years is a pretty good life to have given you though. I think the longest I had any of mine is 2 years. I guess I just picked the duds
Used car shopping is not my forte, nor is regular car maintenance, lol. That costs money
I’m so glad it’s a 3 day weekend, I feel like I’ve been running around like a headless chook today. Dropped hubby at work, went to the farmer’s market, came home. Went to the supermarket to do the grocery shopping, came home. Went to the shopping centre to buy an iron and ironing board (hubby got his proper work shirt, we’ve managed without an iron till now but alas no more
), came home. Went to fodder store for a new bale of hay and assorted seeds to make a sprout mix for Dory, came home. Cleaned up the remnants of the old hay bale and put away the new bale followed by clean-up. Found a redback spider right by the outside of the laundry door so then more clean up and used a surface spray to kill it and around all the back doorways. Fun fun. Now I’ve realised that while I want to attempt to make the sprout mix from the seeds I bought, I don’t have enough containers so I’m considering a trip to the cheap store for some mason style jars. I also had plans to give the bunny zone a deep clean in addition to Dory’s cage with a full perch rearrangement, but I feel that’s going to be a job for tomorrow. Bunnies are also overdue for grooming and nail clips. There’s just not enough time in the day
TL;DR. Busy day, where did the time go ![]()
Jersey: 17 years is impressive! My dream is to find a pre-70s VW Beetle (the air cooled kind) that’s been completely restored
Az: Wow! Busy day indeed! Nice going!
LBJ: Not unless the owners of the cats offer to pay for it. lol Plus target shooting is way more entertaining.
LBJ, that was kind of cool! Cats are lovely, but they are also a menace to lots and lots of birds.
Blue Moon, thanks =) I got lots of Google hits for Cochin chicken, they look adorable!
ETA: Has anyone tried the Twin Peaks-sequel yet? I have to say I find it annoying, but so far I’ve only watched (=endured) the first 14 minutes.
Stressful week, project meeting that I didn’t do enough work for, so now I need to give a progress report next week(the level of work I’ve done so far for it is negligible)
I’ve been trying to appeal a grade for one of my modules (I wasn’t expecting an A or anything -Im a high C low B kinda person, but her feedback looked like she hadn’t even read my essay and I was a mark away from failing.) Which is working out to be very demoralizing and time consuming.
And on top of that Yumi is just being wicked -I let her out to play and she ran to Peeps pen and started trying to chew her way in-I went to stop her and got a nasty bite on my foot from her for my troubles -_- I know it was her focus on another rabbit, in ‘her’ territory-my room is very much her domain
.
She acts like she’s being submissive and grooming, then she bites Peep. Often out of nothing.
“groom groom groom AAAAANNNNNND I BITE NOW”
I really hate bonding…
I think poppy is sick. I think she ate a cherry pit. she’s acting really strange. so can I have some tips on how to tell if she is just being weird or sick please. ![]()
Can you ring the vet for advice, it sounds concerning to me, if she ate something she shouldn’t and is now acting strangely. I think it is a case of better safe than sorry!
Dface, you have all my sympathy with unfairly marked assignments, I hope you get somewhere with the appeal. My eldest son and I have both had to question marks for an assignment in the past few months, we both got the correct mark as a result, hopefully you will too.
In what way is she acting strange, Blue Moon? If you really think she ate a cherry pit, call the vet. There’s a bitter almond tasting compound (amygdaline) in the kernel that turns to cyanide when it gets into the tummy. I don’t know how much of this is needed for it to cause poisoning in a rabbit.
umm well she was acting strangely but I did the treat test and she seemed fine. she just gave me a big scare
. but she was just not very perky compared to the usual and was acting very skittish. ( think I scared her by grabbing her last night and trying to get the pit out of her mouth). i did not find any tooth marks on any pits so I think if she was actually eating it she ate the whole thing. but again now she is acting normal (more cuddly for whatever reason)
Q8 – I just thought it would be helpful in keeping the kitties OUT of your yard if you were able to put it on your fence. ;p
Blue Moon, that’s a relief! Hope she stays cuddly ?
What do you guys think of these:
https://www.trailblazeroutdoors.co.uk/products/le-chameau-traqueur
My niece went to see the Mummy tonight, she’s promised me a review.
They look like a very expensive pair of gumboots
Are they for hiking? Or are they just a gumboot that’s meant to be worn all day? I’m afraid I don’t understand the price ![]()
Az, I’d get them at a much better price, like 138 AUD. And they’d be for hiking.
But it won’t happen because tonight it’s become clear there’s sth very wrong with Effi, she’s been panting sth terrible for hours now. Ever since her vet visit she’s been acting her normal self -albeit a tad subdued, but I think that’s the NSAID. But then she started panting around 11 pm last night and it’s just gotten worse. Poor dear sweet darling. Every penny I have will go towards her care, of course. (She has insurance).
Poor Effi-and you. Hope her symptoms abate ((vibes))
Aww, poor Effi. I’m very sorry to hear that she’s taken another turn. I hope you can figure out what it is and make her better. How old is she?
{{{Effi}}} ! So worrying for you, bam. Keeping her and you in my thoughts.
Those boots are pretty cool. Kevlar! I never knew boots like that could be made. Its a great idea.
Sending {{{vibes}}} for Poppy also! How is she doing today, BM?
Re my car, it really has been good to me. I got it second hand too, so it’s older then 17. But it’s at the age now where repairs will cost more then the value of the car. So at the moment, it’s a pretty fancy hay storage container. :p
Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that Bam. I can’t remember, how old is Effi?
I had no idea they made rubber boots for hiking, Bam. Huh… interesting about the Kevlar use, too.
I hope the vet manages to figure out what’s ailing Effi so that you can tackle the cause. Hoping she feels better soon. (((Effi)))
(((Effi))) hope vet finds an answer and asap x
Thank you ???
Effi is almost 9 (B-day October 1). I’ll stop hijacking the chat thread now. It was just so scary in the middle of the night. I’ll start a separate thread for Effi later if there’s a need.
How cool, the Iphone emoticons work here! They don’t look exactly like they’re supposed to on my PC (in Chrome), but good enough!
