So my rabbits have taken to jumping out of their 4 foot high enclosure, and for the life of me I cant understand why, once out they just bounce to another part of the room and flop down there, and just chill for the most part. In particular Yumi jumps the gate that blocks off the hedgehogs part of the room. (I’ve taken down the gate because Im so terrified she’ll kill herself jumping it, it’s close to five foot and it’s screened so she cant see the other side of it)
Their cage and playpen is attached to give them more room as they have been given limited exercise under the vet’s instruction to try keep Sampras a little bit calm so he can work on fighting infection-they used to be realitivley free range in the room, but now it’s down to five -7 hours out a day. ( while he is out he does binkies and zoomies and is up and down the stairs and jumps up to the couch and back down, but as a result doesnt spend a lot of time eating his food or resting to get better)
They have only started jumping out, and have had the playpen for about 5 months with zero problems.
Is it just boredom ?