Rubber boots -gumboots, Wellingtons! – are used for hiking here quite a lot, esp up north in the wilderness because hikers have to wade across streams, there are no bridges. But where I live, good leather hiking boots is probably the best option.
Bam. This is what it’s for! Oh poor Efii. Poor you. Unexplained excessive panting is not nice either, especially in the middle of the night.
(((( bug hugs sweet Effi ))))
Don’t worry about hijacking the thread at all, please keep us in the loop about how Effi is doing
Yes, not much need for gumboots while hiking here, a stream… what’s that?!
Although gumboots would be great snake bite prevention
The bunnies are having a blast this morning, lots of binkies and so many zoomies. Luna raced around for a while, then Apollo did zoomies in a tiny circle in the upper level of the condo around the bendy bridge, lol. Now they’re both out and racing around. So cute
I did a full clean of their playpen and cage yesterday (well overdue), you don’t realise how dirty the rug is until you vacuum it ![]()
How’s Effi doing now?
Yay, Bas just zoomed by with some great gifts for my birthday! I’m being spoilt rotten this year ![]()
His parents gave me a computer speaker set. I’d never have dared to ask for such a pricey gift and I was quite upset when Bas said that they wanted us to think up something a bit more special than the items on my wishlist. He came up with the idea for it because Breintje has broken my current set. He ran underneath my desk, and it was done within a second: *snip!* straight trough the main cable. I twisted back the wires together and held them together with tape, but it was never the same after that. We often have to fiddle with the wires because we’ve lost the sound in one of the speakers.
The real surprises were for my biggest hobby: making costumes. He bought me a “skirt marker” and a parallel tracing wheel. With a skirt maker you can easily determine the correct seam height for skirts, dresses and mantles. It then blows a small puff of chalk in a line so you can make a perfect seam. With the tracing wheel you can set a certain distance, and the wheel draws the seam allowance. I never knew that I needed one until I saw it! ^_^
Ellie, I think Bas is a very, very strong candidate for Best Boyfriend of the Year ?
HB Ellie !!!!! ??????? Bas is THE Man !!!!!!! And his parents sound v nice too. They obv like you too…..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! ??
Happy Birthday
Ellie: I forgot to say

happy birthday Ellie
I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can walk now with out the boot and cast I literally woke up yesterday and was like wow my ankle feels totally fine. and i walked the whole day and still felt the same FINE!!! yay I’m so happy it has been 2 1/2 months in pain and now I can walk normally so happy
Happy Birthday Ellie!
That’s great BM! You’ll have to make up for lost time.
Happy Birthday Ellie ! ![]()
Happy birthday Ellie!!!
Thank you everyone!
Also: yay, our little chubster weighed 1229 gram this morning. That’s steadily down from 1600 gram within 2 years. We’re going to take him to the V-E-T (shhhhht!) today, and I thought she’d like a more accurate measurement. Their exam table has a built-in scale, but its accuracy is 0,1 kg which is totally fine for a Saint Bernard but not so accurate for a dwarf bun.
Congratulations Blue Moon, I can feel the relief from here ^_^
BM, that’s really great! Now you can have a lovely summer =)
Update on Effi: I honestly don’t know how she is. Most of the time she seems fine. And then she doesn’t. No hind weakness at all. We did rear end awareness exercises yesterday like we did when she was young, and she didn’t have a problem. She can back all the way around a book while standing on it with her forefeet, in both directions. She can back around me no problem.
She mirrors me, making it very difficult for me to see if she’s ok.
thanks everyone I’m so excited to go swimming
poor Effi ((((((Effi))))))
bam: I hope you and the vet can figure out what’s going on. Weird how her condition changes just like that.
Happy Birthday Ellie! ![]()
Sorry to hear about Effi, I hope it’ll go away soon.
Breintje was a bit naughty at the vet: he bit into the scope which she used to check his teeth and wouldn’t let go. Otherwise it went fine, he’s as fit as a fiddle.
Does anyone feel like their vet is always trying their best to find and point out the few things that you’re not doing for your pet? As if they need something to complain about. Our new vet seems to be this type, the previous one was always super positive and so happy that Breintje is treated better than many others.
The new vet noted that he was in good health, being spoilt with tasty veggies every day, that he can roam freely to interact with us, and gets plenty of attention all day. You saw her thinking and suddenly she asked if Breintje got sunshine every day, and that this is super important. Why aren’t you letting him out every day? Ehm, well because the grass in front of our apartment is a mess and there are cats on the prowl everywhere… Just last week the guy two doors up nearly lit my hair on fire while dropping a burning cigarette butt. I’m not going to clean the whole mess up every day so that Breintje can be outside.
According to her that was very dangerous to his health, and we should start giving him vit. D drops every day. Well miss, I think you’re complaining just for the sake of it… I’m sure Breintje is being treated better than 95% of all bunsters here in NL, and he gets plenty of outdoor time once or twice a week during the warm season.
I feel for you, Ellie, and agree with you completely. But my bunny guru vet (before she retired… booo) emphasized the same thing. Unlike wild buns, most domestic buns, despite love and pampering and enriched pellets, don’t get the D3 they require because like humans, they don’t necessarily absorb oral D well (it’s best absorbed in conjunction with fat, on top of it all). So from her years of bunny treatment in the UK and other countries, domestic buns are more prone to soft/spongy bones, and the accompanying tooth problems, breaks, and bone damage from abscesses than their wild or outdoors counterparts. This is one of the biggest reasons I moved up my relocation by a year: Chewie is no longer able to go outside for months at a time due to weather, and because he’s developed a mortal fear of the local stray cats. So I need to be somewhere where I can safely expose him to a few hours of sunshine each week. Please don’t get me wrong: plenty of buns are just fine without significant exposure to sunlight. But it is a risk factor (however small) worth considering. My vet said that even letting the bun bask in a puddle of sunshine from an open window for 10-15 minutes a day is enough. Sadly, my apartment has loads of windows but no direct sunshine from any of them. ![]()
Huh! I have never heard this about sunshine!
I also have a ton of windows in my apartment but no direct light onto the floor for Thorbun… We do have a nice, but small grassy area in front of our apartment that I could try bringing her out in (highly supervised in a large x-pen). I’ve refrained up until now because I thought risk of stress from street noise may be too high, or possible illnesses. We live on the eastern coast of the US in a fairly large metro area, so I don’t think there are raccoons and I’ve never seen any ticks. Opinions on risk/reward of outdoor time?
Uh, I wonder if that’s why I’ve seen Chester sleeping in a puddle of sunshine since the weather improved. And I always thought he was a bit silly doing that, with the possibility of overheating.
Since rabbits are crepuscular they don’t need lots of intense UV rays (thank goodness, because they’d not survive in this country if they did), but I take Bam outside for the vitamin D. I have connected two metal runs and Bam seems to rather like being outside. Yohio hated it.
The vets that have vaccinated my buns have always asked if they get time outside. And they have seemed pleased when I say they do. Not a word about vitamin D. I suspect they assume all indoors buns live in small cages where they’re bored senseless 97% of the time.
If your vet is new she might just be trying to cover all bases. I hope that’s it, because it’s so important to have a vet you feel you can communicate well with.
Dory (parrot) is being extremely mischievous today. If I’m honest since being sick last week I haven’t let her out in over a week which is downright terrible. We had a good start to her play time as it was the first time training for her to go in her travel carrier (chickpeas and almonds worked a treat) and she was in there and eating within 5 minutes and she stayed in there for at least 15 minutes. But ever since then, she’s been trying to chew this and that, throwing hay from the hay tub everywhere, climbing in places she shouldn’t and chewing things she never has shown any interest in before. It’s downright tiring, lol. Still, it’s been a good chance to scrub some of her perches that were overdue for a clean, change up the perch placement in her cage, switch out toys and add some fresh flowering foliage.
Apollo and Luna are cute, as always ![]()
I went to the vet with Peep and Yumi last week, and asked her to check Yumi and Peep for mites etc, as I felt Yumi was scratchier than usually, she told me it must be simply the fact her and Peep are moulting, as she couldnt find anything.
I trusted her as she seemed to give each a good look over, and I asked about prescribing something anyway, to be sure, but she said there was no point.
Today Yumi and him had a fight while bonding, so I checked them both for cuts to be sure everyone was okay.
Peep was covered in what looks like lice.
Treated them with a spot on for rabbits that has ivermectin in it.
I’ve no idea how I didnt catch it sooner, or how the vet missed it! I feel awful. It must be so uncomfortable for him
Poor little Peep – mites among all that floof! Glad you dosed him ![]()
Q8- He was given a very impromptu hair cut, to try make it easier to manage for now! Less fur to brush and check over…!
My little girl was born today, 8lb 11oz, she is beautiful and healthy 🙂

A fun-sized hooman for the bunnehs! ![]()
Vanessa, congratulations!!!
Congratulations, that’s wonderful
Dory is literally driving me insane today, i am so excited to put her away with dinner in a few minutes. She won’t stop chewing the curtain rod, door frame, fridge seal. Won’t stop trying to get behind the fridge etc. On the funny side, her face is completely covered in cobwebs.
That’s v funny Az. Although not for you….
I think Henry has passed his bonkers energy onto Dory…. although he is still as skitty, he seems to have slowed down he OCD behaviour (no digging to Australia in litter tray..) fingers crossed it lasts…
hey LBJ, has your little digger stopped digging….?? ![]()
So maybe it was a form of spring fever?? ?
The mass of cobwebs on her face was her only saving grave
I took some pics on my phone but not sure any show it very well. Will flick through and see about uploading one on the picture thread.
It’s possible she’s hormonal and looking for nest hollows around the house for breeding. I was going to give her another seagrass mat hammock in her cage, but I might hold off in case it causes her to be more hormonal. But whether she’s hormonal or just in a real pain of a mood, I don’t know. I hope this isn’t her normal, well settled in, behaviour. She also created a new sound today, after about the fifth repeat I think my eardrums burst, so I didn’t hear the following 10, 20, 40 repetitions very well… funny, not funny.
I never thought I would say it about any pet, but she is very tough to love sometimes.
According to what I’ve read, most parrots have the intelligence of a 5 year old, but the emotional intelligence of a 2 year old, which explains quite a lot… It’s tough to do the right thing and let her out for at least a few hours every day when some days I have to watch her literally every second, it’s so draining.
Vanessa, congrats!!! ![]()
Congrats Vanessa!
congratulations Vanessa
That’s great Vanessa, congrats!
Leopold? Oh, you know him. But no, there hasn’t been any digging lately. Only because I got a litter screen though! That was the only thing that would make him stop. Now, if I could just get Wooly to stop being a Mr. Humpy Humper.
Wow, this week felt like forever! But the weekend is finally here and our wedding anniversary is tomorrow! No plans yet. I had thought about going to one of the state parks here, but it’s supposed to be unseasonably hot. It will be much better on Sunday, but that’s Father’s Day and it sounded like my in-laws wanted to do something.
Ooh, Happy Anniversary
I forgot US Father’s day was coming up, will have to remind hubby so he can call his dad
Dory seems to be making up for yesterday’s terror attack. She is non-stop cute noises today
I did try to take a nap, but she hasn’t stopped chatting all day so that was the end of that ![]()
Happy anniversary, LBJ!
Az, will parrots lay unfertilized eggs like hens do?
Congrats Vanessa! How wonderful!
I always forget how much I love the chat ![]()
Thanks poeple
she is an absolute doll. My first, and his first biological. She was breech the entire time so it was a c-section which i was nervous about. Lancelot had a rough day yesterday so my partner is going to syringe feed him in the morning. I Should b home on sunday. I do miss and worry about lancelot but this little girl, Esther Ruth , is the most prescious thing ever.
Az. Could you try and find a male for her…. Gulp. Haha

Make sure you rest up while you have extra hands around helping you out. Keeping Lancelot in my thoughts. I bet he is missing you but he’s been quite the trooper.

You take that back!!
One ear-deafening monster is enough… lol. Though I have heard the boys are real sweethearts ![]()
Jersey, I much prefer your option, though it’d probably only serve to make her more hormonal. ![]()
Yes, they can lay unfertilised eggs, not all do, some pop out eggs all the time (at least once a month) and are super hormonal, others never do. It’s why you have to keep the calcium up in their diet, otherwise they can get egg bound (where the egg doesn’t come out).
We’re going to the zoo today, will try to take some pics, let me know if you have any species requests ![]()
Thank you, it has been a pretty uneventful day (unfortunately). It’s hard to do things when it’s a Saturday and there are events in town. People everywhere.
Vanessa – I’m sure Lancelot is in good hands. ![]()
Poppy scared my half to death a couple days ago… I had a California roll and I was eating it in my/the bunnies’ room. I forgot to bring the tray downstairs in the morning and Poppy got out of her cage (I still don’t know how she got out). she ate the wasabi that was on the tray. she totally freaked me out. after I figured out she was fine she got lots of cuddles.
Happy Anniversary to you and Hubby, LBJ!
BM, wasabi?!! I bet she’d only want to try it once! Is a californian roll like nori rolls / sushi ?
As a FYI to anyone reading, the site was down earlier. Hopefully all issues now resolved and we can Binky On. ![]()
Jerseys option is perfect!!
A pair of those = low low maintenance, no extra costs, and no need to find a sitter when you go away for the night !!! Perfick !
Az…. i wondered if it might help. Instead of caaaaaallling for a lover if she had one that didnt speak much or disagree with her (lol), she may be content….. a bit like a softtoy for a bun to groom….?
Hope I’m not to late for a species request. I want a pic of a wombat!

bam, I think i recall you saying you follow a wombat on fb, right?
Did you ever see a video of a young wombat doing “binkies” on a sofa?
lol, Dory is never content
Bam, I’m afraid so, and much to my dismay as well as yours the wombats were tucked snugly up in their burrows and refused to make an appearance for us today
We did however have a great day at the zoo. Missed the maned wolves as well which made me sad, but we saw plenty of other things, I took a few photos but mostly short video clips
Just finished editing four pics, will upload to pic thread.
And oh my gosh, Luna just did a huge flop!!
So cute!
Jersey : rofl !! ![]()
Az, how very inconsiderate of the wombats!
Jersey, I don’t follow a wombat. I wish I did, though ?
Lol. I must have dreamt it then.
I tried find the video earlier today but no luck. I did find this one of an adult wombat being playful on a sofa though.
And this one of a young wombat was amusing! He does wombat binkies.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUzrTbFuFmU
Ive also seen a video recently of a little wombat joey clinging to the boot of the carer while he walked around.
Hhmmm Jersey. Someone follows something…. i agree. ?
I follow mostly rabbits on Instagram, but also quite a few dogs and cats and guinea pigs, some horses, turtles, lizards and a praying mantis named Oliver.
Help! I used the last of Reese’s hay yesterday and have not gotten to the store yet. I have her extra pellets, but is there anything else that I can do to get her fiber so she does not get sick?
Hi Reese. been wondering where you were! You can feed her grass. Just make sure you wash it well. Also, if you have access to roses, apple or pear trees, willow or any of the other safe trees for rabbits, you can feed her foliage from those.
Sometimes the hay gets lots of fine stuff down the bottom of the box/bag, so you can pop that in a bowl too.
ETA: I just watched the video of Reese grooming your cat. So Cute!
I also follow a variety of pets on instagram. Mostly bunnies as well, but there are all sorts, no praying mantis though ![]()
Thank you Jersey! I have a huge willow tree right next to my house. I can’t give her grass because all ours is dead from the heat. You’re a lifesaver!
Hi Reese!
Oh no! It’s saying the photo is to large….
I’d love that, Andi =)
Hi AndHenri!
??
I love wombats! They are so freaking adorable!
Well, if I didn’t think the internet/TV/phone switch was a mistake before, I certainly do now! They finally (FINALLY) got everything hooked up on Friday after being without a phone for a week. They had so much trouble getting the service hooked up. They were here several times. Everything works now. And they didn’t hesitate to send the first bill. It was $40 more than what I was quoted… by several different people. I kept asking, are you sure it’s only that much? Yes, yes, that’s what it is! So, naturally, I decided to take the plunge since it was less than what we were paying before. And now it’s not… :\
Hi Reese! My buns love willow. ![]()
Today is sofa cover washing day. And I don’t see any fluffy butts offering to help. Which is strange considering that I’m not the one who likes to nom on juicy bits of fruit directly ON the sofa instead of on the little dining rug on the floor. ![]()
Bam. Rofl. …. “and a praying mantis called Oliver…..” hahaha.
I was away overnight (2 days) and had to go and visciously assault a willow tree just before leaving to keep the furballs chomping in my absence…. worked a treat!!!
Though with the heatwave we are having over here, the uneaten willow leaves have magically turned into dried leaves !!!
(yes, yes!! before you are all up in arms…. someone came last night to check that they weren’t having a surprise party and trashing everything here… they weren’t .

Jersey sorry this is so late but a California roll is: crab avocado cucumber wrapped in rice then seaweed and then covered in rice again and then sprinkled with sesame seeds (at least that’s how I get them)

OMG found the cutest shirt on amazon it says “this girl loves her Lionhead rabbit” (omg I love that shirt)there are so many cut shirts with rabbits on amazon
AGH! They aren’t going to carry Oxbow products at the local feed store anymore. It was cheaper to buy it there than at Petsmart or online. I’m so sad now. My mom was tempted to go back and buy up all the food so I could get it at the cheaper price. ![]()
Bummer…
Maybe you could persuade them to go on stocking smaller quantities just for you?
If you do stock up LBJ, maybe freeze some of the items?
That looks good BM, thanks for the description. I need to eat more of that type of thing! I fill up on crappy carbs. lol
Rumball gave me a bit of a fright yesterday morning. I’ve been treating him the last few weeks for an abscess in the ear. Ive been a bit worried about all the prodding he’s been getting.
Yesterday morning when I went in their room, is was sitting like in a loaf but with his head turned to the side. The unaffected side down. I thought he may be getting tilt or even gone. : (
But he was just snoozing. He bopped over for his morning pellets.
I wonder where bunnies stand in actuarial books??
Happy Summer Solstice, everyone! ![]()
Happy Summer Solstice!!!
Naughty Rumball, I hope his abscess is improving.
Tony has his first bout of gastric stasis ?
Omg Vanessa! Congratulations!!! I’ve been offline for a few weeks because I broke my laptop so I missed your news, but oh my gosh I’m so happy for you! Beautiful name too. You take such good care of your buns, you are bound to be an absolutely amazing mum. Xxx
Tony’s Mum, that’s so scary. Please start a thread if you like.
ETA: I see now you’ve already done that. I think I’ll move it to the Diet and Care-section if you don’t mind. It might get seen by more people there.
Yes, that’s absolutely fine, thank you! It’s really scary, I adore my little baby bun. He has another vet appointment tomorrow morning so for now it’s CC every two hours and lots of tummy rubs. He’s got some medication to take tonight too, so I’ll give that to him after his next feed of CC. It’s awful though, he’s stopped even licking/swallowing it when I syringe it into his mouth, he just lets it all fall out the other side
I’ve spotted another couple of tiny sticky pellets since I let him out though, so I’m hopeful he’ll swallow a bit more at his next feed.
Oh, kind of funny; the vet in the emergency animal hospital was allergic to rabbits! The emergency clinic near me is in the vet College, so everyone there is a newly qualified vet gaining experience. She was really nice and seemed to know her stuff but within five minutes she was sneezing and her eyes were all red? I was crying and really stressed out but it made me laugh. The poor girl! Hopefully she goes into large animal care so she won’t spend her whole career wheezing!
Poor vet, allergic to rabbits =( It’s great you have a vet college ER though, new vets with fresh knowledge and hopefully a modern view on rabbit care.
(((((Please Tony, take your CC now like a good boy!)))))
Yeah it’s really great, they’re all really enthusiastic and really care. In the past when I had dogs I met a couple of emergency vets who were long in their careers and clearly didn’t care as much anymore. Ideally it’d be nice to have a 24 hour rabbit savvy vet on call, but I know that’s a bit unrealistic. I’ll take caring, enthusiastic graduates over grumpy old people any day!
Tony’s mum- omg I get you some of the vets at the clinic I bring my bunnies to are so grouchy so I make sure to get early appointments
Took Effi German Shepherd dog) to the vet today, as planned. She’s been so well until yesterday when she started panting and restlessly shifting position and seemed so genuinely uncomfortable., and she came to me like she was asking for help. The vet did a thorough exam of her spine and legs and reflexes and decided to order a CT scan of her lower back. She felt her hind quarters were a bit weak (reflexes good though) and proprioception not good in her right foot. She also put her back on Previcox.
Half an hour after getting her pill she fell asleep, just like she did during her first round of Previcox.
On the way home we stopped by a pet store and bought her a combo preparation of hualuronic acid, MSM and glucosamine.
It’s so weird though. She doesn’t seem to have any problems jumping into the car. She seems to be afraid of the dark. Her appetite is excellent but she’s lost 1,7 kg (3.75 lb) since the last visit 2 weeks ago.
((((( Effi ))))))
Kyra started stopping dead as soon as the automatic light timers went out, whereas before she would just carry on from feeling or from night vision.
It was of course her eyes that were going…. cataracts. She had good day-vision as long as she lived but as soon as it was dark she changed as she got older.
GSD are known for having inherited and generic hip probs (thanks, Human beings!) which i’m sure you and your vet have taken into account, but the mixture of all the symptoms are strange…
I’ve learnt from the TV Supervet, that a well behaved dog will lick his lips when in pain (rather than whining or barking), which could be taken into account when your testing Effi’s hip movements….
(((Effi)))
Az. I was thinking, have you a piccie of the new shelf…..? ![]()
((((((((Effi)))))))) poor girl. my family experienced something like that with our Great Dane, Lili we never found out what was wrong but she had some sort of Huge growth in her armpit but she started having back/leg problems and loss of bowel control. I don’t want to say what happened because it still makes me cry if I think about it. again we never found out what was wrong but she was very old (for a Great Dane) she was 11.
this wont help but just warning you that there might not be results ( our vet also wasn’t the best so it might have just been that) . we also didn’t want to risk sedating her since she was so old so surgery for the growth was out of the question. sorry about your special girl.
11 yo is great age for a Great Dane.
A CT scan will find out the root of Effi’s discomfort and treatment will get ot sorted, im positive. (((( )))))

Yes I do, I’m getting ready to leave for work, so this is a reminder to me to post one when I get home
If you don’t see one in about 12 hours from the time of this post, ask again ![]()
((( Hugs to all the sick furbabies. )))
Vienna, here is the shelf sans bunnies

That’s a beautiful shelf, Az =D
Blue Moon, I’m sorry about your GD. 11 years is fantastic for a GD though. There is a (most likely) genetic condition in GSDs and other large breed dogs that makes them gradually lose control over their hind quarters, it’s called degenerative myelopathy. It’s about progressive, irreversible destruction of spinal nerves. There’s no cure. It’s generally not associated with pain though, but I suppose there are always exceptions. Effi is clearly suffering from sth painful. I hope the Previcort will help this time too. And the joint supplements, but they take some time to start acting.
Aww… ((((((vibes)))))) for all the poorly little and not so little ones.
and nose/ear rubs.
more get well vibes for Effi ((((((get well soon))))))) and Tony too (((((Tony)))))
Aww, so sorry to hear Effi still isn’t doing well.
Our dog grew weak in her hindquarters as well. She was a dachshund though. This sounds silly, but very late in life, she had dog socks for her hind feet. Due to the weakness in the back, she had trouble keeping her back feet from sliding on the wood floors. She would be standing and then gradually slide down into the splits and she wouldn’t be able to get back up. So we put the socks on her to keep her upright.
How is she doing today, bam? Sending many {{{vibes}}} out for Effi.
{{{Vibes}}} for Tony also! Im sorry you are going through this. So stressful!
I saw this being shared on FB and I was like “ohmygosh, Jersey!”
This bun looks SO much like her.
btw, the post was captioned: ” Bunnies don’t give a fluff about your boundaries
?” True.
S/O to Ellie. I hope you are doing okay, Luvvie.
Where’s Ellie?
Jersey, that vid is just perfect
The utter disregard! And the elegance of that flawless leap!
Effi has the weirdest symptoms. They’re inconsistent with just about everything, so the vet suggested her back might just be one of her problems. She has no problems jumping in and out of the car, not even the slightest reluctance. We met another dog last night, she was clearly very pleased and wanted to play (she mustn’t play though). She has bouts of very fast breathing/panting (144-60 breaths per min, normal for a resting dog is around 28) but no hint of fever. No cough. Her appetite is great. No lameness.
It’s raining here, yesterday was Midsummer’s Eve, a very big deal here, but the rain didn’t stop so we stayed in.
I hope everybody else is fine! Bam got a whole lot of dill yesterday, he was very pleased ![]()
Not fine yet, but definitely improving! Which is good because today is moving house day lol. ((( Hugs for the sick babies and the worried fur parents )))
Bam: Is there a reason Midsummer was celebrated late in your neck of the woods?
Az. A million apologies, you already posted it hadn’t you….. ![]()
Q8, there is actually a reason
Midsummer is the biggest national holiday in Sweden, and traditionally, people celebrate by eating pickled herring and strawberries (separately) and drinking vast amounts of vodka (schnapps). This had detrimental effects on the workers’ capacity for work the rest of the week when Midsummer fell on a weekday. So in the 1970ies Midsummer was moved to the Friday nearest the summer solstice, the Saturday was declared a Sunday and work productivity suffered somewhat less.
In Denmark they celebrate Midsummer on St John The Baptist’s day (June 24), with fireworks and bonfires.
Hey peeps, just checking in on Tony and Effi. Hope that both will get well soon! All my best wishes to you!
I haven’t been on the computer much lately, my rheumatism has been acting up for a week now. It’s at the level where I can’t move my left arm properly and have pain while breathing deeply because the muscles in between the ribs hurt :/ I’m taking a lot of rest and distracting myself with some arts&crafts and listening to music/audiobooks. Breintje is a bit worried, he’s following me around constantly and trying to lick or cuddle me. Bas is being a dear as well, he helps out in the house a lot. He’s even brave enough to try and mobilise my joints again, and doing quite a good job. My left shoulderblade was completely frozen in place yesterday evening, and he managed to get it moving again with a very firm massage. Very brave of him because it’s very painful for me, but he says he isn’t scared by that anymore, as long as it helps me.
In the meantime I’m secretly working on his birthday gift. He gave me his wishlist only a week before his birthday, so I couldn’t finish his gift in time. But it’s getting there. I’ll post pics when I’m finished ![]()
Hi AndHenry!! Good to see you, you gotta stick around this time! ![]()
Bam: I’m sorry Effi isn’t better yet, does the vet have a plan on what to do or is this just how it’s going to be from now on? ![]()
Ellie: I’m sorry you’re having a difficult time right now, at least you have Breintje and Bas there to take care of you.
Have you considered going to a coffeeshop and getting a little something for the pain?
Hazel, the vet has ordered a CT scan of her lower back (the insurance company needs to approve). They’ve done a full blood panel, ultrasound and x rays of abdomen/chest to rule out anything infectious and everything came up clear. Her CT is on July 3, that was the first available time. Until then we do NSAID and very limited exercise.
I feels so genuinely powerless.
Speaking of coffee shops, I’ve actually been considering cbd for her, i.e. cannabis oil without THC. It’s good for people with nerve issues/pain and it’s not illegal because there’s no THC. My mother has a friend who has MS and who’s taken part in a medical cbd trial, and she feels she’s been helped.
Thanks Hazel! I’m really thankful to have these wonderful lads around. I have seriously considered cannabis pain relief, but my doctors have cautioned me against it. There are some people with schizophrenia, psychoses and related issues in my mother’s family tree, and this is a contraindication for cannabis use. I don’t know if I have these genes as well, but if you’re genetically predisposed cannabis use can have severe side effects which can trigger long-term mental health issues. After careful consideration I concluded that the risks are too large for me.
For pain management I try to use several non-medicinal techniques like distraction (Breintje, arts&crafts, music, reading and occasional computer gaming), warmth (hot showers and an infrared therapy lamp), exercise (very mild exercise in warm water and stretch exercises), relaxation and rest. My regular pain medication is adequate: it doesn’t take the pain away completely but it makes it a bit manageable. On really bad days I can take low dose of a muscle relaxant as well so the cramped muscles ease up a little. I try to use both medications only sparingly to make sure that they’ll continue to be effective on low dosages. I prefer pain over developing a physical tolerance for pain meds, people who use them every day may end up needing higher dosages for pain relief. So far it seems to be working: I’ve been on the same meds for nearly 6 years now and they still work well for me. I’m 33 which is young for chronic pain patients, and I try to take into account that I’ll probably need pain relief for the rest of my life, so I’d best make sure that it’s used wisely. It would be a bit sad if I were considered to be toxic waste at the age of 75 ![]()
Hi Ellie! I’m sorry to hear your rheumatism is acting up
I somehow didn’t see your posts before I replied to Q8. Stupid rheumatism and stupid pain! I’m glad you have your two sweet boys who do their best to take care of you ![]()
Ellie: I’m always kind of wary of doctors who caution against using it and instead prescribe (often addictive) pain medications. They make a profit one way or the other from prescribing things like opiods, at least that’s how it is here. My mother has been on medication for epilepsy her entire life, it pains me to think that she’s being denied a better/safer option because it’s illegal. I haven’t looked into the link to schizophrenia etc myself, but if the risk is higher for you, I totally get why you wouldn’t want to chance it.
bam: I think that’s a great idea. Can you just buy it over the counter?
Oh, Ellie, I was wondering why you weren’t around BB so much
I’m really sorry to hear that you’re suffering but agree with the others: it’s great that you’ve got your two knights to support you through it. Have you tried using an Arnica ointment during massages? When she remembers to use it regularly, it works wonders for my mom’s arthritic finger joints and shoulder.
The June picture thread no longer even appears in the Lounge for me. So I’m posting this here before my tiny window of frustrating access to BB closes again.
Finished Oceanhorn on PS4 and loved it! Awesome alternative to Zelda. Got every single achievement, too, EXCEPT for the fishing one because I simply could not reel in either the Ghost fish or the electric one. Gah! So close to perfection, yet so far away… ![]()

Oh Vienna, I read this totally wrong and thought you had baby bunnies! I was wondering how you were going to post them ? it has been a long week lol
Love YOU Hazel – BIG time!
I have to laugh – at ME!
I thought I was sorta clever? NUP!
I couldn’t even change a spelling mistake…. OH dear! SORRY! Ha ha..
I hope you can all laugh at me the way i do.
You must have figured it out Andi because I don’t see anything now.
i dunt see no speling misteaks ether.
@Ellie, im sorry you’ve been struggling with this. I admire how you manage it though!
Did you end up going to that rehabilitation clinic?
Thank you jersey! *big hug*
Still waiting for their letter, it’s been 4 weeks now. Bas and I were getting a bit worried, so I called them last week. Turns out that the neurology department sent the letter on June 3rd, but it was never received at the rehabilitation clinic. Grrr, the mail services really aren’t what they used to be ever since they were privatised. Their personnel is very demotivated and downright lazy, and the amount of lost letters, dumped letters&parcels is increasing steadily.
Anyway, there should be another letter on its way now, and we’re keeping our eyes on the mailbox. If it gets lost again, I’ll get my mobility scooter and drive there myself if I have to. It’s a shame that 3 weeks were wasted…
Ellie that is a real shame. I do hope they can get you in there and that it helps you.
Vienna, it’s ok ![]()
Jersey, that bun-hop in that vid is just crazy!
I’m considering getting one of these, not sure where I would put it though… http://www.kmart.com.au/product/y-shaped-cat-tunnel/722605
Ellie, I hear you. Canada’s postal system experienced the exact same problem (well, still does, technically
)
I save pretty much all of the pictures I take of my pets to like several different locations cause I dont wanna lose them-one of the places is imgur. Normally I keep the posts not public, but today I uploaded it and for whatever reason I inadvertently uploaded a picture publicly. I figured it would just be ignored so left it.
Someone started commenting under it making comments about wanting to eat Yumi. I told the individual to go be horrible elsewhere, and then got a reply saying “it was just a joke, Im an animal person.”
I cant tell if I’ve just lost my sense of humour but to me that’s not a joke. Sayin you want to eat someones pet is such a violent thought. I dont understand why anyone would think its funny.
I just got off Skype with my dad who as usual told Chewie that grandpa’s gonna eat him.
At this point, I choose to blame it on my dad’s age, since I know he actually dotes on his grandbun, but I wanted to do what Choo does and give him bunny butt. ![]()
My mum’s partner jokes about whether the rabbits are fat enough to eat yet every time he sees me. My mum tells him off, but he does it anyway. He wouldn’t eat my rabbits, and he’s just messing with me, but it does get tiresome. To be honest I think it’s worse when it’s a stranger or someone you don’t know very well. Because with people who are close it usually is just a joke/messing with you and you can tell, but with strangers it can be vindictive and more insensitive. At least that’s my thoughts on it anyway.
Been looking at more things online, might have to find a good excuse to buy this soon, though it is designed more for a cat, than for rabbits. http://www.kmart.com.au/product/woven-cat-cave/1029302
ETA: Hooray, day off work. But sad as it’s because I’m sick. Maybe Dory will let me have a peaceful day today and I’ll be able to have a nap ![]()
(( Az )) Feel better soon.
When you’ve got two big buns, each 6 kg, as i doand you’re in FRANCE(!) those kinda jokes are everyday…
(and it IS true, if ever starvation was upon me, the rabbits would be higher on the list than the 3.5kg cats….
hahaha )
It’s as tiresome as an English person in France hearing “oh it is raining, you must be used to that….” everyday comments…
But naturally i retort with “where is the beret and the string of onions….??!! ![]()

Wow…. just wait until HRH Henry hears about this!!! Cats are gorgeous though…
And thanks
It’s been kinda on and off. I was sick about three weeks ago, came on very suddenly and was gone pretty quick. But AFTER I got better, I started getting a horrible cough. Cough has been there all this time and now the last day or two I just feel incredibly drained with a sore head. It probably doesn’t help that there’s usually 3 people in my immediate team at work, and for the past week it’s just been me, so that’s been a bit of extra pressure that probably hasn’t helped. Today they have no one ![]()
Jokes about eating your rabbit are not funny indeed. When we travel with Breintje around Christmas we get all kinds of remarks. Practically waiting for someone with kids to make a remark like that, just to answer with a big smile: “Nah, there’s more meat on your kids!”
Get well soon Azerane! If your cough persists please see a doctor. Some people develop bronchitis after the flu, and that’s not something that goes away quickly without medical care.
Also, yay! The rehabilitation centre received the letter after the second attempt. They’ll show my medical file to their doctors to see whose expertise is the best match for me. The letter didn’t mention how long I’ll have to wait, they won’t be able to tell that until they’ve found the right specialist for me. At least things are moving!
Az: Salamat (Arabic for get well soon)
Ellie: At last! That’s great news, since a step forward is… a step forward.
I didn’t want to jinx it yesterday, but I definitely have normal BB access back. I was so happy this morning I teared up. I know, I know, I’m such a junkie, but you guys are my fellow-bunny-nutters family ![]()
Q8, I was literally just signing on to mention this and see if other peeps were experiencing it. Happy days!!
Az, I love those cat caves! I so wanted to get some for buns but was a bit wary about the wire structure inside, as I know my rabbits would chew some extra entry/exit holes in the structure. No worries for non chewers, or for cats. ![]()
Jersery, I also found a site called Cat Caves Australia on facebook, they seem to import larger cat caves that look like plain wicker (only one design) that I suspect wouldn’t have wire in them. They don’t list pricing, so I expect it could be a few $$. They are super cute though ![]()
I’m really missing proper meals. With being sick i haven’t felt like cooking. In addition with his work, hubby doesn’t always feel like eating when he gets home, so i haven’t been cooking as much. Vegemite and cheese on toast just isn’t the same as chicken hokkein noodles or homemade tacos etc ![]()
feel better Az
I have tons of great news.
1. I will be home schooled next year
2. I am painting my/ the bunnies’ room
3. I am starting to work with my cow again.
4. My ankle is completely healed
5. My family got a new sofa
6. I am using a new feeding method that take much less work on my part for the rabbits
7. summer is here!!!!!
My kind of list, BM. Well done!
Great news Blue Moon ![]()
hi everybunny, been so busy with work and flopsy i havent had time to log in.
Hi Jessica! Good to see you again!
That’s all fantastic Blue Moon
You must post a piccy of your cow sometime in the photos thread
My good news, is that it’s SATURDAY!! We have a work thing for me tonight, but I doubt we’ll be there long because of being sick. Tomorrow will be most exciting, we’re meeting up with someone, then after going to see Wonder Woman.
Does anyone use something like this? https://www.petstock.com.au/products/132811000063/petpals_cat_scratcher_sisal_with_cylinder_&_teaser
Hahah! Wonder Woman was banned here because the lead actress is Israeli. Thilly wabbits ![]()
I wondered about that Q8!! I knew it was banned in Lebanon.
Az, I don’t have a cat tree but I do have the box part of the bottom of one. A friend gave it to me as she didn’t have use for it. Amazingly, Ailis (5kg) can actually get inside it. The buns sometimes use it as an “escape” if I have to pick them up for nail trims and the likes. It works in my favour because I pick them up while in the box and take them to where I need. The prefer that then just being held in my arms. It’s also Ailis’s safe place (lol) to sit on if Rumball is getting too humpy. She fits on the top but takes up the whole space, so he can’t go there with her.
Buns are geniuses! ![]()
Q8 are you kidding me? That’s just dumb
Will be interested to see what it’s like. I’m a bit tired of the superhero movies, but many people have said good things about WW so we’ll see.
Jersey, yes I’m sure they would like the box/hollow part.
It sounds like she really takes advantage of the platform too. Clever bunny.
Well, I wouldn’t have gone to see it because I like my superheroes a little more tongue in cheek and because I’m not into the whole ‘women are as good as men and we’ll prove it even if it kills us’ trope.
But i’m not surprised at the silliness – this is, after all, the country that refuses to acknowledge that Israel is an actual name. They just black it out with Sharpies in all print media and write in Occupied Palestine. teeheehee Politics are so ridiculous, I’ve always thought. ![]()
OMG!
The TV was on while I was folding laundry, and a sequence came on with a very epic version of Orf’s Carmina Burana. Chewie jumped out of the laundry basket (quality inspection) and ran to chase his beach ball around the living room. It looked like a scene from The Omen with this fluffy little possessed bunny attacking a rainbow ball in time to the music.
Q8, wish you’d got that on film!
Me too! ![]()
Epic is right! You’ll have camera ready, look up the piece and play it and see his reaction. ![]()
I remember Maple getting really active one time when she heard a classicl piece.
Hard to believe we’ve just past Winter solstice here in Australia, I mean, look at that blue! Today was particularly nice,

I saw lots of parrots today. Phone pics enlarge so the quality is bit dodgy!

Gorgeous array of colours! ![]()
Gorgeous
They’re called Rainbow Lorikeets for a reason
They have very pretty wings too with bright yellow striping through them. We’re lucky to have a few big gum trees overhanging our yard so we get a few rainbow lorikeets, musk lorikeets and when we’re lucky on occasion we get purple-crowned lorikeets too. Though they’re terribly uncommon and never sit still. I have to be careful with the gum trees because two of them hang quite low which means I often harvest them for Dory’s cage, I have to be careful not to take too much too quickly because I need it to grow back enough that I can continue to reach it.
It was a very clear blue today here too
Pity I did spend most of it inside, I need a dog to take for walks on days like today, lol. Unfortunately (fortunately) a steam game that I backed on kickstarter some time ago became available today, so I spent a bit of time playing that around cleaning the bunny condo and Dory’s cage. I used to play games a lot about 5-10 years ago (mostly zoo tycoon), but haven’t much for a long time. Then this game (based on cats) was announced and I thought why not. So I’ve spent a few hours roaming around as a little kitty, foraging for herbs and hunting prey
I tell you what though, the opening backstory for the game is super depressing, I had tears in my eyes. Animals are the worst, lol.
It’s raining here. It rained all of yesterday. We haven’t yet lost all hope of summer. Sigh, though.
I love (and miss) summer. Except for this last summer when our air con broke down. I don’t miss that, and neither do the bunnies. I hope you still get a nice summer bam, there’s plenty of time left yet ![]()
Lovely pics
Thankfully its dry and breezy here today, given my youngest got home from uni with a suitcase fully of smelly laundry yesterday evening
its good to have both boys home tho ![]()

Yay! Finishing a game gives you a nice feeling of accomplishment doesn’t it?
Now you can get started on The Last Guardian!
The hubby and I are playing Rime at the moment, it’s a cute platformer/puzzle game. And surprisingly, kind of a mind bender. I’m also planning on getting the new Crash Bandicoot trilogy remake. The first franchise I ever played on the PS1. Ahh, memories… ![]()
Azerane, hope you feel better soon!
jersey: Beautiful pictures! ![]()
I got The Last Guardian but failed to get into it.
I think the artwork is what put me off… it’s so not my cup of tea. Ho hum… waiting for Oceanhorn 2 now plus the DLC for Uncharted.
Free to (doesn’t even need to be good) home. One large parrot. Probably tastes like chicken (I haven’t tried yet but am extremely tempted to). Good at pooping, eating, exploding ear drums, and making the same noise for 2 hours straight. Guaranteed minimum 100 decibels. No need to enquire, just send me your address.
I’m going to go online and find multiple sets of noise cancelling headphones I can sit over the top of each other ![]()
You guys are silly! It’s July! ![]()
Az . Rofl…. do you have close neighbours…???. i can hear mine snoring (neighbours) so Dory wouldn’t be a cunning plan in my house….
You can really hear your neighbours snoring?! Egad! Narf.
living in France doesn’t always mean living in a cute little French country maison surrounded with lavendar fields.. or vineyards, or a backdrop of the alps…. ![]()
Tbh, its only really in summer when everyone sleeps with their windows open….
![]()
Vienna, yes and no. We’re in a standard suburban neighbourhood. So house with a fence less than 1m either side of the house and neighbours house less than 1m on the other side of the fence. Once you’re outside while you can still hear her a way off, it’s not deafening though. So I doubt they can hear much inside their house unless all their windows are wide open. The main issue is that while she’s in the dining room, all the living areas are connected and it echos through extremely well. I’m hoping she’s just going through a phase with this sound, it’s pretty common with parrots.
Pity about the lack of cute French country mansion ![]()
